"Mountain Dwellers"

"I want my mountain, my miracles,
my money, and my Harvest."
(Pastor Kenneth Phillips)

It's always the same with those "Mountain Dwellers."  Huh?  They are "bulldogs" of the Faith; they climb in bad weather; they climb when it's not advised; they climb when they're weary; they climb continually; they climb because that's where they are the happiest  ...  on the mountain apex, in the presence of an omnipotent Holy God, in the auras of mist and miracles, in the auspices of mystery and glory, in the thunders and lightnings of power and might, in the confines of solitary aeries of wonder, in the quest for an ethereal encounter, in the search for the One who can only be found "High and lifted up"  ...  they are, and always will be, alone on the crag, and bowing.

And, when they come down from the cleft of the Rock, you can tell they've been somewhere  ...  Their faces glow with the essence of the One who IS the Rock; they are never the same again; their countenances reflect the power; they walk a new walk and talk a new talk; their steadfast prophetic gaze will stop you short; they have new orders and a new assignment  ...  because they've been with Him  ... God Almighty, the Holy One of Israel, the Alpha and Omega, Jesus Christ!  It's all about the "encounter," and what that humble, obedient Visionary received on "that" mountain ...

Ah, the mountain  ...  that place where you stand alone with God, that "ever ever" land of high altitudes and humble attitudes, that nest of the Eagle's lair, that still but sometimes breezy lofty rock of wonder, that place where His Voice renders your response, "Here am I;" that far away peak closest to the One who made it; that beckoning apex of unknown glory  ...  It's the place where Moses received the commandments, but he received so much more. He received the heart of God, the essence of the Creator, the Holiness of purity, and he returned with the glow of that One, who made the "mountain," all over his own face  ...

Mountains are not for sissies; a lot goes on in the presence of The Almighty God!  There is no question that a visitation occurred, no guessing if He did or did not appear in the midst of His own power, no debates about whether The One was there, who said, "Where were you when I formed the foundation of the earth?"   No, if you're gonna' meet Almighty God on the mountain, you better be prepared to be impaired.  What?  When you are suddenly in the presence of the Holy God of the universe, you can do nothing else but fall on your face, bow and take off your shoes, and humble your mere existence of "dust" in His omnipotent Glory and power.  Mountain dwellers know what's up there, and they must have it!

The miracles, the money and the Harvest are results of the Mountain  ...  the Mountain must be first  ...  it's the place of the "seed"  ...  Everything starts with a seed  ...  And, up there on the apex is where we're closest to Him, where we receive His orders, where the seed of the Omnipotent soul is planted   ...  amidst the billowing clouds of Wonder  ...
