"The God of Daniel!"

Then King Darius wrote: To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in
all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you. I make a decree that in every dominion
of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He
is the living God, and steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not
be destroyed, and His dominion shall endure to the end. He delivers and rescues,
and He works signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, who has delivered
Daniel from the power of the lions. So this Daniel prospered in the reign of
Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
(Daniel Chapter 6)

We, who are saints of the Almighty God, stand with the Angels and salute OUR God!  That's what it's all about  ...  Our Faith has to be so evident that it causes all peoples, nations, kindred, and tongues to say those words that King Darius said.  When we receive Miracles, when our God comes through for us, when He makes a way where there is no way, when victory rains down upon us, when we rise with beauty from our ashes  ... Ah, they're watching, you know!  The world watches the people of God closely; they want to see what we do, what we say, how we act, whether our joy leaves, if we pout, if we grow angry, and if we lose faith when the trial hits  ... when the trouble comes, when we lost our job, when we are accused falsely, when disease ravages us, when the husband or wife walks out  ... they're watching  ... and they're ready to pounce and say, "See, where is Your God now?"  But, alas, there are a few Daniel's in the land; there are a few that will not bow, will not cave in, will not give up, will not curse their God and die, will not lose their joy, but who Worship louder, Praise stronger, Leap higher, Dance faster, Rejoice mightier, and Love Him MORE!  This confounds the unbeliever  ... and converts them!

Oh that Daniel, having a slumber party with a bunch of hungry lions  ...  and what does he do?  He turns his back on them and looks toward His God in worship!  If you are a saint of Almighty God, if you have prayed for years, if you abide in Jesus Christ and He abides in you, and your world starts to fall apart  ...  debt, disease, marriage problems, teen woes, job loss, fearful times, persecution, riots all around, uncertainty and great need  ...  What do you do?  You do what Daniel did; you trust in Your God; you worship Him with all of your might, you lean on Him and call upon Him, you praise Him "in" it, not for it, but "in" it!  If He doesn't remove the storm, He will carry you through it!

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord.
“They are plans for good and not for disaster,
to give you a future and a hope."
(Jeremiah 29:11)

Keep looking up, weary warrior of God, keep the faith, keep your eyes fixed on the One who knows the beginning from the end, who holds the world in His hands, who whispers and gentle rains fall, who smiles and the dove lands on our park bench, who sends the brush of angels' wings and the winds of change, who in a moment can stop the world on its axis  ... for You!  He loves you; Jesus Christ, the Holy One of Israel, loves You!

'Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me,
and I will listen to you.…"
(Jeremiah 29:12)

The God of Daniel is OUR God!  He's Your God and My God, and He cares, He loves, He hears, He comes to our rescue  ...  and the world sees  ...  The tougher things get in this world of end times, the more the world watches us; they don't know where to turn, but when they see OUR God come through for us, by OUR faith, it stirs them, moves them and draws them.  My very first service at PromiseLand Church, back then it was World of Pentecost before we enlarged and it became PromiseLand, I did nothing but watch all the people.  I didn't even hear what was preached; I just stood there and looked around at all the joyful people.  They were genuinely happy!  I couldn't believe anyone could be that happy! They were worshiping and the joy upon their faces was real, the tears falling for some were real, the feeling in the place was real, the unmistakable presence of Almighty God was REAL!  And, 36 years later, I'm still astounded, but right in the middle of it!  There have been valleys, heartaches, trauma, terror, disease, job loss, marriage trouble, teen trouble  ...  all of it, but through it all  ...  I SAID, "THROUGH IT ALL," I've learned to trust in Jesus; I've learned to trust in God!  That's how the song goes, and that's how life in Jesus goes!

"Many, LORD my God, are the wonders you have done, the things
you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell
of your deeds, they would be too many to declare."
(Psalm 40:5)

He's wonderful, glorious, so loving, and His presence cannot be described in human words  ...  that's why the Holy Ghost was sent back to us in the form of His Spirit; it's His language  ...  we are speaking to Him when we speak in tongues as His Spirit gives us utterance.  The answer for all the world's problems is absolutely Jesus Christ.  He made it  ... He can fix it  ... the world is His!  He IS the Creator, and we are the "dust" He formed into man; He IS the breath and the life of all humanity; He IS wisdom of the ages; He IS the solution for a dying and lost world  ...  HE IS!

King Darius found God through Daniel!  Ah, The God of Daniel still lives  ...  the Spirit became flesh and dwelt among us.  "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory."  (I Timothy 3:16)  Who did all that?  The Lord Jesus Christ!  He Was, He IS, He IS to Come!  ...  "The God of Daniel!"

"Pie In The Sky"

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen."
(Hebrews 11:1)

Leaping out on nothing to catch the elusive fleeting rainbow, to obtain the unobtainable, to make possible the impossible, to grasp the unknown into the known, is tough; it's called faith.  Some would call this kind of faith ridiculous, gullible, and that it's like hoping for "Pie In The Sky."

"Faith is flying a kite with no strings attached.."
(Pastor Kenneth Phillips)

It's the very foundation of all we believe; it's the stalwart stability in our wavering wondering minds; it is the Word hidden in our hearts; it's the strength when we're blinded to the vision; it's the foothold when our leaps have no ground; it bears us up when falling consumes us; it is the voice of reason when silence is prevailing; it lifts us to portals of glory in our fields of weeds posing as blooms; it is the impetus of beauty in the midst of dark moments of mist  ...  Faith  ...  gotta' have it, and gotta' have it like a little child, to please Him.  Him who? The Lord Jesus Christ and the One in whom faith is personified, our soon coming King, the Alpha and Omega, the Holy One of Israel, our Savior!

The Lord Jesus Christ holds out His hand to gather us unto Himself, and we go to Him by faith.  We give our hearts to Him; we're baptized in His name, and filled with the Holy Ghost, by faith, faith that the Holy Bible is true and the Spirit moving within us will preserve us, protect us, and that where He is, we may be also.  It's all by faith.  Everybody has a measure of faith, or you wouldn't enter a building without thinking it would collapse upon you, or you wouldn't fly in a plane, or do anything in this life, without tremendous fear.  We DO have faith in our surroundings, in our coming paychecks, in our continuing electricity, and the list goes on and on.  So, faith in God is just a step further.  We must believe that He IS, and He will reward us for our faith.

"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to
God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of
them that diligently seek him."
(Hebrews 11:6)

Ah, it's a wonderful, elusive journey, this thing called Faith!  You say, "How could it be wonderful, not knowing where you're going or what's going to happen?"  That's just it; Faith is seeing where you're going when you can't see it, knowing where you're going when you don't know it, believing for your miracle when there's no evidence of it, knowing you're going up in the Rapture just because you've obeyed His Word, not doubting Jesus Christ will help you because you belong to Him, and standing on the Word that says "no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly before Him."  It's powerful, this thing called Faith!

Faith means going where no one's gone before sometimes; Faith is believing the voice of God when you've tested it and you know it was God; Faith strengthens us; Faith sees us through; Faith dries our tears; Faith says YOU can make it!  If the Word of God said it, we believe it!  We have example after example in the Bible of people walking by faith and making it, of people facing sure death, but they fasted and prayed, and by faith, they won!  Can we say it?  Say what?  "I will not bow to your idols; throw me in the furnace if you will, but I will not bow, because my Lord will deliver me.  But, even if He doesn't deliver me, I will not bow!"  What about Queen Esther?  She risked her life to save the Jews.  Ah, Faith!!

Hey, stand upon Your mountain and take it, by Faith!  What are you facing?  What are you going through?  We are secure in the Bible, by His Name, by His Blood, and By His Word!  We are defeated by the words of our own mouths.  "Can't" never did do nothin'!  With God on your side, you are a majority; with multitudes of angels flanking you, you have reinforcements; with the blood of Jesus and the stripes on His back, You ARE healed; with the anointed power of prayer over you, You will conquer.  You have to believe it!  Faith, Faith, Faith  ...  just a little bit of Faith!

It's a trek into the clouds, a staircase leading to the throne of God, a walk holding on to nothing until it becomes something, a blessed stroll through the place that pleases God most  ...  What?  Faith.  He loves it; He looks for it in everyone who serves Him; He tests us in it; He uses us to accomplish it; He increases it in us as we reach for more  ...  He loves it  ...  Faith.

But, there's a catch.  Huh?  Faith has no banisters, no doorknobs, no handrails, no canes, no braces, no handles, "No Strings;" that's why it's called Faith  ...  Guess what?  "Pi is the Greek letter that stands for the relationship between the diameter of a circle, and the circumference of same. It's about 3.14159 and change. In other words, the distance AROUND a circle is about three times the distance Across that same circle, to the (edge to edge through the center).  This ratio is CONSTANT, no matter how big the circle."  Ah, there it is!  Jesus Christ sits upon the "circle" of the earth; He is Infinite, the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, Eternal and Omnipotent  ...  We put our Faith in Him, so go ahead, say it!  You're just believing in "Pi" in the Sky.

"FEAR NOT!"

“But while he thought on these things, behold,
the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream,
saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take
unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived
in her is of the Holy Ghost.”
(Matthew 1:20)

Can we sleep in the midst of terror; can we have peace when the world all around us is shaking, quaking, and being invaded with killers; can we rest on a soft pillow when we know it's come to the end of the Age? The answer is yes, Yes, and YES!  Joseph was about to marry a girl who insists she is "with child" of the Holy Ghost, and when he lay down that night in a restless, doubtful, confused sleep, his tormented dreams were interrupted with the presence of an angel.  Angels still interrupt, still visit, still hover, still guard, still bring those wonderful, powerful, beautiful, calming, ethereal, welcoming words, "FEAR NOT!"

We are to mount up as Eagles and be strong, but it feels like we're flying in the darkest time of the night  ...  But, wait, there's a glow, a piercing brilliant light guiding our way, bringing warmth and comfort, resting its aura upon our troubled brows, and we can hear a whisper wafting through the winds.  It's the voice of our Beloved, the caressing tone of the Lover of our souls, the echo from the eternal, saying "FEAR NOT!"

We are not alone; as we gaze at our reflections, there's ONE who gazes upon us, who watches while we sleep, orders our steps, plots our assignments, carries us in the storms, goes before us and prepares our way, and He knows all, sees all, guides all, IS all, and orchestrates all; He holds the keys to death, Hell, and the grave  ...  We're in good hands, the hands of our mighty Lord Jesus Christ!  He protects us, stands up for us, covers us, and nothing shall come nigh us without His permission.  That is, if we BELONG to Him, if we have repented, received the Holy Ghost and spoken in tongues as His Spirit gave us the utterance, if we have been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins  ...  then we can count on His provision, His hand, His protection, His angels, His "Fear Not!"

He holds the world in His hands; the earth is His footstool; He sits upon the corner of the earth; He blinks and the winds roar; He stands and the heavens thunder; He turns and the rains fall  ...  He IS!  Knowing this, the created "dust" is wise to rebuke those fears, and replace them with faith in the Creator of that dust.  We shall behold Him coming in the clouds; He will set His feet on the Mount of Olives once again; He will raise His arms and we will study War no more  ...  He IS the Lord God Almighty, the HOLY One of Israel, the great and mighty King, Jesus Christ our Lord, and He holds the universe in HIS omnipotent infinite hands  ... So, "FEAR NOT!"
