"Famine In The Land"

"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I
will send a famine in the land, not a famine
of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing
the words of the Lord."
(Amos 8:11)

When people don't want to hear and heed the Word of God, it's time to don the prayer shawl and cry out with urgency.  Have we reached the time when people do not want to hear the Truth of God?  The Book of 2 Timothy 4:3 says, "For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine.  Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear."

People today mock at the word "prophet," and we 'are' seeing false teachers rising up, just as the Bible said would happen, but there are men and women of God today, who are used in the gift of prophecy, which is the foretelling or forthtelling, of things to come.  Are we in a famine of "hearing the words of God?"  Do people even consider the consequences of their actions today?  Is the "famine" increasing day by day?  We know the answer by the immoral parades in the streets, by the passing of laws contrary to God's Holy Word, by the image of "the days of Noah" right before our very eyes  ...

More than any other time and any other generation, we must sit up and tune our ears to the Holy, anointed, Truth speaking, Holy and prophetic messengers who say, "Thus saith the Lord."  The Bible says that as it was in the days of Noah; people were eating and drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage; and so shall it be in the day of the coming of the Lord.  Prophetic signs are all around us; the Bible prophecies dominate our headlines; however, they of course, most of the time, do not refer to the Bible in those headlines.  But, we who read the Word, who hide the Word in our hearts that we might not sin against Him, who compare the Word and the weather patterns, who line up the Word with events in Israel and the Middle East according to Ezekiel 38 and 39, who note the prophetic Word about a one-world currency, are those begging for "Rain," know what's coming.  What?  Rain!  Rain of the Spirit, rain of Words from the Holy One of Israel, rain of power and glory, rain of wisdom and knowledge  ...  Rain!

"How then shall they call on him in whom
they have not believed?  And how shall they
believe in him of whom they have not heard?
And how shall they hear without a preacher?
(Romans 10:14)

Do You have one? An anointed Preacher?  If ever the inhabitants of this planet earth on which we live needed a Preacher, it is NOW!  Famines of the Word occur when there are not enough God-called, mightily anointed, holy, powerful, ordained Preachers bringing forth the Word of God, that was written by scribes of old who were moved on and breathed on by the Holy Spirit of God, as they wrote  with authority, conviction, and power.  We need to pray for our Preachers as never before, for if we, the sheep, are attacked; how much more do you think the Preachers and their families are attacked?  We must cover them with a prayer shawl of protection.

There's a famine in the land if God's people are not reading His Word.  We must be "prepared and pre-prayered" as my Pastor says so eloquently.  How do we know what will happen?  What prophecies have been fulfilled?  What is ahead for the Church?  What will happen to the Nation of Israel?  Is America in prophecy?  Will there be a One World Order?  Is the antichrist alive now?  How close are we to the soon coming Rapture of the Church?  Now, you see why we need a Preacher, and not just "any" Preacher, but a Holy Ghost filled and anointed one, a praying and holy living one, and one who can reach God!  And, we need to know the Holy Bible and read it for ourselves, so that we will not be deceived.  We must not be, and we absolutely cannot be, malnutritioned of the Word of God.  The Bible does not leave us unknowing; we are commanded to be ready, by repenting of our sins, being filled with the Holy Ghost and speaking with tongues as the Spirit gives us utterance, and by being baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ  ...  We must be awake, alert, and looking up!

"See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks.
If they did not escape when they refused him
who warned them on earth, how much less
will we, if we turn away from him who
warns us from heaven."
(Hebrews 12:25)

Clarke's commentary says it like this, "Take heed that ye refuse not him - the Lord Jesus, the mediator of the new covenant, who now speaketh from heaven, by his Gospel, to the Jews and to the Gentiles, having in his incarnation come down from God.  Him that spake on earth - Moses, who spoke on the part of God to the Hebrews, every transgression of whose word received a just recompense of reward, none being permitted to escape punishment; consequently, if ye turn away from Christ, who speaks to you from heaven, you may expect a much sorer punishment, the offense against God being so much the more heinous, as the privileges slighted are more important and glorious."  That, dear friends, calls for an AMEN!

We need to be so fat we can't move!  What?  Fat on the Word of God, satiated to the brim with Holy Bible treasures.  The Word of God should be so hidden in our hearts that we wouldn't consider,or even think about sinning; we need to be full of proverbs, psalms, old testament prophecy, and new testament fulfillment, that the Holy Bible   permeates our minds; it's like fire shut up in our bones; it flows like a river through our hands with power against all manner of evil; it shoots through our feet as we claim the land; and it is the voice of God through our human mouths as we minister in His stead.  The Word  ... sharper than a two-edged sword, honey to the spirit, hot coals to the lips, and a groan to the soul  ... the Word of God  ...  It will keep us, guide us, convict us, nurture us, move us, enlighten us  ...  It's the voice of Almighty God speaking to us from portals of Glory.  What does the Lord God think; what does He want to tell us; what instruction do we need; what are our orders and commands  ...  they're in His Word, the Holy Bible; He has said everything that He is going to say  ...  we just need to obey.

We need a resurgence and an influx of Bible Toters, God Squads, Spirit Fire Breathers, devil Chasers, Hallelujah Howlers, Water Dippers, Heaven Bringers, Power Pushers, and Courage Carriers who will round up all the "Has Beens" and make them "Are Nows" for the cause of Jesus Christ our Lord!  O Yeah! Can I get a witness?  Hey, I'm not about to be famished  ...  I'm "full up" and glowing bright with the Wednesday Word, the  Sunday Word, Sunday Power, Sunday Worship, and 24 hour Jesus Christ; now, how about You?

God's Church is on the march, and we're making it our business to make sure that this last hour is saturated from Nation to Nation with the Holy Ghost and fire, and that the Word of God is Alive and Awakened!  We can't have a famine in the land when Holy Ghost flames are being left in our wakes, and tongues of fire are falling in every corner of the globe!  Famine?  Oh no, it's clearly Spirit upon all flesh  ...

  1. Dear Sheryl... what a wonderful and prophetic post. We truly are in the last days, His handwriting is everywhere. There is also a weeding out process that is taking place. For the time is coming when the people of God will need to be unwavering in thought and deeds. Thank you for sharing... May God continue to bless you and yours. Tim
