"Cobwebbed Prayers"

"Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he [is] our help and our shield."
(Psalm 33:20)

Have you prayed prayers so long that cobwebs have formed on
your waiting dilemma, and your waiting trust?
Are you wondering if they've been heard, if they've even reached
the throne, but you know faith is a must?
Have you grown weary with repeating the same words, and asking
in that monotone voice, that's now not urgent?
Does your face have streaked places where tears have been, but
are now dried with little chance of resurgence?
"When will the answer come?" is your constant thought, and will
the Lord respond to this long prayed plea?
Is there a reason for this prolonged delay; should you lay aside
this prayer for another time, "what will be will be?"
But then, the moment arises when you feel they were heard; it's
only an "unction" in your spirit, and a knowing
It's like a cool breeze that suddenly brushes your face; the reply is
coming, and that you know He heard, is growing
The intersection of destiny and time have collided in your faith,
and you know it's about to occur at any moment
It's a bursting in your soul and an excitement in your spirit; it
can't be explained; it's a miracle about to foment
Your God has never left and never ignored your requests; He was
working it all out, as you waited and cried
His angels were sent forth to investigate the problem, and they
have reported back what they heard and spied
It's now time for the move and the blessings to fall; you've waited
long enough; it's a double portion that will flow
Coming down from the Father of lights, you can feel the rain; the
wait now doesn't seem long, as the winds begin to blow
You think back and you realize that the wait built your courage,
and you've grown in the walk, with a strong discerning
It was a sojourn in the desert of God's instruction, so hot and so
trying, but it increased your wisdom and learning
Now, you see that this period of wait was just a climb on your
knees, as you bowed to rise on the humbling stairs
They were classes of knowledge, the deep calling unto the deep,
and not what you thought, as "Cobwebbed prayers."
