"Levitical Holiness"

"Then David said, None ought to carry the ark
of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry
the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever."
(I Chronicles 15:2)

Levites carrying the Ark

"Take the Levites from among the children
of Israel, and cleanse them."
(Numbers 8:6)

The Levities were consecrated, taken from the first born of Israel, descended from Jacob's third son, their zeal against idolatry was cause for their appointment; they entered their service at twenty-five years of age and numbered as ministers at thirty; they were superannuated at fifty; and they encamped around the tabernacle.  They had many duties, and the elders of Israel laid hands on them as anointing them in their service before the Lord and the children of Israel, and presenting them to God as an "offering" for the people.  The services of the tabernacle were appointed to them.

Levi is the ancestor of the Tribe of Levi and the name is derived from the words, "he shall Accompany."  Moses and his brother, Aaron, were both descendants of Levi.  Levite is the name given to Levi's descendants through his sons, Gershon, Kohath and Merari.  The tribe was set apart for services in the temple, and for worship; they were priests, psalmists, and musicians, as well as a teacher and a pastor.  Levites were also involved in government; they were gatekeepers, judges, looked after the royal treasury; they were craftsmen, and they were also bakers.  The most important part is that they were, above all, dedicated to God and His commandments.

You say, "What does this have to do with me?"  That's a great question.  The saints of God must move on to perfection, meaning "wholeness;" the Book of Hebrews 6:1-2 explains:

"So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again.
Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we
don't need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from
evil deeds and placing our faith in God.  You don't need further instruction
about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the
dead, and eternal judgment."  (New Living Trans.)

In other words, we are kings and priests, a chosen generation, and we, therefore, have the obligation to conduct our lives as we have been appointed.  When Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose again, He handed all of the responsibility to us, His Church, to do the work of the ministry, to be holy and acceptable in His sight, to offer the sacrifice of praise and worship, to go into all the world teaching and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.  We should, now move beyond the first principles of christianity: repentance, baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.  We should not need further instruction about these things and laying hands on the sick; we now have become anointed in the gifts of the Spirit, going forth in Jesus' name doing the work of the ministry, as Levites unto God.

We, as Christians and Saints, belong to the most high God on the grounds of redemption just as absolutely as the Levites did, and through grace we accept this position.  The cleansing and holiness before God, was essential for the Levite.  So, we, as Christians must not slap the hand of grace by living impure lives.  The Levites were "separate," and so must we, as Christians, be separate; we are 'in' the world, but not 'of' the world.  Some take this to extremes, but purity in heart has a way of manifesting itself on the outside as well.  We must remember that we are representatives of Jesus Christ in all that we do and all that we are; the only Jesus people see today is the Jesus they see in you and me.

The Lord is looking for a few Levites today to march before the world in such a way that the love of Jesus Christ is manifested; the joyful worship of His name and His diety is presented; the offerings of sacrificial praise are exhibited; the truth of His Word is taught and preached without compromise; and the purity of His holy essence is still alive thousands of years later  ...  He's just looking for someone to sound the call and to come back to Holy ground, or "Levitical Holiness."

"If My People"

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall
humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and
turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
(2 Chronicles 7:14)

A Holy God stands at the door, calling for a holy people
to fall on their knees in prayer
For the sins of the Nations are rising as a stench in the
nostrils, of the One saying, "Beware!"
Men parading as deity, and gathering personal worship,
moves the Creator to sudden action
Fall, O Christian servants of the Most High God; fall
to the knees against this infraction
There is One God and LORD over all; He, alone, is to
be worshipped and adored
Truth declares to the Nations and to the world; there is
One faith, One baptism, and One LORD
Forgive our sins, O Lord, and cleanse our land; hear
our cries of sorrowful repentance
We seek Your face, Lord Jesus, and we turn from our
wicked ways; please pardon our sentence
Heal us, we pray, and cover the earth with Your power,
Your Spirit, and fetes of glory
For Revival is nigh and moving from Nation to Nation,
like a steady running lorry
Pour out Your Spirit in strength upon all flesh, we pray;
we feel the time and the season
Maranatha, Lord Jesus, Your people heed Your call;
the blatant sin is the reason
We will, O Lord; we humble ourselves and pray; it's
the calling of those under the steeple
You will see the obeisance, the humility and contrition,
to answer Your plea of "If My People."

"Glory For The Latter House!"

"That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season,
the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather
in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil."
(Deuteronomy 11:14)

Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Commentary says it like this, "for the early rain was necessary, after a hot and protracted summer, to prepare the soil for receiving the seed; and the latter rain, which shortly preceded the harvest, was of the greatest use in invigorating the languishing powers of vegetation."  Ah, the "latter rain" was of the greatest use!  The final days before the Rapture of the Church will be the "greatest" of all!  You say, "How can that be?  We are facing the worst of economic and terrorist situations than we have ever seen or encountered."  Yes, but God has saved the best for last.  The great epic Harvest will occur just before the Rapture of the Church; the gathering of souls will speed up and become BIG before the trumpet sounds; the UNITY of the Church all over the world will bring this about.  God will call in His own, and then we'll go home!

"The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send
rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands.
You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none."
(Deuteronomy 28:12)

Are you ready?  Ready for what?  RAIN!  The rain of the Spirit, the hand of God pouring out His Spirit in every Nation, kindred and tongue, the move of the omnipotent Holy One of Israel to provide for His own, the long awaited answer to Your prayers and the prayers of His Church!  He hears and He answers  ...  You say, "I've prayed some prayers for many years, with no answer."  Get ready, because Your answer has caught up with the intersection of Destiny and time  ...  The Glory is coming, after the long wait, in Your life, individually, and the life of God's Church. It's called "the latter rain" and Glory for God's victorious Church!

"Be glad, people of Zion, rejoice in the LORD your God, for
he has given you the autumn rains because he is faithful. He sends you
abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before."
(Joel 2:23)

You say, "Does all this apply to me?"  Are you a child of God? Have you obeyed His Word and walked in His statutes?  Have you fasted and prayed?  Have you believed for Your miracle? Faith has a reckoning day; faith has a day of recompense; faith flies on eagle's wings and lands upon the mountain top of blessing; faith walks with trust and settles in the beauty for ashes; faith answers the door when nobody's home; faith soars with angels and rises from the rivers of life  ...  Faith lands when the "rains" of God's Glory begin to fall!

Weeping may endure for a night, but JOY comes in the morning! It's Your morning time; it's time for God's Church to experience the Light of dawn; it's time for the world to look up and see the Glory coming down; it's time for sinners to turn around and view new life  ...  it's time!  Your strength from yesterday is gone; reach up for new strength, new JOY, new faith, new blessing, a new song, a new chord, and feel the rain of the New Church Order, and the beauty in the blessings of "Glory For The Latter House!"
