"How Is Your Soil?"

"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living soul."
(Genesis 2:7)

"And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and
devoured them up:  Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith
 they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:  And when the sun was up, they
were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.   And some fell among thorns;
and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:  But other fell into good ground, and brought
forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold."
(Matthew 13:3-8)

It's not about the sower, not about the seed, but it's about the SOIL!  We were formed of the "dust" of the ground, but the Lord does not want us to remain dust!  Huh?  The soil is the heart.

"And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard,
Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have
heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;  And have no root in themselves, and so
endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake,
immediately they are offended.  And these are they which are sown among thorns; such
as hear the word,  And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of
other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful."
(Mark 4:15-19)

Do we allow satan to lie to us about the Word we have received; do we have depth of soil to endure hardship and suffering without blaming God; are we offended by the Word of God; do the riches and pleasures of the world mean more to us than the things of God?  It's all about our hearts, the Soil.  No wonder the Bible says to hide the Word in our hearts that we might not sin against Him, and that the heart is desperately wicked, who can know it?  We must pray that God will search our hearts, give us pure hearts, and let nothing be in our hearts that is displeasing to Him.  Why?  Because it can be our downfall  ...  We do not know our own hearts.  Who are we really?  Are we pliable as clay in the hands of the potter?  Which soil are we?  You say, "What difference does it make?"  It makes all the difference in the world for us to be able to "endure" to the end.  It matters all the way to the depth of our souls  ...  it will determine if we are looking for, and ready for, the coming of the Lord, or if we haven't a clue  ...

It's not a new thing; it goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden and Adam and Eve.  They let satan steal the Word and deceive them; their SOIL was not properly cared for; their hearts were not pure; they believed a lie and were cast out.  So it is today; we must be careful, especially in this last hour before the Rapture of the Church.  We must guard our hearts, our Soil, with all diligence.  The only thing constant, true, and pure is the Holy Bible, the Word of God.  Almighty God will not say anything different than what He has already said in His Word.  It is important to remember this, especially in this last day before the Rapture of the Church, because it is a time of "deception" such as has never been.  People have "itching ears," not wanting to hear Truth, but wanting sermons that salve them, instead of "prick" them!

In the maze of life, cling to the Holy Bible; it stands above all else; it is our roadmap, our insight into the mind of Almighty God; it is our strength and the source of all truth.  Hide it in your SOIL, your heart, because when satan comes along to deceive, we must KNOW the Word in order to tell him just what Jesus Christ told him when he came to deceive Him  ... "It is written..."  Every time satan came to Jesus to tempt and deceive, the Lord God said, "It is written..." and then He said, "Get thee behind me, satan..."

Dear friend, don't ever let the Word of God, the preaching of the Word, or the rebuking of the Word, offend you.  The Word of God keeps us saved; the preaching of the Word brings our SOIL into correctness for the Word to take root, and thus, we end up with "good ground."  Pray for your heart, that it is pure before the Lord who knows all things; Pray that it is clean and holy before Him.  We have a mandate to bring forth a hundredfold or at least thirtyfold, and we produce "in kind."  What?  When we multiply our soil, we bring forth soil like our own.  Lord, let it be good ground, we pray! We must have roots in Truth, roots in holiness and righteousness, roots that keep us stable when the winds blow and the devil comes to deceive  ...  we must know what we believe and "in whom" we believe, Jesus Christ our Lord!
