"One Missing"

"What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose
one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the
wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?"
(Luke 15:4)

Oh, the love of the Shepherd for His sheep; He fights through
 winds and storms, only to rescue the one
He works all night long, traversing the darkness, his staff in his
 hand; he'll not stop until his search is done
It's the one lost sheep, you see, that beckons his heart, lost out in
 the midnight, waiting for the arms of love
He'll shake heaven and earth; let none get in His way; He's on a
mission; He'll move all obstacles with a shove
"It's just a sheep," you say; but, Nay, to the shepherd, it's like a
 missing child out in the torrents, all alone
So, he leaves the ninety and nine to find the lamb; it's like the
   seeking vision in prayer, with a tear and a groan
He knows the one is out there; His aching heart tells Him so, but
 He's flailing in the dark, espying for a sign
It's so like the warrior, fighting through elements and devils, to
 get to the One he misses, the One Divine
"Just let me hear your voice," is the cry of the Shepherd; I'll come
 to you in the moonlight, with arms open wide
But, the one, who is missing, trembles in the cold, his wool all
 tangled, and he's full of doubt and fear inside
"Where is my Shepherd?" is the bleat of the lonely faraway sheep;
 the world is menacing, when away from the flock
Every sound is an echo, like the Saint who waits for the trumpet,
 hearing the ticking of the end time clock
The missing sheep waits, straining for a glimpse of the Shepherd
in the winds and terrors of the long awry night
"Come, my Shepherd," is the Maranatha cry of the missing one;
 "Come; lift me swiftly; I'm ready for the flight"
The Shepherd's on His way, watching as He goes, battling along
 the way, and silencing the snakes' hissing
It's all about the love of the Shepherd, for sheep in His care, and
 His heart's thrill, when finding the "One Missing."
