"Faith In The Storm"

"Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith
ye shall be able to quench all the fiery
darts of the wicked."
(Ephesians 6:16)

Keep flying Eagles, keep soaring weary saints, through the storms, through the fires, through the winds, through the rains, through the hard times, through the good times, through ALL times  ... keep flying  ...  just a few more days and we will rise above the storms, and take the hand of the Lord to walk with Him where there is no night, where there are no tears, where there is no disease, where there will be no thunders or war  ...  we shall stroll with angels, rejoice with the multitudes, sing a new song of Glory, and never another fear, never another trial, never another heartache  ...  just a little longer, dear one, hang on to the horns of the altar, stand tall in the Lord Your God, and above all, have "Faith In The Storm."

And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?”
Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea,
and there was a great calm.
(Matthew 8:26)

Hey, we can't be too hard on the disciples; we would probably have reacted the same way if we had been on that boat.  As a matter of fact, we "do" react that way now, on our own rocking boats, on our own wind-tossed Seas of trouble, on our own reeling turmoils of life  ... we cry out "Help me, Lord" a lot these days. And, the Lord most likely thinks the same thing of us, "Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?"  We're still mere humans in the face of an omnipotent infinite God, but He loves us as much as He loved them, and He rises up to calm our rocking boats, just like He did back then!

Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, “Take heart, daughter; your faith
has made you well.” And instantly the woman was made well.
(Matthew 9:22)

Faith moves the One who made it!  He knows what it is to believe for something that is not there; after all, He said to Job, "Where were you when I laid the foundations of the world?" He knows what it's all about and He is greatly moved when His creation, the "dust" formed from His hand, steps out into that unknown dimension, ventures onto the ledge of nothing, stands on a single strand of belief, sits at His feet in total faith, and SEES the answer that is not visible  ...  He loves it, and He responds!

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation
to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the
righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written,
“The righteous shall live by faith.”
(Romans 1:16-17)

Unsaved people watch us more during our trials than at any other time! They wait for us to "curse God and die" as Job's wife told him to do in his trial of faith.  They are always astounded when we "Praise God," when we have joy in the deepest of trouble, when we "sing" while the winds are roaring around us, when we worship as we sit in darkness  ... Ah, it is our finest moment!  Huh?  It is the moment when ashes are turned to beauty.  You say, "But, there's no beauty in it!"  Exactly, but the beauty is the Faith we exhibit when there's no plausible reason to believe!  It's because "we know" our God said that He would never leave us, nor forsake us; He said that Joy would come in the morning; He said that He would withhold no good thing from those who walk uprightly before Him; He said our faith would move the mountains  ... so, because we've been there before and God brought us through; we sing; we shout; we dance; we praise; we worship  ...  in the middle of the storm  ...  and it causes unbelievers to believe!

Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written,
“I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak,
knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with
Jesus and bring us with you into his presence.
(2 Corinthians 4:13-14)

There's a reason we're told to mount up as "Eagles!"  They have a mighty wingspan of 7 feet; they have 7,000 feathers; they weigh 7 to 10 pounds; they reach gliding speeds up to 70 kilometers; they reach diving speeds of 75-99 miles per hour  ...  lots of 7's in there, God's perfect number.  Eagles use the winds to their advantage, and sometimes the very strong winds.  WE, as saints of God, mounting up as Eagles, can do the same thing.  Use the Winds to our advantage! The trials and rains that fall on us can be a mighty "witness" to the unbeliever  ... show them we believe in our God "utterly," and because of that, we have "Faith In The Storm."
