"By The Light Of The Moon"

"And God made two great lights; the greater
light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night:
 [he made] the stars also."
(Genesis 1:16)

The moon is a symbol of the Church; it's very fitting that a full moon walks hand in hand with Calvary.  The gospel of Jesus Christ is His birth, death, burial, and resurrection, and this is the message of the Church.

"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world
for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."
(Matthew 24:14)

Ah, the light of the moon  ...  The Church shall shine bright as the noonday sun, but she shall glow with the light of the full moon in the night season, and all will know  ........  "Know what?" you ask.  All will know what Calvary, and the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ, was all about.  The Church brings the message so that You will glow, I will glow, we all will glow with the full knowledge of Christ and His suffering, Christ and His death, Christ and His resurrection, Christ and His catching away of His Church, Christ and His coming again  ...

"Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the
world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he
hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead."
(Acts 17:31)

The Lord Jesus Christ was raised from the dead to first redeem the world, take away the sins of the world by shedding His blood for the world, and second, to judge the world.  Are we in the end times?  Have we reached the "appointed day?"  Does Jesus Christ have the right to judge the world?  yes, Yes, YES!  Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, created the world, and He has a right to judge the world.

"What does the light of the moon have to do with all of this?" you ask.  O, weary, war-torn, precious one  ...  a look at the headlines, a look at Israel, a study of the Holy Bible, an assessment of prophecies fulfilled, an unction of the Spirit, an urgency of the times, a rising of people proclaiming to be Messiah, an increase in earthquakes and sin, a move to squelch the freedoms of Christianity  ...  should we go on?  It's all around us, the time is now to get right before a Holy God; the time is now to receive the Holy Ghost and speak with tongues as His Spirit gives the utterance; the time is now to be baptized in the lovely name of Jesus Christ  ... the time is NOW!

"But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did:
"Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words
to the ends of the world."
(Romans 10:18)

Why the Church?  ~To give the world a Savior ~ To give the world the Bible ~ To keep the world from moral decay.  That's why she must be a light to the world, and the "moonlight" when it is 'night.'  Are we in a nighttime of our existence?  For some, it is very dark in their lives, no job, bad health, marriage on the rocks, teens out of control, investments lost because of the economy, gas prices through the roof, terrorist threats, nuclear war looming, nations against nations, civil wars popping up, and when these things affect some of us, they affect all of us.  Huh?  The dominoe effect is in place, because it's really a small world after all  ...

"...All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing,
just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it
and understood God's grace in all its truth."
(Colossians 1:6)

The gospel spread like wildfire when the first Church began in the Book of Acts and it is still moving and spreading like a consuming fire all over the world.  Why?  Because the Lord Jesus Christ is the only hope for a world on a fast track to Armageddon.  What?  The world WILL be judged; every man, woman, and child, will stand before the Creator one day  ...   "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" (Hebrews 9:27)  We must make our calling and election sure; we must know that we know that we are right in the face of God, and that we have applied the blood Jesus Christ shed for us by obeying the Word and heeding the gospel.  (See Acts 2, Acts 8, Acts 10, Acts 19)

"Since you have kept my command to endure patiently,
I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to
come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth."
(Revelation 3:10)

The Lord God is a jealous God.  He, alone, is God, and He, alone, must be revered and worshipped.  There is only One gospel; there is only One Lord, One faith, One baptism (Ephesians 4:5); When we obey Him and give Him our all, our hearts, souls, minds, bodies and spirits through the gospel and salvation message; we can expect to "escape" the judgment that will come upon the earth in the Tribulation period.  "Escape?"  you ask.

The Rapture of the Church
(I Thessalonians 4:16-17)

The Church will be taken out; we will rise to meet the Lord in the air, before judgment falls on the earth.  That's why we must "move to the light;" that's why the Moon and Calvary have a connection; that's why when we sit in darkness, the Lord has provided the "moon," the Church to guide our way.

The Lord Jesus Christ rose to give us newness of life, salvation, a hope and a future.  This is the mandate for the Church, the moon, the reflection of the Son, to GO into all the world and preach the gospel to all creatures.  It's time for us to arise:

"Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise;
when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me."
(Micah 7:8)
