"Water Walkers!"

Peter said to Him, "Lord, if it is You, command me to
come to You on the water."
(Matthew 14:28)

If there's anything this world needs, it's a whole lot more mighty "Water Walkers!"  What?  Water walkin' people are a different kind of breed; they fight the ominous giants with nothin' but a "prayer" and a slingshot; they call with authority on the God of Fire and He bursts from the heavens with immediate flames; they spend the night with hungry ferocious lions and use their tangled thick manes as a pillow; they rebuke the devils and they come screamin' out of people and head for the pigs; they're humans who have a superhuman anointed shadow that eradicates disease just by walking by them with authority; they sing 'Holy' in the darkness of filthy prisons and the barred doors fly open like keyless unhinged locks!  Ah, "Water Walkers" they are!  And, to them, "sinking" is a forlorn unthinkable afterthought  ...

Who are "Water Walkers?"  They are those who seem to do the impossible; they step out by faith and conquer; here are some of those who rose from their trials in victory:

Samson

Samson had his failings, but he knew enough to let his hair grow back, and he destroyed more evil in his death, "and his final prayer" than in his life.  "What does his hair have to do with it?" you ask.  The angel of the Lord appeared unto Samson's mother and told her she would have a son; he would be a Nazarite from his mother's womb and never a razor must touch his head; he shall begin to deliver Israel from the Philistines.  And, so it was, Samson was born, grew up doing many exploits of supernatural strength; then he met a woman and she conspired with the Philistines, for money, to get from Samson the secret of his strength.  Matthew Henry's commentary says it beautifully:

"See the fatal effects of false security.  Satan ruins men by flattering them
into a good opinion of their own safety, and so bringing them to mind
nothing, and fear nothing; and then he robs them of their strength and
honour, and leads them captive at his will.  When we sleep, our spiritual
enemies do not.  Samson's eyes were the inlets of his sin, and now his
punishment began there.  Now the Philistines blinded him, he had time to
remember how his own lust had before blinded him.  The best way to
preserve the eyes, is, to turn them away from beholding vanity.  Take
warning by his fall, carefully to watch against all fleshly lusts; for all
our glory is gone, and our defence departed from us, when our
separation to God, as spiritual Nazarites, is profaned."
(Judges 16:22-24)

The moral of the story, at least  for this writing is, in a manner of speaking, that those "Water Walkers" must remember who controls that mysterious ethereal thing that is called holiness; consecration to our Holy God can never ever be compromised, and one must "never" diminish the Holy power of the "ordination!"  What?  The anointed, chosen, called of God know what I'm talking about.  Ministers of a Holy God are precious to the world and a horror to satan.  Beyond that, we must "pray" diligently for our Pastors and Shepherds of the folds, for if we, the sheep, are attacked; how much more are the "ordained" attacked?  They, the Ordained of God, are "Water Walkers" like no other  ...  or, at least, they should be  ...  If You don't have one that is, Go Get One  ...

The Water Walkers, who take their oceans seriously, are fearless in the face of the devil.  They say things like, "Come on!"  ...  "Make my day, you lyin' devil!"  ...  The roar of a toothless, lake of fire destined snake, has no effect on one who cuts off devils' heads and dances in demon blood for a living!  "Whoa!" you say, "This sounds a little radical to me."  Well, hey, this article is not for the faint-hearted; this is for the Holy Ghost Giants of the faith who are ready to ...  Walk some Water  ...

Daniel in the lions' den

If you can't take the heat, then fighting the demonic war of the second heaven is not for you!  Power comes with a price; miracles are not cheap; holy visitations don't walk in on just anybody; angel's swords don't fight for the "prayerless;" if ya' don't want to see anything - don't worry, you won't; and pullin' down strongholds is not for sissies!

Samson and a lion

"You're sure talkin' a lot about lions," you say.  The devil goes about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he might devour.  The closer we get to the Rapture of the Church, the fiercer it will become.  The ploy of satan is to kill, steal, and destroy; he will take down everyone he can before we "fly."  We must be prayerful, alert, aware, equipped, holy, unmovable, unshakable, knowledgeable, on guard, and warriors who are ready to do a little "water walking" at a moment's notice!  You gotta' learn to "ride the waves," gotta' know that there's ONE who walks the water with You, gotta' have a made up mind and a 'faith it till ya' make it,' attitude, gotta' look every trial in the face and say, "Come on!"

Peter walking on water to Jesus

Remember, all this bravery of foot-surfing the waves is taking us somewhere.  We need to keep our eyes on the prize, Jesus Christ our Lord.  People can lose focus when they get so caught up in the battle that they forget for whom the battle is fought.  Humility in the walk brings power to subdue the waves.  It is never "us;" it is, and always will be, HIM, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, the Lion of Judah and the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, the incomparable Jesus Christ our LORD!

Oh, you've heard it before  ...  you can't walk on the water if you don't get out of the boat.  Looking at the mountainous crashing waves, the bolts of roaring thunder, the flashing strikes of lightning, and the dangerous consuming Seas, it's not so easy to get out of the boat to stand where no one stands.  But, that's what we do  ...  we Christians  ...  we stand when we've done all  ...  we stand and pray.  The boat is security, a dry place, a shelter from the winds, a safe non-gutsy place.  You say, "But, how long do we pray?"  Luke 18:5 answers that question, "Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me."

It's not for cowards; it takes a lot of guts, and stalwart fearless, dedicated strong prayer,  to stand against evil, to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, to lay hands on a stranger and believe for his miracle, to look the devil in the eye and hurl him into a herd of pigs, to touch a leper and love one who opposes you  ... to call on God, and He rains down Your fire, to speak to the mountain and it moves, to turn your back on sin and walk into newness of life, to defy the forces of science with the power of Glory, to leave the jungle of earth and walk into "Eden"  ...  it's called getting "out" of the boat  ...
