"Tryst Before Takeoff"



"O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you,
in a dry and weary land where there is no
water.  I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld
your power and your glory.  Because your love is
better than life, my lips will glorify you.  I will
praise you as long as I live, and in your name I
will lift up my hands.  My soul will be satisfied as
with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth
will praise you.  On my bed I remember you; I
think of you through the watches of the night.
Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of
your wings.  My soul clings to you; your right hand
  upholds me."
(Psalm 68:1-8)

A "tryst" is a meeting of lovers.  The Lord Jesus Christ is the lover of my soul  ...  and He is the lover of your soul!  He loves us so much that He was beaten, spit upon, mocked, whipped with razor-like shreds, crowned with thorns, nailed to a cross, His blood flowed like a river, and then He died and said, "It Is Finished."  But, He rose again the third day; why?  Because the "tryst" is not over!  He's got a lot more lovin' to do before "we" leave; it's a "Tryst Before Takeoff."


"For great is your love toward me; you have
delivered me from the depths of the grave."
(Psalm 86:13)


Our sins are as scarlet, but He makes them white as snow; He washes us with forgiveness, erases our iniquities, and remembers them no more.  The cross was a saving grace; the cross gave us a seat in heavenly places, an eternity of holiness, beauty and love with the Love of our lives.  





"The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger,
abounding in love.  He will not always accuse, nor will
He harbor His anger forever; He does not treat us as
our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great
is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is
from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions
from us.  As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him;
for He knows how we are formed, He remembers that
  we are dust."
(Psalm 103:8-14)



Separation plagues the heart and is never good; togetherness is good; unity is strength; separated "love" mars the soul.  The Lord Jesus Christ longs for His bride, the Church, to be with Him forever.  Earth is not our home.  The lover of our souls will come back for us.  We leave with Him only when the contract is fulfilled.  Salvation is the contract; we repent of our sins with sorrowful deep contrition; we are baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins; then we are filled with His Spirit and speak in tongues as the Spirit gives us utterance.  The contract is complete!  The love, devotion, honor, and obedience have prepared the Bride for her honeymoon.  Maranatha!  Come, Lord Jesus!

"At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.“

“At midnight the cry rang out: 'Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!' Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.' 'No, 'they replied, 'there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.' But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.“

“Later the others also came. 'Sir! Sir!' they said. 'Open the door for us!' But he replied, ' I tell you the truth, I don’t know you.' Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour wherein the Son of man comes.“
(Matthew 25:1-13)


NASA will tell you that everything must be checked and double-checked before the launch; all systems must be GO; and then the countdown  ...  10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 ... for the children of Almighty God, it's Love Him and then you can leave with Him  ... or "Tryst Before Takeoff."

"Your Presence, Lord!"


"Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?"
(Psalm 139:7)



In Your presence, Lord, is fullness of joy; in Your presence is the 
 harbor of calm, and ever peaceful Seas
Only in You, Lord Jesus, will we find contentment in the storms, 
 and a Garden with protective boundaries
For You, and You alone, O Lord, set the world upon its axis, cast 
 the stars into their places, and held the "dust"
There is none beside You, O mighty God; Your majesty enforces
 the universe; by Your Word is man made just
In the whispers of midnight, as breezes dance at Your hand, You 
 hover over us, watching as we sleep
It's the guard of the Shepherd, keeping away the wolves, and 
 ushering in His angels, to abide by His sheep
Then, we feel a nudge, and wide open are our eyes; it's the call of 
 the Master, awakening us to talk
By the light of the moon, and the glow in the room, we arise to 
 the lover of our souls, and we take a walk
It's a saunter of Vision calling to the deep; You want Your own to 
 feel Your pulse, and see Your dilemmas
O, the lost are weighing on the mind who knows all, but You long 
 for a heart, to see beyond earth's cinemas
"Come Away," You cry, to Your beloved sleepy "dust," and stroll 
 with Me through the galaxies of time
To the day when My kingdom is fulfilled, and war and peace have  
 melted into a new realm, so sublime
As we feel that awe and aura of another world, we are transported 
 in the Spirit, and the aroma is so Holy
The hours seem like seconds and we scarcely know, as You slip 
 away; but we reach to hold you, oh so boldly
As if we could harness the winds, the stars, the oceans, in one
 grab for our Creator; but, He lingers in presence
And we bask in the afterglow, the thrill of our souls knowing He's 
 still there, and that He'll never be absent
His love has nested in our being like a forever home, and we
 climb into His lap, when we speak His tongue
It's by His design; His Spirit was sent to fill us, and it's Joy beyond 
 measure, when it's spoken and sung
The Spirit of Almighty God has come to live in all human beings, 
 bought by His blood shed, on the rugged cross
Now, we're washed clean; He paid the price to take away the Sins, 
and rid mankind of all the filth and dross
Day by day, we long and shout, "Maranatha!" for the Lord to  
 come, and take us to dwell with Him in one accord
For it's where we want to be, with our Lord Jesus Christ, and
lifting holy hands of worship in "Your Presence, Lord!"

"Comin' Out Of The Prayer Closet!"




"Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with 
the Holy Spirit, looked straight at Elymas and said, 
'You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything 
that is right!  You are full of all kinds of deceit and 
trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways
 of the Lord?  Now the hand of the Lord is against you. 
You are going to be blind for a time, not even able 
to see the light of the sun.' Immediately mist and 
darkness came over him, and he groped about, 
seeking someone to lead him by the hand."
(Acts 13:9-11) 






We all know about the Miracles of the Apostles in the Book of Acts, but what about the other side?  Huh?  The stance against evil  ...  the Warrior who PUSHES the door open, and "comes out of the prayer closet" breathing fire, chasing devils, power blazing in his eyes and war in his dance!  Paul performed a "miracle" AGAINST the evil that was attacking them.  If ever the pulpit must PREACH against evil, against ungodly immoral laws, against the Sodom and Gomorrah of today, against the nudity and depravity, against the sickness of a society heading for Hell, against the popularity of the majority to bring forth the holiness of the minority, against the prevailing spirit of the antichrist moving in slowly and ever so slyly  ... it is NOW! We must remember that prayer is a whole lot of rebuking the devil; pleading the Blood, the Name, and the Word against darkness and evil; warring for the souls of men, women, teens, and children; fighting for what's right in the face of the enemy moving through earth seeking whom he might destroy, kill, and steal their soul, and PUSHING!


Preach it, Preacher! Tell it like it is!  Slice and cut with the power of the Word of God! COME OUT and PUSH with PASSION to save the lost!  Let the trail to the altar be paved with tears and blood!  Be a Paul, a Moses, a John the Baptist, an Abraham, and shake the world for Jesus Christ!  You say, "That's a little strong; what about the Love?"  It IS Love to pull someone out of Hell; it IS Love to pierce the heart and save the soul; it IS Love to tell the truth to kill the lie; it IS Love to be red with blood to become white as snow  ... It IS Love!

"It is a dreadful thing to fall into the 
hands of the living God."
(Hebrews 10:31)



It IS a dreadful thing if you're on the wrong side of calvary.  Huh? If one is a mocker, knocker, stalker  ... those arms are too short to box with God!  Paul blinded the one with the evil spirit that was stalking him, and in this last hour, the Church will do exploits  ... exploits of signs, miracles and wonders, but also the miracles that will thwart the enemy, the evil, those without honest hearts, those whose every effort is to get rid of the Name of Jesus, the Blood of Jesus and the Word of Jesus.  Jesus Christ made provision for all things  ...  this is a War we are in, and WAR seeks the victory, but also defeats the enemy; it's a concert effect of Savior and sword, Word and power, blood and Sin, Rivers and floods, Angels and demons, and Jesus Christ and satan!

"Who is wise? Let them realize these things. Who is discerning? 
Let them understand. The ways of the LORD are right; the righteous
walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them."
(Hosea 14:9)



What must we discern?  The times, the season, the rustle in the tree tops, the cloud by day and fire by night, the beckoning of the unseen God, the whisper to the soul, the headlines and prophecy lines, the "light of the moon," the nearing apocalypse, the signs of the spirit of the antichrist, the power given to the Church, the assignment of the Church  ... the PASSION needed for the job  ...  the PUSH to open the door and give Birth!

"They preached the gospel in that city and won a large number of disciples. 
Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium and Antioch,  strengthening the disciples
 and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. "We must go through many
 hardships to enter the kingdom of God," they said."




The only true enemy in this War is satan, the spirit of the devil, that for this period of time, is running rampant in the earth causing the pull between good and evil.  It is held back in a measure and somewhat by the Church, the warriors of faith, the Truth talkers and faith walkers, the preachin,' teachin,' reachin,' soldiers of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  If we think we're just going to waltz through those pearly gates without a fight, we just fell off a turnip truck!  It will be a battle to the end, a PUSH til paradise, a breaking til the Birth, a loosing til the last, repentance til we rise, and a War dance til we WIN!  "On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles."  (Acts 14:27)  We are in the Church age, the age of the gentiles.  It's time to COME OUT; with all the "coming out" the world is doing in their parade of Sin, it's about time the Church PUSHED opened the Prayer closet door, CAME OUT, and did some exploits!   


 Jesus Christ GOT UP and 
came out of the tomb!

"We Need Some Ditches!"



 
"And he said, Thus saith the LORD, Make this
valley full of ditches.  For this is what the LORD says: You
 will see neither wind nor rain, yet this valley will be filled with water, and you, your cattle and your other animals will drink."
(2 Kings 3:16-17)
 

"And it came to pass in the morning, when the grain offering
 was offered, that, behold, there came water by the way of Edom,
and the country was filled with water."
(2 Kings 3:20)
 

"And they rose up early in the morning, and the sun
shone upon the water,  and the Moabites saw the water on
 the other side as red as blood: And they said, This is blood: the kings are
surely slain, and they have smitten one another: now therefore, Moab, to the
spoil. And when they came to the camp of Israel, the Israelites rose up and
smote the Moabites, so that they fled before them: but they went forward
smiting the Moabites, even in their country.  
(2 Kings 3:22-24)



The King of Judah, Jehoshaphat; Jehoram, King of Israel; and the King of Edom came together to defeat the nation of Moab.  The Prophet Elisha was called upon to give a word from God to these three kings  ... a heathen, a heretic, and saved but erring 6th King of the house of David, Jehoshaphat.  Elisha called in a minstrel to help him get into the worship frame of mind to receive a word from God, and he prayed and heard from the Lord; the order for these three desperate waiting kings was, "Make this valley full of ditches."  Their problem was that they needed water, and the Lord always thinks a step further  ... What about the "vessel needed" for the miracle?  ...  Ditches.  The rest of this magnificent story was that they dug the ditches, the water came, the Moabites saw the water as blood and thought the kings were dead, so they headed to the camp of Israel to take the spoils, but Israel rose up and defeated them.  Another miracle of God brought the victory!


Let's take a look at the word "ditch."  It means "an open passage."  Miracles always need an open passage, an unobstructed willing vessel, a place to flow and take up residence, a place to multiply like the containers gathered, per Jesus's orders, for turning the water into wine at the wedding feast; and the containers gathered by the widow woman, in 2 Kings 4, to multiply the oil.
 

 

What if our vessel is not big enough to contain the miracle?  Huh?  What if God wants us to enlarge in order to contain the coming blessing?  What?  As my awesome Pastor says, "God never gives us just enough for ourselves; it's always enough for ourselves and others."  Maybe we are asking for a car payment, when God wants us to ask for a bus to do a church bus route.  It's always about the bigger picture with God.  Remember Hannah?  She wanted a son, but God wanted a Prophet; when she vowed in prayer that if God gave her that son, she would give him back to Him, God gave her a Prophet, a son. 

If we get the miracle we want, does it have an "open passage," a "ditch" that will allow the runoff into all the world?  Do we have prepared vessels to carry the miracle beyond ourselves?  Have we prepared our valley for the miracle?  You say, "What does my needing to be healed have to do with the rest of the world?"  Good question.  When we're well, what will we do with it?  What will the miracle enable us to do for the other inhabitants of planet earth?  What can we, then, pour into another hungry vessel?
 
 
We're all in the same boat, if we're in this beautiful union called His mighty and glorious Church   ...  we're just all tributaries in this "go ye into all the world and be my witnesses" plan.  The Lord is looking for places to pour out His miracles.   Why?  Miracles cause others to believe in Him; they are a witness of His truth, His existence, His power, and His love.  Tithes are required, the ten percent is and always has been God's, but what about the "blessing and Miracle" that happens BEYOND the ten percent?  That's where the windows are opened; that's where we see His handiwork; that's where Almighty God steps in and POURS OUT on "us!"  He said, "Prove Me!"  Give what you think you don't have; give over and above your tithes, give, and watch the "proof" flow in!  Hallelujah!  

We've been saved up to be sent out; we're filled with faith to let it fly; we're a candle building to a torch; we have a message begging to be a sermon; we're land dwellers with a passion to walk on water; we are filled with His power to electrify and empower the world; we have been submerged in the name of Jesus Christ to emerge as His eternal flame; we've been grafted in to sprout His promises; we are children of the King going about the King's business; we are angel bidders and we're devil chasers; we have come to the kingdom for such a time as this; we're a boy's lunch looking for multiplication; we're a desperate hand reaching for a garment's hem; we have an unction with no other option    ...  "We Need Some Ditches."
