"Fear God, Love God, Serve God": "Away In The Spirit"

"And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment ... So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations ..." (Revelation 17: 1,3-4) John was on the Isle of Patmos, after having been boiled in oil, and with quill in hand, "he saw" ... Things happen when one is filled with the Holy Ghost and fire, or as in the old Testament, moved on by the Spirit of God as they wrote ... Things happen when we give ourselves to our Creator, yield to the Angels of God, and we go "Away In The Spirit."

"And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up

on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven;

and behold the angels of God ascending and

descending on it.

(Genesis 28:12)

Jacob's dream was a blessing from God, proclaiming that his seed would be blessed, that he would give him the land he was lying on, and that, He, the Lord, was with him. "And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not." (Genesis 28:16) Dreams and visions were prevalent all through the Bible. The Bible was written by people moved on by the Spirit of God. They were carried "away in the spirit," and with a feathered stroke, they wrote what "they saw." They had a quill, a vision, and a God who used them to pave our road ahead with inked words of prophecy.

Peter's Vision

"I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw

a vision, a certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet,

let down from heaven by four corners; ... I considered and saw

fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping

things, and fowls of the air. And I heard a voice saying unto

me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat. But, I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing

common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth. But

the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed,

that call not thou common."

(Acts 11:5-9)

Peter "saw" this vision and was given the "ok" to eat these things that were forbidden and deemed to defile a man. But, the Lord Jesus Christ's death, burial, and resurrection did away with the ceremonial laws of the old testament, and Jesus was saying it's not what enters a man's mouth that makes him unclean, but it is what comes "out of his mouth" that makes him unclean. (Matthew 15:11)

The Spirit of Almighty God, through mighty visions and dreams, gives direction, correction, instruction, blessing, destination, and prophecy. This is not some voodoo, horoscope, Ouija board, witchcraft happening. In fact, those things are evil and open the door to demonic possession and oppression; they are not to be played with ... satan is real; demons are real; evil is real ... HELL is real! There are two spirits ... the Holy Spirit of Almighty God and the evil spirit of satan. We must choose whom we let in to "our spirit." Don't play around with EVIL; it can easily possess us when we delve into it. Seek the Spirit of Jesus Christ; ask Him to fill you and you will speak in tongues as His Spirit gives utterance; be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins ... and He will preserve you!

"Do not turn to mediums or spiritists; do not seek them out to be defiled

by them. I am the Lord." Leviticus 19:31

"There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter

pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft,

or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who casts a spell, or a medium,

or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For whoever does these things is detestable

to the Lord; and because of these detestable things the Lord your God will drive them out

before you." Deuteronomy 18:10-12

"You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead, nor make any tattoo marks on

yourselves: I am the Lord." Leviticus 19:28

"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication (sex before

marriage), uncleanness, lasciviousness (lewd, erotic), idolatry, witchcraft, hatred,

discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambitions, dissentions, factions and envy,

drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before that those who live like

this will not inherit the kingdom of God." Galatians 5:19-21

The Spirit of Almighty God is Holy, and it is the "only" Spirit we should seek. You say, "I have tattoos; does that mean God doesn't love me?" No, it means you are in disobedience to the Word of God. He forgives sin, when we ask Him in sincere and deep repentance. If you're reading this and considering getting a tattoo ... Reconsider! These practices noted above were heathenistic; God created our bodies and in His eyes, they are a thing of beauty.

The Spirit of God brings life, beauty and blessing. Young people today, if led to God, are ripe for visions. "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams." (Acts 2:17) Notice this is preceded with being filled with the Spirit of God.

Children can be filled with the Holy Ghost, and I have seen it ... if you have never seen a group of children speaking in a language they never learned, their little arms raised to God, their faces glowing under the omnipotent presence of God, their innocent eyes closed with tears of ecstasy flowing ... well, you have missed it .... Myself, along with many parents stood in awe watching this phenomenon of Glory; I turned, and all the parents had tears streaming down their faces, men and women alike ... the power of God ... always a wonder to mortal humans.

We began this writing with John "seeing" the Nations making war with the Lamb, and the Lamb, Jesus Christ our Lord, overcame them, for He is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. John also saw the New Jerusalem, a new heaven and a new earth. Ah, the Glory of the ethereal happenings in the Spirit ... "as I turned, I saw" ... "I considered and saw" ... "I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day .. I turned to see" ... It's all about being in the Spirit, but first we must be filled with the Spirit ... then, we can be carried "Away In The Spirit."
