"Hunger And Thirst"

"Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after
righteousness: for they shall be filled."
(Matthew 5:6)

The time has come to sojourn with our Lover, the Lover of our
souls, for the days are dark and trying
We're fighting the devil and his imps, the forces of evil at every
turn; and our world of souls is lost and dying
"Come to Me," says the Lord, in the whispers among the shadows;
lay your head upon My chest and trust
I AM your only source of peace, your calm in the thunder, and
"believing I will protect you" is a must
"Walk with Me alone," says our Love, "And, hear My voice in the
night;" He's hovering close, during this groan
If we are afraid, it's our own fault, for His left hand is under our
heads, and His right hand embraces His own
There's light in the shadows, as we hunger for Him stronger; He
seems to wrap us in a cocoon of wonder
We hear the coos of our Master and the swoosh of angels' wings,
while the world hears claps of roaring thunder
As we walk alone with Him, He tells His secrets and His plans, in
prophetic nuances of His Holy essence
We are so speechless in the silence, with only His voice and His
touch, as we reach a pinnacle of His presence
Our hearts beat with the cadence of His voice, as He mentions His
love in such romantic tones, that come from above
It seems we have entered another place, holiness is prevalent and
earth's blackness is replaced with a white dove
Perfect peace surrounds us in this solitary place, and we dare not
move; we want it to last forever, and not cease
We've grown accustomed to His warmth and His gentle love to His
beloved, as we feel the burdens' release
If only the world could feel and know the Love of their Creator;
they would come running with no doubt
The Lord longs for that encounter with every soul He formed from
"dust;" that's what He's talking about
He can't help but convey His plea, while we walk alone together,
that we must bring others to Him, and soon
We're moved by His compassion for His lost ones, and we weep
together alone, with just the light of the moon
Suddenly, we realize our God is lonely; He misses His bride and
He longs for the trumpet sound, too
We know our time is coming to a close; we sense the morning
light pouring in, with sprinkles of morning dew
Clinging to our Lord, we cry that we don't want Him to go; He
says that He'll be back; He loves our time alone
As we feel that closeness lift, we pray love's sweet refrain, in a
lonely lilt of craving, and a sorrowful groan
He's still with us, we know, but there's something about that time
alone with Him; it pulls us to the mountain
On that misty aerie crag, we taste Love's perfection, placing
ourselves in position, under an overflowing fountain
It's what we will know for all of eternity one day, when He comes
in the twinkling of an eye, and whisks us away
Let it be soon, is our Maranatha cry, as we look up for a sign in
the moonlit sky, and we yearn for Him as we pray
But, still it's hard to leave that place where just the two of us
waltzed among the clouds, where God is first
So, we come back to the noise, the world and its woes, back to the
place where on our faces, we "Hunger and Thirst!"

"Waiting For The Mantle"

"He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him,
and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan."
(2 Kings 2:13)

What do you want from God?  Elisha wanted a double portion of Elijah's power, and he was told by Elijah that if he saw him go away, he would give him his mantle.  It happened just that way; Elijah was taken up in a whirlwind as Elisha watched, and the mantle came floating down upon Elisha.  Elisha then went on and performed twice as many miracles as Elijah, except one  ...  The Bible is true; at the time of Elisha's death, he was one miracle shy of Elijah  ...  Then:

"And it came to pass as they were burying a
man, that, behold, they spied a band of men;
and they cast the man into the sepulchre of
Elisha: and when the man was let down, and
touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and
stood up on his feet."
(2 Kings 13:21)

Slam, dunk, Score!  The double portion promise from Elijah, of miracles to Elisha, was now complete!  Oh, the Bible is incredible, is it not?  The word of the Prophet was complete, and hey, what a surprise to that man thrown in Elisha's tomb!  The grave had no sting, and death surely was a victory for him!  The Word brought forth then, and the Word brings forth Now.  Miracles still happen; Prophets still proclaim; God still performs; people still rise from ashes; and the Spirit of Jesus Christ is alive and well in planet earth.

The mantle of the Prophet Elijah represented anointing; the definition says it's a covering or a transfer of role or position.  It's the nature of humans to want more.  More of what?  Money, power, higher status, and everything that goes with worldly desires  ...  But, for the hungry longing Christians; we want more of the things of God  ...  More of the anointing, signs, miracles, wonders, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, the Spirit of the Lord, and we want money too, for the furtherance of the kingdom of God  ...  To be able to compete technologically with the world, for the purpose of winning more souls for God.  The Mantle  ... Who is waiting for the mantle to fall?  Who spends more time looking up, than looking down?  Who has captured the attention of a Holy God, and knows not that He's preparing to send it down?  Who will step out in "exploits," doing "greater things than these?"

Elisha, with Elijah's mantle

We don't have an Elijah to cast down a mantle upon us, but the hands of the Prophets of God still transfer power, still anoint, still heal, still bring miracles, still provoke deliverance, still  ...

Elijah and Elisha

Pastor Kenneth Phillips

The mantle is under those hands!  You say, "But, I live in another country; I can't get under those hands."  Request that an anointed handkerchief be sent to you from promiselandchurch.net.  It will be prayed over, anointed with oil and sent to you.  It's biblical:

"Now God worked unusual miracles by the
hands of Paul.  So that even handkerchiefs or
aprons were brought from his body to the
sick, and the diseases left them and the evil
spirits went out of them."
(Acts 19:12)

Elisha

The thing about Elisha was that he was hungry.  What?  He was hungry for more; he craved more of God; he was so adamant about it that he would not leave Elijah's side, because he was not about to miss his chance at the double portion.  That kind of hunger receives its reward even today.  When you're hungry, you will take even the crumbs under the table  ...

"The woman came and knelt before Him.  'Lord,
help me!' she said.  He replied, 'It is not right to
take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs.'
'Yes, Lord,' she said, 'but even the dogs eat the
crumbs that fall from their masters' table.'  Then,
Jesus answered, 'Woman, you have great faith!
Your request is granted.'  And her daughter was
healed from that very hour."

"And a woman was there who had been
subject to bleeding for twelve years, but
no one could heal her.  She came up behind
him (Jesus) and touched the edge of his cloak,
and immediately her bleeding stopped."
(Luke 8:43-44)

So Zacchaeus ran ahead of the crowds and climbed
a tree on the side of the road, confident Jesus
would soon walk past."
(Luke 19:4)

The woman appeared somewhat impudent to Jesus, so great was her desire for her daughter to be healed.  Hunger!  The woman with the issue of blood, because of their customs, was not allowed to be in public with her condition, yet she risked it only to reach the Lord Jesus and perchance touch even the hem of his garment.  Hunger!  Zacchaeus climbed a tree to call out to Jesus, since the throngs of people around him were so great.  Hunger!

It's the one who sneaks back to the prayer room after a wonderful service, because she just wants to sit at the feet of Jesus a little bit longer; they're turning out the lights in the sanctuary, but she's waiting  ...  It's the one who spends all day Saturday alone before the altar of God, waiting for the still small voice  ...  It's the one who is awake in the wee hours of the morning singing love songs to the lover of her soul, waiting  ...  It's the one who walks in the pasture, talking, singing to his beloved Savior, the deep calling to deep  ...  It's the man who is after God's own heart, who groans at a word, groans at a song, groans at the news, and groans for no apparent reason, because his soul is ahead of this world and this time  ...  It's always the hungry ones, who are waiting  ...

Who will climb the mountain?  Who will make the time to be alone with the Holy omnipotent Creator?  Who will come away with Him?  Who wants more, with a burning insatiable desire?  Who is expecting and just "Waiting For The Mantle?"

"Night Harvest"

"But it shall be one day which shall be known to
the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come
to pass, that at evening time it shall be light."
(Zechariah 14:7)

"The LORD will indeed give what is good, and
our land will yield its harvest."
(Psalm 85:12)

The harvest is white upon the fields, ready for the gathering, by the reapers, who are called the Bride.  The name of Jesus Christ is flooding the earth, like a mighty surging Sea and ever flowing tide.  As it was in the days of Noah is the adage of the day, and so, the "dust" is looking to the heavens; the distant sound of the trumpet echoes in the air, and among the Nations, causing wonders and end time questions.

Look up, O world, for the time is nigh, your redemption is
hovering right above your souls
Come now, warriors, it's time to traverse the fields, and
come out of the safety of your foxholes

The atmospheric pressure is conducive to a Spiritual invasion, with Spirit fire around the world. God's holy angels are shining crowns, polishing golden streets, and opening the Gates impearled.  A new chord is sounding in the portals of worship's winds, drawing Almighty God to attend.  His Holy presence is abounding in miracles, signs and wonders, causing heaven to descend.

As creation raises earth in the cries of joyous adoration,
for the lover of our souls
Heaven meets us in the middle, causing devils to flee, and
the skies of glory to unfold

There is no time or pause for procrastination, no time for falling away, it's time to be strong and full of faith.  The Church age is coming to a close, and the judgment is coming for the unrepentant and those full of hate.  Look up, O world, and rejoice in the God of your salvation; let your yea be yea, and your nay be nay.  Fence straddlers will not enter in; heaven is reserved for those who know the Truth and the Way.

He is The ecstasy in Spirit shaking earth to its foundation,
stirring Nations like a rabid painting artist
There's nothing to fear, for it's the Lord's Church reaping the
earth, in the Light of "Night Harvest."

"He Anointeth My Head With Oil"

"You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows."
(Psalm 23:5)

In Your presence, Lord, is fullness of joy; in Your Spirit is the
harbor of calm, and ever peaceful Seas
Only in You, Lord Jesus, will I find contentment in the storms,
and a Garden with protective boundaries
For You, and You alone, O Lord, set the world upon its axis, cast
the stars into their places, and held the "dust"
There is none beside You, O mighty God; Your majesty enforces
the universe; by Your Word is man made just
In the whispers of midnight, as breezes dance at Your hand, You
hover over me, watching as I sleep
It's the guard of the Shepherd, keeping away the wolves, and
ushering in His angels, to abide by His sheep
Then, I feel a nudge, and wide open are my eyes; it's the call of
the Master, awakening me to talk
By the light of the moon, and the glow in the room, I arise to
the lover of my soul, and we take a walk
It's a saunter of Vision calling to the deep; You want Your own to
feel Your pulse, and see Your dilemmas
O, the lost are weighing on the mind who knows all, but You long
for a heart, to see beyond earth's cinemas
"Come Away," You cry, to Your beloved sleepy one, and stroll
with Me through the galaxies of time
To the day when My kingdom is fulfilled, and war and peace have
melted into a new realm, so sublime
As I feel that oil and aura of another world, I am transported
in the Spirit, and the aroma is so Holy
The hours seem like seconds and I scarcely know, as You slip
away; but I reach to hold you, oh so boldly
As if I could harness the winds, the stars, the oceans, in one
grab for my Creator; but, He lingers in presence
And I bask in the afterglow, the thrill of my soul knowing He's
still there, and that He'll never be absent
His love has nested in my being like a forever home, and I
climb into His lap, when I speak His tongue
It's by His design; His Spirit was sent to fill me, and it's Joy
beyond measure, when it's spoken and sung
The Spirit of Almighty God has come to live in all human beings,
bought by His blood, shed on the rugged cross
Now, we're washed clean; He paid the price to take away the Sins,
and rid mankind of all the filth and dross
Day by day, I long and shout, "Maranatha!" for the Lord to
come; I have served Him with joy; I am loyal
For it's where I want to be, with my Lord Jesus Christ; He has
filled me; "He Anointeth My Head With Oil."
