"Make Room For The Preacher!"

 "Now there came a day when Elisha passed over to Shunem, where there
 was a prominent woman, and she persuaded him to eat food. And so it was, as
often as he passed by, he turned in there to eat food.  And she said to her husband,
“Behold now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God passing by us continually.
Please, let us make a little walled upper chamber and let us set a bed for him there,
and a table and a chair and a lampstand; and it shall be, when he comes to
us, that he can turn in there.”
(2 Kings 4:8-10)

Holy is the man of God, who watches for our souls;
he keeps the guard, both day and night
He's the preacher, the anointed one, and the prophet;
he's full of wisdom, power and sight

His hands and His prayers bring resurrection to our
souls, our diseases and our woes
He is the persona of God in earth, the Creator's heir
of glory, with wonders to bestow

Blessed are the feet of him who brings good news to
the lost, and rescues the hurt and dying
He is the epitome of Jesus Christ, in love and care;
his character is holy and self-denying

He looks upon our children as his children; his eyes
run to and fro, for safety of his flock
Sleep is far from him, for his thoughts are the Savior's
bidding, and holiness is his frock

When we're overwhelmed and in need of Godly solace;
the man of God is at our beck and call
He's ordained for God's people, the Nations, and the world;
He is precious, and He's blessed above all

To heal the sick, revive the soul, preach the Word, and
stand the wall, are why he is chosen
He's the greatest in earth, the one to whom we owe our
lives, and for our souls; we are beholden

It's sad to know that people carry their burdens, when
holy hands stand ready and oiled
They could run to God's anointed, and the Blood, the
Word, and Name, would take the evil spoils

They're the hands of a pundit, absorbed with scripture, and
the perpetuity of a holy achiever
 They send forth eternal glory, miracles, and power; why would
anyone not "Make Room For The Preacher!"

"Bent, Spent and Sent"

"And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out."  Joseph knew all about hardship, trials, false accusation, dreams, and blessings.  He had dreams of his brothers bowing before him, and he made the mistake of telling his brothers about it; they became jealous and plotted to kill him, but ended up "selling" him.  He was bought from the Ishmaelites by an Egyptian guard, and became overseer of Potiphar's house.  The Lord blessed Potiphar for Joseph's sake, but Potiphar's wife "cast her eyes" upon Joseph   ...  and so begins Joseph's saga and long desert trial of being "Bent, Spent, and Sent."

Joseph, sold by his brothers

"Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they
brought him hastily out of the dungeon  ...  And
Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a
dream and there is none that can interpret it: and
I have heard say of thee that thou canst
understand  a dream to interpret it."
            (Genesis 41:14-15)

BENT:  Joseph had been in prison two years, and he was innocent of all wrongdoing.  "Bend" means to change or cause a change to direction.  Joseph's prison term was a change of direction in his life.  But, God was with him!  You say, "How could you be sent to prison falsely and God be with you?"  Glad you asked!  Bad things happen to good people; the rain falls on the just and the unjust  ...  we live in a "fallen" world.  You've heard the words, "the devil meant it for evil, but God meant it for good;" it happens all the time!  Have you ever been falsely accused?  I have, and it's not fun, but I was able to witness to a person high-up in the corporate ladder because of it, and I learned that "it's never about the trouble;" it's always, if you belong to God, about the "trial" of our faith and the "witness."

Pharaoh suddenly had two dreams that kept him awake, and he was told that Joseph could interpret dreams, so Joseph was called and brought before him.  Herein is an important nugget of wisdom: Joseph answered Pharaoh saying, "It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace."  ALWAYS: To God be all the Glory!  God will be with us in everything, but the blessing comes when we always give Him the Glory.  God gives gifts of the Spirit, but where humans trip up is when they begin to believe "they" did it!  Joseph was restored to be overseer of the household once again.

"And they took Joseph's coat, and killed a kid of the goats,
and dipped the coat in the blood; and they sent the coat of
many colours, and they brought it to their father; and said,
This have we found: know now whether it be thy son's coat
or no  ...  It is my son's coat; an evil beast hath devoured
him .. And Jacob rent his clothes and put sackcloth upon his
loins, and mourned for his son many days."
(Genesis 37:31-34)

SPENT:  Joseph's troubles began with his brothers' jealousy.  They were furious with Joseph's dreams that they would one day bow to him.  So, they wanted to kill him, but then sold him.  What would they tell their father?  They took Joseph's bloody coat and presented it to their father, letting him believe his son was dead.  One definition of "spent" means tossed aside, finished.  Joseph was thrown out like yesterday's trash.

Have you ever felt that feeling of being "discarded?"  Have you been "removed" from someone's life, through divorce, abuse, or separation?  It's the lowest most debase feeling I know of; it is despicable, ungodly, and what everyone in earth feels at some point in their lives "before" Jesus Christ enters on our scene!  Maybe you are a Christian and you still have those feelings because of situations or circumstances; look up!  There will be NO abuses, divorces, and removals in heaven, for those who are in Christ Jesus!  But, use your "spent" moments, in earth, as a witness to those who have no hope!  The hope of this earth is living a repentant life, being filled with the Holy Ghost and speaking in tongues daily as the Spirit gives the utterance, and being baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.  It's called Salvation!

"And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to
me I pray you.  And they came near, and
he said, I am Joseph, your brother, whom
you sold into Egypt.
(Genesis 45:4)

SENT:  Joseph's interpretation of Pharaoh's dreams was that there would be seven years of plenty and seven years of famine.  When the famine hit, Jacob, Joseph's father, sent Joseph's brothers to Egypt to buy corn.  Deja Vu!  Suddenly, Joseph's brothers were kneeling before him, not recognizing him as Joseph because he was sitting on a throne in kingly robes, and they believed their brother was long gone; and never in their wildest dreams would they think he would end up on a throne before them.  Joseph toyed with them somewhat sending them back and forth to their father, in fear, after their having been accused of being thieves and spies, but finally, they were told to bring their youngest brother, Benjamin, back to Egypt.  This tore their father's heart in two, but he agreed.  Finally, Joseph wept before his brothers when he at long last lay eyes on his brother Benjamin, and he told them who he was.  They all wept together, and Joseph brought his father and all his kin to Goshen to live in the blessings of God.  Joseph was "sent" before his family to bless them!

What about you and me?  We've been "bent" and "spent;" now it's time for us to be "sent!"  Why? To bring salvation to every corner of the world before the final judgment!  To preserve life!

 "Now therefore be not grieved, nor
    angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither;
 for God did send me before you
 to preserve life."
(Genesis 45:5)

"He Came, To Go, To Come!"

Mankind could not continue sacrificing bullocks, turtle doves, and lambs; the blood sacrifices of the old Testament only covered the sins for a time, but when Jesus Christ came; it was to "remove" the sins of the world forever.  The blood shed by Jesus Christ our Lord was the ultimate sacrifice  ...  He was the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world  ...  That's why The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us; that's why the Lord Jesus Christ was born of a Virgin and thrust Himself from heaven's Glory into earth's cruelty; that's why we're in the middle of the Plan and it is yet to be complete from beginning to end: The full circle of God: "He Came, To Go, To Come."

 He Came

The Lord Jesus Christ grew to about the age of 30 and began His ministry: preaching, teaching, healing all manner of diseases and sicknesses, casting out devils, raising the dead, opening blind eyes and deaf ears, doing miracles, and preparing for why He came  ...

To Go

The purpose for His coming was to go: "While they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.  And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said; Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven?  This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven."   (Acts 1:9-11)

"It Is Finished" were the Lord's last words on the cross, and then followed His death, burial and resurrection  ...  What He came to do was finished, so He left  ...  But, He said He would send the comforter, the Holy Ghost, and He commanded them to go to Jerusalem and "wait" for the promise of the coming Spirit.  "But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me, both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the utter most part of the earth." (Acts 1:8)

The Rapture of the Church
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive
and remain shall be caught up together with them in the
clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be
with the Lord."
(I thessalonians 4:16-17)

We're working on the completion of the circle:  I Timothy 3:16 says, "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into Glory."  The next and soon-coming event is the Rapture of the Church, which is "not" the second coming of Jesus Christ, because He does not come all the way to earth; He will "catch away" His bride, the Church, in the air.  The second coming will occur when He comes "to earth" riding on a white horse, with the Saints riding on white horses following, and He sets His feet upon the Mount of Olives  ...

To Come

"Beautiful Things .. Out Of Dust!"

"And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you,
and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason
 the holy offspring shall be called the Son of God."
(Luke 1:35)

Overshadowed with Holy omnipotence was the virgin girl, Mary,
 and she bore a Son; Jesus IS His name
He was God in the flesh, come to destroy the works of Sin, and
 heal the world of its guilt and shame
No man, nor movie, nor book could proclaim this story; it was
 inspired Word, full of power and unearthly Holy's
It still changes hearts, pierces the souls, and confronts the evil;
 it stands in the face of unrighteousness, boldly
He's alive and His name is Jesus; He reigns in majesty and
wonder; His arm is bared, according to Isaiah's book
This means the battle is His, He will triumph, His Word is truth,
 and the devil's a liar; you might as well look
For none can deny it; when one is filled with His Spirit, the
 'beautiful' becomes home, and "dust" has no hold
We become sanctified by His blood through repentance and
 baptism in His name, and His love for us unfolds
Almighty God became a man, to live and to die; then He arose the
 third day, sending back His Spirit to me and YOU
It was all a heavenly plot to rescue us, to fill us, and to heal us
 from destruction, and then make us brand new
He's coming back, You know, to gather His Church and we will
 escape the judgment, as we're caught up with Him
We'll meet Him in the air in the twinkling of an eye; this is not a
 fairy tale, a rumor, or an unfathomable whim
The Word of God spells it out in II Thessalonians 4 and 17; it's
 the blessing foretold to the saved and redeemed
It's for those who have obeyed His Word in Acts 2, Acts 8, Acts
 10, and "Have you received since belief?" in Acts 19
What a Lord and God we have, who comforts us with His Spirit,
 whispers in our ears, and holds us in storms
His arm performs the battle, but it still holds us in the terrors,
 protects us from harm, and keeps us safe and warm
Jesus Christ!  The Alpha and Omega, The Mighty God, the
 Everlasting Father, and The Prince of Peace
He loves the "dust" He formed and molded into creation, from
 the highest in this world down to the very least
In fact, He was born in a stable to prove He shows no favor; all
 are worthy of His love, His truth, and His pardon
He's preparing a place for us in clouds of splendor, galaxies
 beyond, and golden streets, in a God-made garden
Fear not ye sojourners of planet earth, for Your King planned
 your forever, with beauty you've never known
So, don't You put it off; come quickly to His throne; this is not
 something You can procrastinate, or postpone
The clock is ticking down, and the King of Kings is mounting the
 white horse; the trumpet will sound and we'll elope
Jesus Christ will come for His own, the bride and His Church; on
 this we can depend; He IS our blessed eternal hope
We have become worthy by His Blood, His Name and His Word;
on this we stand; it is our promise, and a must
Our Lord Jesus Christ was born, died and rose again for just one
 purpose, to make "Beautiful Things  ..  Out Of Dust!"
