"The Flesh of God"

"And without controversy great is the mystery of
godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in
the spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles,
believed on in the world, received up into glory."
(I Timothy 3:16)

One Version of the Holy Bible states this verse like this, "He appeared in a body.."  Luke 24:39 says, "For a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have."  Hebrews 1:3 speaking of Jesus Christ states, "Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person..."  Jesus Christ is the express image of God.  Jesus told the Apostle, "Don't you know me, Phillip, even after I have been among you such a long time?  Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father (or Spirit).  How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?

This is the mystery:  The eternal Spirit could not die upon a cross like a man; He had to make Himself a body.  He was born of a woman, a virgin; this is why He was called a "Son;" He died on the cross as a man; He Was and Is the Holy One of Israel, Jesus Christ our Lord, "The Flesh of God."

Why is "godliness" a mystery?  Barnes' notes states, "The phrase here means that God appeared in human form, or with human nature; and this is declared to be the "great" truth so long concealed from human view, but now revealed as constituting the fundamental doctrine of the gospel."

Jesus Christ is the only God anyone will ever see; ONE sits on the throne.  Revelation 21:5 says, "And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.  And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful."

Depiction of Mary, the mother of Jesus

A virgin birth is a mystery, and a Holy God being manifested in the flesh is a mystery, and the mystery continues.  The Lord Jesus Christ moves in the earth today through His Spirit, the Holy Ghost, and His Spirit lives in humans, the evidence of which is speaking in tongues when one is filled with His Spirit.  Ah, and what a mystery; it's glorious, beautiful, astounding, joyous, and oh so magnificient!

The Glory of the Lord has risen upon us, and His peace and joy reside within us through the power of His Spirit.  He comes to whosoever will receive Him.  Who will desire a "mystery" for Christmas?  Come before the Lord in sincere humility and total repentance; ask Him to fill you with His Spirit and you will speak in a language you never learned as the Spirit gives you utterance, and then have someone baptize you "in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ" for the remission of all sins.  And, the "mystery" will live on in You!

Through the Spirit of Jesus Christ our Lord, we have eternal life, and life more abundantly.  The Creator became flesh and dwelt among us; He gave His all to save all; He is not willing that "any" be lost or perish; it is His desire that where He is, we may be also; He longs for His bride, His Church; He's coming back for those who are looking for His return.  Maranatha, which means: Come Quickly, Lord Jesus!

Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, the One who Was, and Is, and Is to come; we cry for the peace of Jerusalem, the outpouring of Your Spirit, the fulfillment of all things, the consolation of Israel, and the sound of the trumpet.  We watch; we pray; we fast and witness; we submit and obey; we climb higher and fall lower upon our knees  ...  Be it unto us, O, Lord, according to thy Word!

The angels declare it; the heavens perform it; the earth groans for it; humanity reaches for it  ...  the holiness is unveiled, the illumination is rendered  ...  the universe shouts it  ... the mystery is explained: The LORD Jesus Christ: He IS "The Flesh of God."
