"Servant, Savior, Sovereign"

"And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples, 2 And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him. 3 And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither. 4 And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him."
(Mark 11:1-4)

"And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him. 8 And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.   And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:"
(Mark 11:7-9)

The LORD Jesus Christ, the God of heaven and earth, the Holy One of Israel, rode into Jerusalem on a lowly donkey; He was the eternal One, but in no way pretentious.  He was making His triumphant entry into Jerusalem, not on a horse as a military leader, but on a donkey, a symbol of One bringing peace.  Palm Sunday, often referred to as "Passion Sunday" occurs the week before the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Who was this man who came to earth to shed His blood and die for all mankind, rise again the third day, and proclaim He's coming back?

Jesus Christ, washing the disciple's feet

It was not beneath the God of the universe to stoop down and wash feet, which was considered to be the servant's duty; He came to earth as a servant to the "dust" He formed by His own hand:

"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant,
and was made in the likeness of men:  And being found in fashion as a man,
he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
(Philippians 2:5-8)

Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed,
"My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me.
Yet not as I will, but as you will."
(Matthew 26:39)

He still falls on His face over a lost world:

Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!"
And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.
(John 19:30)

He was Father in creation, Son in redemption, and He was Holy Ghost in regeneration.  "What does that mean?" you ask.  The Lord Jesus Christ is GOD:

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels,
preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory."
(I Timothy 3:16)

Who did this?  Jesus Christ, the Lord of Lords, King of Kings, the Alpha and Omega  ...  our soon coming King!
