"Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of
the river. Their leaves will
not wither, nor will
their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit,
because
the water from the sanctuary flows to them.
Their fruit will serve for food and their
leaves for healing."
(Ezekiel 47:12)
HEAVEN! It is our destination in the not too distant future. We will fall on our faces before the Lover of our souls, Jesus Christ our Lord, and we will worship for what might seem years. Then, we'll hold our loved ones who arrived before us; we'll shake hands with Paul and so many others, Hi five with a multitude of Angels ... then, we'll head for the River of Life, to dip our feet and bask in loveliness such as we have never known. The River of the Spirit of God that we depended upon so much in earth will be a makeup of our new bodies. There will be no more sermons, no more repentance, no more SIN, no more tears, no more terror, no more evil, no more death, no more pain, no more disease ... no more of anything of earth ... except the "dust" that we were will be new creations forevermore. And, we and that RIVER, the Spirit of Jesus Christ, will be face to face!
"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:
and ye
shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea,
and in Samaria,
and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
(Acts 1:8)
The Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance, is our RIVER here in earth; it's the flow of the Spirit of Almighty God into God's creation. We may have received the Holy Ghost 10 years ago, but is it 10 years old? The Holy Ghost must be fresh in us; we must speak in tongues every day, keeping the Spirit flowing in our spirits. It's a Holy circle, from the Holy God of heaven to mortals, and then back to God. It's a mighty River that floods our souls with Joy unspeakable and full of Glory; it's beauty and power together filling the soul and spirit of "dust" to make us more into the image of Him. It's the most wonderful thing you could ever experience in your life ... He is ready to fill YOU now ... just repent of your sins, sincerely and honestly; then ask Him to fill You with His Spirit. You will know He has when you speak in a language you have never learned; it will flow into you like a River of peace, joy, glory, comfort, ecstasy, power, and wonder! It's the oil of Joy for the spirit of heaviness ... it's a River that gives us "life."
He said to them, "Go into all the world and
preach the gospel to all creation."
(Mark 16:15)
It's that River of the Holy Ghost in us that causes us to GO, that causes us to weep for the Nations as He does, that causes us to love people, kindred and tongues, whom we do not know and will never see in earth, that keeps us awake at night praying, that causes our hearts to grieve when we see the anguish of hurting people on the News in other Nations and even in our Nation ... That River of the Spirit of God gives us God's heart, God's love for lost souls, God's desire to hold them and make everything all right in their lives, God's compassion for His creation.
"All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to
speak with other tongues as the Spirit enabled them."
(Acts 2:4)
Let your River be only seconds old; let it be fresh and overflowing to reach everyone you see. How old is our River? When was the last time we spoke in tongues? We pour from vessel to vessel, and as we pray for others to receive the Holy Ghost, God fills them ... and His army grows, His River flows, His Spirit bestows in hearts all over the world. It's a RIVER! It's hard to keep a River inside its "banks," when the rain keeps falling and the River keeps receiving, when the River refuses to say "enough," when the River wants more and more, when the River will not run dry! So, we worship; we dance; we shout our Hallelujah's; we bow; we climb; we weep; we rejoice; we hunger; we thirst ... always for more River, more and more of that Holy Ghost River ...
"Fill me, Lord, fill me to overflowing with the Power
of Your Spirit, and I will be a witness for You; I will
take Your gospel to everyone I see. Fill me, Lord Jesus,
and I will go and be baptized in Your name; I will hide
Your Word in my heart that I will not sin against You.
Fill me, Lord, please fill me!"
The question is:
How old is Your River?
