Matthew 6:20

"Lay It Up"

"But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal."  To make it short and sweet  ...  "Lay It Up!"

If you have spent your life being used and abused, hurt and lost; then this is for You!  You've laid everything down for the world's taking, maybe your body, your mind, your spirit and your soul have been trampled on by drugs, illicit sex, foster homes, what you might call deadbeat parents who threw you away, the streets, the gangs  ...  and here you are  ...  your life has been laid down for the world to do with it as they please.  Maybe some of it was your doing, and maybe it wasn't; maybe life just has never given you a break  ...  this is for You!

Barnes' notes on the Bible says it this way, "In heaven, nothing corrupts, nothing terminates, no enemies plunder or destroy."  I couldn't have said it better!  The scripture says lay up "your treasures" in heaven.  One would think that means money, and that's true, but a treasure is something extremely valuable.  What could be more valuable than your life?  What is of more infinite value than your soul?  It's time for you to give it up, look up, and lay it up  ...  the Lord will receive your body, your soul, and your spirit with love, mercy, and kindness.  He will treat you with respect and honor!  You say, "But, I don't deserve to be treated that way."  No, none of us do; we are all born in sin and shapen in iniquity, but that's why the Lord Jesus Christ came to earth, was born of a virgin, died on a cross, rose the third day, and is alive today  ... for You!

The Lord is a Specialist in making all things new!  You say, "I think I'm too far gone; I've done too many things and I don't see how He could even want me."  He wants You; He loves You; He shed His blood to give You NEW life!  He'll pick You up, dust You off, cleanse Your soul, fill Your spirit, and give You JOY such as You have never known.  Jesus Christ does not judge You; "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."  (Romans 8:1)  You say, "I don't know anything about the Bible, Church, or any of that stuff."  Jesus knows that and He will lead You; all He wants to do is take You in His arms  ...  not to use You, but to love You, with pure Holy love, a love that "gives" to You, to nurture and protect You all the days of Your life  ...  and forever, if You will let Him.

Lay It Up!  Lay what up?  Lay up all of Your hurt, heartache, fears, tears, the years of pain, abuse, hate, despair, and the feeling of being totally unloved.  Give it up, all of it, to the Lord Jesus Christ  ...  He's waiting for You; He will apply the balm of Gilead to the sores of Your soul!

Please pray with me:  "Lord Jesus, I need You; I don't know where to turn.  I have no one to help me, no where to go.  Please forgive me of all of my sins; my whole life is a wreck.  Cleanse me of everything I've ever done that was wrong.  I come to You now, just as I am.  Please take me, and make me new; wash away all the years of abandonment, all the hurt and pain.  Please give me Joy; I have never ever had Joy.  I don't know what pure love is; please show me.  I believe You will fill me with Your Spirit now, and I will speak in a language I have never learned.  I will be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for remission of my sins.  I praise You and I give You my life, in Jesus' name I pray.  Amen!

If You have been filled with the Spirit of Jesus Christ and spoke in tongues, as a result of this prayer; we will help you to get baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Please contact the people at promiselandchurch.net and tell them; information can be provided to give you strength and direction.  Our Church can provide you with guidance and help for your new life!  God Bless and keep you and His face shine upon you!

This is the first day of your new life in the Lord Jesus Christ, and all you had to do was "Lay It Up!"
