"Tryst Before Takeoff"








"O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you,
in a dry and weary land where there is no
water.  I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld
your power and your glory.  Because your love is
better than life, my lips will glorify you.  I will
praise you as long as I live, and in your name I
will lift up my hands.  My soul will be satisfied as
with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth
will praise you.  On my bed I remember you; I
think of you through the watches of the night.
Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of
your wings.  My soul clings to you; your right hand
  upholds me."
(Psalm 68:1-8)

A "tryst" is a meeting of lovers.  The Lord Jesus Christ is the lover of my soul  ...  and He is the lover of your soul!  He loves us so much that He was beaten, spit upon, mocked, whipped with razor-like shreds, crowned with thorns, nailed to a cross, His blood flowed like a river, and then He died and said, "It Is Finished."  But, He rose again the third day; why?  Because the "tryst" is not over!  He's got a lot more lovin' to do before "we" leave; it's called a "Tryst Before Takeoff."

"For great is your love toward me; you have
delivered me from the depths of the grave."
(Psalm 86:13)


Our sins are as scarlet, but He makes them white as snow; He washes us with forgiveness, erases our iniquities, and remembers them no more.  The cross was a saving grace; the cross gave us a seat in heavenly places, an eternity of holiness, beauty and love with the Love of our lives.



"The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger,
abounding in love.  He will not always accuse, nor will
He harbor His anger forever; He does not treat us as
our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great
is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is
from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions
from us.  As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him;
for He knows how we are formed, He remembers that
  we are dust."
(Psalm 103:8-14)



Separation plagues the heart and is never good; togetherness is good; unity is strength; separated "love" mars the soul.  The Lord Jesus Christ longs for His bride, the Church, to be with Him forever.  Earth is not our home.  The lover of our souls will come back for us.  We leave with Him only when the contract is fulfilled.  Salvation is the contract; we repent of our sins with sorrowful deep contrition; we are baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins; then we are filled with His Spirit and speak in tongues as the Spirit gives us utterance.  The contract is complete!  The love, devotion, honor, and obedience have prepared the Bride for her honeymoon.  Maranatha!  Come, Lord Jesus!

"At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.“ 

“At midnight the cry rang out: 'Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!' Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.' 'No, 'they replied, 'there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.' But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.“

“Later the others also came. 'Sir! Sir!' they said. 'Open the door for us!' But he replied, ' I tell you the truth, I don’t know you.' Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour wherein the Son of man comes.“
(Matthew 25:1-13)

NASA will tell you that everything must be checked and double-checked before the launch; all systems must be GO; and then the countdown  ...  10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 ... for the children of Almighty God, it's Love Him and then you can leave with Him  ... or "Tryst Before Takeoff."
