"Train Them Up"

"Train up a child in the way he should go:
and when he is old he will not depart from it."
(Proverbs 22:6)

Pharaoh's daughter finds baby Moses in the bulrushes

Pharaoh was fearful of the growing numbers and the might of the Israelites, so he issued an edict that all male children born of the Israelites must be killed.  During this time, Moses was born, and his mother, a Hebrew, hid him for three months to keep Pharaoh from killing him.  When she could hide him no longer, she placed him in an ark made of bulrushes and set him among the reeds by the river bank in the hope that someone would find him and raise him up safely.  Pharaoh's own daughter came to bathe in the river, and saw the infant child floating among the reeds and she took pity on him.  She gathered him up, calling for a nursemaid.  Moses' own mother was nearby and since she was a Hebrew woman, they called her to be nursemaid to the child.  So, Moses' own mother was able to raise her child until he was weaned.  She, then, as was required, turned him over to Pharaoh's daughter to raise him in the Pharaoh's palace as her own child.

Can't you imagine that Moses' mother knew she had but a short time to train Moses in the Hebrew ways.  She poured everything she could into this little child, so that he would not leave his roots; she knew that the rest of Moses' rearing would be under Pharaoh's daughter, and he must never forget who he was and his real heritage.  She did a good job, because when Moses was full grown, he became very distressed at seeing how his own people suffered at the hands of the Egyptians.  It happened that Moses saw an Egyptian beating one of his fellow Hebrew men; he became furious at this injustice, and he killed the Egyptian who was doing the beating.  Pharaoh found out about it and sought to have Moses killed, so Moses fled to Midian in the desert and lived there 40 years until God called him to deliver His people, Israel.

Moses

You say, "Well, I know people who have raised their children in the Lord, but they're grown now, and not living for the Lord."  I say, "It's not over yet."  I know many, and have heard accounts of people coming back to the Lord, after they were grown, because of their godly upbringing.  You, parents of wayward sons and daughters; this is for you:

Dear Lord, I speak to the North, South, East
and West, and I say, "Give up the sons and
daughters that belong to God."  Move in the
hearts of every wayward son and daughter
of parents reading this, and stir them, shake
them, needle them day and night; send Your
angels to watch over them and draw them to
Your feet, Lord Jesus.  I say to satan, "Get
your hands off the sons and daughters that
belong to God; in the name of Jesus Christ,
I command you to loose them, flee from them,
and GO from them NOW, by the name of
Jesus Christ, the Blood of Jesus Christ, and
the Word of Jesus Christ."  Lord, let the sons
and daughters surrender to You now; let the cords
of conviction remove them from all sin, evil, and
unsavory conduct; let sleep be far from them until
they come to You in humble contrition; draw
them by Your love, Your power, and Your
hand.  Thank You, Lord; we call it done, in
Your mighty Holy name!  Amen.

You say, "That was nice, but it was just a prayer."  Prayer moves mountains, shakes continents, stirs hearts, sets up and tears down, heals, delivers, convicts, humbles, and performs what it was sent to do  ...  if you believe!  Prayers will seek out and bring home those sons and daughters; prayers will protect them and turn them.  You say, "But, my son or daughter is too far gone now; you don't know what all they're into."  God knows, prayer knows, you know, and that's enough!  You may have to lay on your face for several nights rebuking the devil from them, until you know that it's done.  This is a battle; it's a battle for your loved one's soul, and you may have to commit to prayer and fasting in a drastic way  ...  and when you do, you will see a difference and a result  ...

My daughter told me that when she was a teenager, and after she moved out and in with her girlfriend and her grandmother because she was mad at me, she went with some people to a club, but she could not go in; the other kids got mad at her, because she was so torn pacing back and forth, but could not go in.  What my daughter didn't know was that I had been on my face praying, rebuking the devil, commanding, and fighting for her day and night for a couple of days, and then I felt a "release" and I knew it was done.  I saw no results, but I knew it was completed and the battle was won! Later, she told me what was happening while I was "warring" in the Spirit!  It works!  And, we never stop praying for our kids, even when they're 60 and we're 80; they'll always be our little ones  ...  and God's little ones  ...

Guardian Angel

The Guardian angels are tremendously busy today because our families are being attacked, teenagers are being seduced, marriages are fighting to survive, people of all ages are targets to be pulled away from God, because time is short.  But, God's Word will not return void; it will accomplish the assignment; the North, South, East and West will most definitely GIVE UP!

We must train up our children, parents, in the ways of the Lord; teach them to memorize scriptures of the Bible, so if they hide it in their hearts, they might not sin against Him, Jesus Christ our Lord.  If we do this, the Bible says that when they're old, they will not depart from it  ...  and you can count on it!

"The Last One!"

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time
we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
(Galatians 6:9)

Ah, the Harvest Moon gives a little more light  ...  in the night. There WILL be a final number, a final soul won to the kingdom of God, a witness that ends it all, a last soul speaking in tongues as the Spirit of God gives the utterance; it will be "The Last One!"

The Lord of the harvest, Jesus Christ, is depending on us, the Church, to complete the task.  The Creator will touch "dust" once again, as creation becomes the Creator!  Huh?  WE are the hands and feet, the voice, the anointed touch, the very bodily presence of Jesus Christ in earth.  WE must reap the harvest, gather the sheaves, win the souls, preach the gospel, lay hands on the sick, raise the dead, deliver the bound, and "find" that last one  ... That's why Jesus Christ suffered and died, and rose again.  It may be America, or Europe, or Asia, or the Islands of the Sea  ...  What?  The last one, the last soul to be saved before the door is shut and time shall be no more  ...  How do we do it?  "Tears."  Prayer.  Work.  Spirit.  Organization.  Regions.  New Church Order.  "Tears."  Witness.  Love.  Forgiving.  Personality.  "Tears."  Go.  Kindness.  Passion.  Compassion.  Strength.  And, "Tears."  "Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy."  (Psalm 126:5)

"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly,
and whoever sows generously will also reap generously."
(2 Corinthians 9:6)

We're just harvesters, reapers, soul winners, people who stand in the gap, current good Samaritans, doers of the Word, the Apostles of the present day, sheave croppers, who are running out of time  ...  We work and toil for a heavenly soul winner's crown; but, the real crown is the lifted hands of a lost soul that lived under a bridge with no hope, the tears streaming down a saved face, the joy bursting from one lost who has just been found, the tongues of fire speaking from a mouth just filled with the Holy Ghost, a blood-washed soul rising from baptismal waters in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the peace saturating the smiling face of a loosed new Saint of God, the beauty of Jesus Christ dwelling in a new golden vessel of honor  ...  that, my friends, is the REAL crown.

"Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you.
Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you
know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."
(I Corinthians 15:58)

We raise the gospel of the Holy One, the Lord Jesus Christ as a mighty banner of proclamation over a world walking in storms.  The virgin birth, death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ is the ANSWER for a dying lost earth.  Will you be the last one?  Who will be the last one?  It's a sobering thought, is it not?  There WILL be a last one; the door WILL shut; the final number WILL ring the bell; the angels WILL stand at attention; the heavens WILL ready the trumpet; the horses WILL paw at the ground and pull at the reins; it's coming; heaven knows it; the Saints of the Most High God know it; you know it; the headlines echo the Biblical account of it  ... the last one  ...

"Therefore, since through God's mercy
we have this ministry, we do not lose heart."
(2 Corinthians 4:1)

It's a holy ministry of love, reaching out to a hurting world, and showing them the "eternal love" of Jesus Christ our Lord.  Kids know about it; here's what one said, ""Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK."  Yep, that's it!  O, longing hurting world, WE have tasted, and the Lord is Good!

"O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is
the man that trusteth in him."
(Psalm 34:8)

We have our assignment; our orders are clear.  Time is short, and the door is gently swinging on its hinges; the harvest is white upon the fields, but the laborers are few.  We have to, we must, endeavor to find "The Last One!"

"Jesus Speaks To You"

"And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain:
and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,"
(Matthew 5:1-2)

"Blessed are the poor in spirit:
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
(Matthew 5:3)

"Blessed are they that mourn:
for they shall be comforted."
(Matthew 5:4)

"Blessed are the meek: for they
shall inherit the earth."
(Matthew 5:5)

"Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after
righteousness: for they shall be filled."
(Matthew 5:6)

"Blessed are the merciful:
for they shall obtain mercy."
(Matthew 5:7)

"Blessed are the pure in heart:
for they shall see God."
(Matthew 5:8)

"Blessed are the peacemakers: for
they shall  be called the children of God."
(Matthew 5:9)

"Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness'
sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
(Matthew 5:10)

"Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you,
and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake."
(Matthew 5:11)

"Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is
your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the
prophets which were before you.  Ye are the salt
of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith
shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing,
but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Ye are the light of the world.  A city that is set
on an hill cannot be hid."
(Matthew 5:12-14)

"Flawless Faith"

"For therein is the righteousness of God
revealed from faith to faith: as it is written,
the just shall live by faith."
(Romans 1:17)

The menu "special" for this hour is an abiding, enduring, never wavering, all-consuming, powerful-standing, 'Come on, satan,' and 'Make my day!' kind of "Flawless Faith."

Noah

Noah had it!  Some say that it took Noah 120 years to build the Ark.  Can you imagine being laughed at, ridiculed, mocked and taunted for almost 120 years?  Noah's faith did not waver, because he had heard from God.  When the rains came, and Noah, his family, and all the animals were in the Ark, and the plank door was shut  ...  it dawned on Noah that not a soul would be alive when it was over  ...  but "he and all in the Ark" were spared  ...  his faith must have soared with a sorrowful, pained, lonely thankfulness ... Almighty God made His face to shine on this stalwart obedient man and his family  ...  only!

Mary Magdalene

Mighty Mary Magdalene had it!  She was one of Jesus' most celebrated disciples; Jesus cleansed her of seven demons.  She was the most prominent in Jesus' last days; she was present at the cross after the male disciples had fled (with the exception of John the Beloved), and she was there at his burial.  Mary Magdalene was the first person to see Jesus after His resurrection.  Her devotion to the Lord bespoke of her thankfulness, love, and faith in Him for what He had done for her.  She was forgiven much; therefore, she loved much!  Evil spirits were gone  ...  abiding peaceful faith drove her to follow, follow, follow  ...

Esther

Esther had it!  She called for consecrated fasting and prayer as she contemplated going before the King "unbidden."  It was a law that anyone who came before the King, not at his request, could be put to death.  The Jews, her uncle Mordecai, and herself, gave themselves to severe consecration before she finally took the steps of faith to enter the courtyard before the King.  Her famous words in Esther 4:16 were, "I will go to the King even though it is against the law.  And, if I perish, I perish."  Faith towers over the claws of death.  Faith endures to the end; faith stands in the face of death and persecution  ...  Faith  ...

Four in the Fiery Furnace

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego had it!  They refused to bow to the image set up by the King, Nebuchadnezzar, so he ordered them bound up and cast into a furnace heated seven times hotter than it was normally heated.  The fire was so hot that it slayed the men who tossed them into the fire.  Then, King Nebuchadnezzar mocked the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and insinuated that he was more powerful than the God they served.

Listen to the three Hebrews' voice of faith before they were cast into the fiery furnace, "..Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O King.  But, if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up." (Daniel 3:17-18)  The King threw the three into the furnace; then astonished, he asked his counselors, "Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?"  They answered, "True, O King."  He answered and said, "Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."  The faith-walking Hebrews walked out of the furnace, with not a hair of their heads burned, and they did not even smell of smoke.  Nebuchadnezzar said, "Blessed Be the God of Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednego..."

The Lord Jesus Christ walks with us in the fires, carries us in the storms, whispers to us in the terrors of night, holds us when we have no strength to go on, but through it all; our Faith in Him "brings" His presence, His peace, His abiding love, His way of escape  ...

All through the Bible, and throughout our own lives, people had it and have it!  What?  FAITH!  We see people who are mighty holy monuments of faith.  Mighty and powerful Christians all over the world have endured prison, torture, loss of family and Church, for the cause of Jesus Christ, yet they Stand; they persevere; they have not turned their backs on Almighty God.  When we know in whom we have believed, persecution only makes us stronger; and dear Christians, it's not over until the golden trumpet sounds.  We must hone our belief to a sharp glistening point!
