"The Last One!"

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time
we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
(Galatians 6:9)

Ah, the Harvest Moon gives a little more light  ...  in the night. There WILL be a final number, a final soul won to the kingdom of God, a witness that ends it all, a last soul speaking in tongues as the Spirit of God gives the utterance; it will be "The Last One!"

The Lord of the harvest, Jesus Christ, is depending on us, the Church, to complete the task.  The Creator will touch "dust" once again, as creation becomes the Creator!  Huh?  WE are the hands and feet, the voice, the anointed touch, the very bodily presence of Jesus Christ in earth.  WE must reap the harvest, gather the sheaves, win the souls, preach the gospel, lay hands on the sick, raise the dead, deliver the bound, and "find" that last one  ... That's why Jesus Christ suffered and died, and rose again.  It may be America, or Europe, or Asia, or the Islands of the Sea  ...  What?  The last one, the last soul to be saved before the door is shut and time shall be no more  ...  How do we do it?  "Tears."  Prayer.  Work.  Spirit.  Organization.  Regions.  New Church Order.  "Tears."  Witness.  Love.  Forgiving.  Personality.  "Tears."  Go.  Kindness.  Passion.  Compassion.  Strength.  And, "Tears."  "Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy."  (Psalm 126:5)

"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly,
and whoever sows generously will also reap generously."
(2 Corinthians 9:6)

We're just harvesters, reapers, soul winners, people who stand in the gap, current good Samaritans, doers of the Word, the Apostles of the present day, sheave croppers, who are running out of time  ...  We work and toil for a heavenly soul winner's crown; but, the real crown is the lifted hands of a lost soul that lived under a bridge with no hope, the tears streaming down a saved face, the joy bursting from one lost who has just been found, the tongues of fire speaking from a mouth just filled with the Holy Ghost, a blood-washed soul rising from baptismal waters in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the peace saturating the smiling face of a loosed new Saint of God, the beauty of Jesus Christ dwelling in a new golden vessel of honor  ...  that, my friends, is the REAL crown.

"Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you.
Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you
know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."
(I Corinthians 15:58)

We raise the gospel of the Holy One, the Lord Jesus Christ as a mighty banner of proclamation over a world walking in storms.  The virgin birth, death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ is the ANSWER for a dying lost earth.  Will you be the last one?  Who will be the last one?  It's a sobering thought, is it not?  There WILL be a last one; the door WILL shut; the final number WILL ring the bell; the angels WILL stand at attention; the heavens WILL ready the trumpet; the horses WILL paw at the ground and pull at the reins; it's coming; heaven knows it; the Saints of the Most High God know it; you know it; the headlines echo the Biblical account of it  ... the last one  ...

"Therefore, since through God's mercy
we have this ministry, we do not lose heart."
(2 Corinthians 4:1)

It's a holy ministry of love, reaching out to a hurting world, and showing them the "eternal love" of Jesus Christ our Lord.  Kids know about it; here's what one said, ""Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK."  Yep, that's it!  O, longing hurting world, WE have tasted, and the Lord is Good!

"O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is
the man that trusteth in him."
(Psalm 34:8)

We have our assignment; our orders are clear.  Time is short, and the door is gently swinging on its hinges; the harvest is white upon the fields, but the laborers are few.  We have to, we must, endeavor to find "The Last One!"
