"Glory's Price"

The LORD said to Moses, "Come up to me on the mountain
and stay here, and I will give you the
tablets of stone, with the law and commands I have
written for their instruction."
(Exodus 24:12)

"And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and got him up into the mount:
and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights."
(Exodus 24:18)

Moses waited, alone, on the cliff of a mountain, for forty days and forty nights in order to receive the Ten Commandments.  Waiting for the Holy God to appear is costly to the human being.  We are not accustomed to "waiting" for anything; we have fast food, fast remote controls, fast cars, fast microwaves, fast lines in the grocery store  ...  We are living in a generation which is not in sinc with a "tarrying" God.  We have much to learn about the cost of "Glory's Price."

The people of Israel got antsy waiting those forty days down at the base of the mountain, and they reverted to the sinful nature by molding a golden calf, stripping naked, and worshiping the calf, entertaining themselves with all sorts of erotic debauchery, while Moses was in a misty cloud like the Holy of Holies, the presence of God so thick he could barely see, in a realm such as people never enter; a holiness surrounded him and engulfed him so that he could scarcely breathe, so powerful was it that he was awed and fearful at the same time; it was the holy omnipotent angelic-abiding, ethereal climate-changing presence of the Almighty God.

"When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the
mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, "Come, make us gods who
will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt,
we don't know what has happened to him."
(Exodus 32:1)

"When Moses approached the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, his anger
burned and he threw the tablets out of his hands, breaking them to
pieces at the foot of the mountain."
(Exodus 32:19)

Who could blame Moses?  He had spent 40 days and nights on a lonely cold mountain ledge waiting for the presence of God, and then when the God of eternity burst through the mist with a profound unearthly motion of writing upon stone in a whirlwind of flashing electricity, the friction of the Holy finger etching with lightning strokes of power the Ten Commandments ... Moses was struck mute and spellbound; this was a moment when he wondered if he was dreaming, or was he really seeing what he was seeing  ...  It was real, the tablets of the law were left hot, and still sizzling from the burning engravings, in his shaking anxious arms, and they let him know he was wide awake.  He had been in the presence of the Almighty Glory of God.

"So Moses chiseled out two stone tablets like the first ones and went up
Mount Sinai early in the morning, as the LORD had commanded
him; and he carried the two stone tablets in his hands."
(Exodus 34:4)

Moses reclimbed that mountain to present the new tablets to a waiting God.  It happens today, that we come out of the presence of our Holy God to be suddenly approached with the sins, wars, hatred, evils, and abhorrence of life in earth.  But, "Glory" has a price; it's called going back again, waiting, abiding, climbing, obeying, listening  ... spending time alone on a craggy aerie.  Moses dealt with the children of Israel and their sin, but the price of Glory went up when he broke the tablets.  The Lord commanded him to chisel out two more tablets and bring them to Him with a wooden chest.

"I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets,
which you broke. Then you are to put them in the chest."
(Deuteronomy 20:2)

This was the Ark of the covenant, the chest, and it is symbolic of our hearts.  We hide the commandments in our hearts that we might not sin against Him.  "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee."   (Psalm 119:11)

"It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter."  (Proverbs 25:2)  "Glory" means a state of wondrous  splendor, magnificence, or honor.  God's hidden things dwell in a place high up, a place in the deep.  Huh?  God is high and God is low; we find Him as we bow low to steps one below the other; and we find Him when we climb the mountain and sit alone in the mist of cloudy aura; we see Him in the darkest midnight when His light breaks the ebony hues; we hear Him in the whispers of gentle breezes and in the shout of an oncoming collision; He IS the depth we must search and the height to which we must ascend; He IS.

You say, "What are you talking about?"  I'm talking about the price we must pay to see His glory.  Moses paid it, and He saw it; many today have fasted forty days, but then, just like Moses, we have to reenter  into the earth's atmosphere, and we're affected by earth's sin and evil.  Is it possible to reach a place of "in earth as it is in heaven" that continues on, that flourishes and blooms to a mighty crescendo, that produces miracles, signs, and wonders, that brings us to a revival such as earth has never seen?  If so, it will cost us all something, fasting and prayer; it will take from us, but it will give to us; it's "Glory's Price."

"She Prayed!"

Don't underestimate her prayers; they have years and years of
experience in the realms of devils and angels
Her Bible has wrinkled smudged pages of excessive use, and her
prayer shawl is just as worn as the nightlight candles
Heaven recognizes those groans in the Spirit and those calls to
come to her aid and the aid of her family in need
She weeps for her own and she weeps for the world, because her
love runs deep for those she loves and God's seed
The Angels come quickly; they're used to her pleas, and they know
she doesn't give up until the answer is delivered
She's a Warrior of the faith; her wrinkled hands and brow prove
her experience in warring battles and maneuvers
It may sound like a weak and weary voice from lips of wise age, but
the sound shakes heaven, and casts out devils
She's accustomed to attacking the second heaven and storming
through the Gates to reach the Throne room level
The Word is her power, along with The Name and the Blood of
Jesus Christ; she knows the way to the answer
She has defeated forces of evil, impossible circumstances, the way
where there is no way, and diseases like cancer
Nothing is below her faith line; she continually rises above the
snake line, and soars like the Eagle she is
She knows her Lord, His name, and He knows her so very well; she
is a vessel of Honor to Him, and she is His
She's a mama, and a grandma, and a lady of strength; she's fought
many battles and won; a warrior like no other
It's not hard to understand; she's like a mama bear protecting her
 cubs; she's a fierce-fighting, determined mother
Don't you be fooled by the wrinkles; she can take you down in an
instant, with her faith and power in the heavens
Her walk is sure; her word is truth; her fasting's are pure, and her
power comes forth with bread that is unleavened
Stand when she enters the room, for she's a giant, even though her
stance may be bent or small, and her hair is grayed
When she appears in your midst, you know 'All is well,' because she
prepared your way, you know "She Prayed!"

"Destined To Remember"

"And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and
said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you:
this do in remembrance of me."
(I Corinthians 11:24)

The flowing blood, the broken and ripped flesh, the spear in the side, the splintered cross, the soldiers, the mocking, the thieves, the robe, the tears, the lightning, the earthquake, the followers, the darkened clouds, and the cry, "It Is Finished."  That's what it's all about.  We, who are Christians, who love the Lord Jesus Christ with all of our hearts, souls, minds, and strength  ...  can scarcely think of anything else; our very existence and salvation depends on it; we live with the knowledge of it and thankfulness for it  ...  His death, burial, and resurrection; the price paid for our redemption, the kind of LOVE that has never been known, the sacrifice of God for our eternity with Him; the Lamb slain for all of mankind  ...  We are and will always be ever mindful of the eternal sacrifice; we are "Destined To Remember."

In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup
is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever
you drink it, in remembrance of me."
(I Corinthians 11:25)

The wafer and the grape juice, the repentance and the tears, the heart's sorrow and joy  ...  it's a mixture of ecstasy and pain, as we remember; we are so thankful for His blood shed to erase our sins, yet as we drink the cup; we think of His torn, beaten ripped flesh and we think no one should have to be tortured like that  ... and we're suddenly mindful that it should have been us on that cross  ...  if not for "His" blood and "His" shredded flesh, we would have no place in heaven.  If not for our Savior, our Redeemer, our Lord and King, where would we be?  Thank You, Lord Jesus; we will never forget  ...  In sincere and heartfelt repentance, we ask for forgiveness of our sins, before we take communion  ...  We must not take it "unworthily," meaning 'in an unrepentant and uncaring way.'  We are never as saved as when we have just taken Communion  ...  if we do it right.

The Lord Jesus Christ gave us the Lord's supper, or the Holy communion, on the very night he was betrayed.  It would not be until the resurrection that He would again spend time with His beloved apostles.  What was Jesus Christ thinking on that night?  The crucifixion was imminent; the horror of what He must endure was before Him, yet His mind was on His disciples.  He wanted to make sure that they knew that He was the Passover Lamb, that He was the lamb slain from the foundation of the world, that His blood would be shed and His body broken for them, and for all mankind.  This was no ordinary supper; this was the night before the world changed forever; this was an "eve" that would be remembered for all eternity; this was the still before the storm, the calm before the war over Sin would end in the blood-stained eraser to wipe out Sin and evil forever.  The disciples had no idea of the magnitude of the bread and the cup  ...  but they would soon be overtaken with the blood, the name, and the Word of destiny  ...

Jesus Christ rose from the dead on
the third day; He is ALIVE forevermore!

Lord, Jesus, we will never forget; in fact, our witness is based on it; our love stems from it; our hunger originates in it; our very souls are anchored upon it; we take communion to remember and to rejoice in the salvation and redemption bought for mankind with Your blood shed and Your tortured body "given" on the cross for the souls of the entire world.  We will never, never forget!

"When Jesus Lingers"

"After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time,
most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep;
then He appeared  to James, then to all the apostles;…"
(I Corinthians 15:6,7)

There would be no doubt that Jesus Christ rose from the dead, for
He planned His stay for 40 days, so all would know
He had to reassure His own that He always keeps His promises;
His Word is sure; He would prove it and then go
The proof lives on in the Spirit dwelling within us; it's the Holy
Ghost and fire that is shut up in our bones
All who are filled with His Spirit and speak in tongues know He's
alive; it's evident in the ethereal Spirit zones
We hear Him; we love Him; we know Him, and He lingers with us
even now, as we await His coming for His Bride
It's all over the countenances of those who belong to Him; it's His
name written in our souls, and it's hard to hide
He appeared to His chosen after the resurrection and He appears
to us in Spirit, with every breath we take in Him
It's real, this Holy Ghost and fire; it floods our souls with Joy and
fills us with His very essence; it's not a whim
His Spirit in us is Glory dwelling in mortal souls, a deposit of our
eternal Home that we're soon to encounter
We must hold fast to His promises and His lingering presence in
this time of earthly terror; we must not flounder
His hovering Spirit lets us know we are never alone; He said He
would never leave nor forsake us; His Word is true
That whisper in the moonlight, and that love we feel in Spirit is the
abiding love that is reserved for me and you
When He awakens us in the early morn; it's to remind us to stay
alert, for He's preparing us for our promised flight
It may be morning, night, or noon, but we'll fly like eagles to meet
Him in the sky; we'll suddenly be gone, out of sight
He never promised an easy road, here in our earthly "dust," but a
way of escape is His promise before the door closes
One day He will inhale and His Spirit will leave this evil world; it
will be an exodus for His own, like the day of Moses
We will not sojourn in a desert though; it will be a flight to the
portals of paradise, with angels as our hosts
It's wise then, for all who will, to repent, be baptized in the name
of Jesus Christ and be filled with the Holy Ghost
We feel the impetus of His promise as our hunger for Him grows,
and His choir increases with more and more singers
He's hanging around earth, in Spirit, as the clock ticks down and
we know the end is near; it's "When Jesus Lingers."
