"Light In The Night"
"But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light."
(Zechariah 14:7)
Wesley's Notes says it this way, "God will always act in order to the full salvation of his Spiritual Jerusalem. Known unto the Lord - the Lord knows when it shall begin, and how, and when it shall end."
Have we entered the "evening time" when it's difficult to see the light? Has the world stumbled upon the darkest of nights in the history of our existence? Do we feel as though we are groping in a long, dark, terrifying tunnel? Has the News channel become the source of depression? YES, is the qualifying answer to all of these questions, but the Lord Jesus Christ knew we would arrive at this place of utter, unknowing, strategically designed "darkness." As always, the Lord goes before us and prepares the way ... In this case, He preordained and designated the accommodating answer ... "Light!" Who sends the light? He does. Who administers the Light? The anointed, prophetic lips of His chosen and called to the pulpit. "How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? The day has dawned when people are looking for a prophetic Word ...
Many Nations today are leaderless; people do not trust their current Presidents and governments; rioters are storming the streets all over the world ... Why? Preparation. Preparation for what? It's preparation for the emergence of the antichrist. When he comes upon the scene, after the Rapture of the Church, it will be DARK, and he will speak peace and have all the answers ... "for a time," until he turns on you ... and he will turn on you ...
The Light emerging and growing at this moment is the Truth, the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, repentance worldwide - the saving grace for a lost globe, the power of the Holy Ghost and fire, the illumination of baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ (which is the only way anyone was ever baptized in the Bible - Acts 2; Acts 8; Acts 10; Acts 19), and it's coming from God's own empowered prophetic messengers of His Church. What should one do to escape this ever consuming darkness? Get in the Light ... Get in the true Church that preaches exactly what Peter and Paul preached; heed the prophetic call of this hour; come out of the darkness and into the light!
There's is only ONE in whom there is pure light: The Lord Jesus Christ, Almighty God, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and He stands ready, with open arms, to receive You. His "light" is Truth, love, peace, deliverance, Joy in the Holy Ghost ... and the place where you sit becomes beauty when He dwells within You.
We can face tomorrow when the ONE living within us "holds" tomorrow in His hands. He formed the foundation of the world; He lit the skies with the wave of His hand and the scattering of stars; He exhaled and the atmosphere swirled in winds of dynamic power; He spoke and the mountains soared to the heights at the sound of His voice; He stared and the oceans moved into their designated realms; He steps forth and the force of it triggers the thunder's roll; He turns and the lightning electrifies the bleakness of eerie night skies ... He Is, He Was, and He Is to come, Jesus Christ our LORD!
"And if you spend yourselves in behalf
of the hungry and satisfy the needs of
the oppressed, then your light will rise
in the darkness, and your night will
become like the noonday."
(Isaiah 58:10)
The light of the Church is becoming brighter and brighter; it's shining into every Nation, kindred and tongue; the world is looking for light and we, the Church, have an assignment to "eliminate" the darkness. Revival happens right where we are standing, and then it shines outward. You say, "But, I have my own troubles; I'm being attacked on every side; I'm just trying to keep my own head above water." I understand, and the Lord has a Word for you and all of us that feel that way, "Rejoice not against me, O my enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me." (Micah 7:8)
We Are:
"persecuted, but not abandoned; struck
down but not destroyed." (2 Corinthians 4:9)
"They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm." (Psalm 20:8)
Paul, in all of his beatings, his persecutions, attacks, and many imprisonments, never forgot his "job," and remained steadfast in faith and truth. The darkest days are the brightest days for the Lord Jesus Christ, because the "harvest" is reaching up, in those times, begging to be reaped. Hungry men have no manners; hurting desperate people take the hand held out to them; and people draped in darkness, with no hope, just naturally look toward the light.
"On no day will its gates ever be shut,
for there will be no night there."
(Revelation 21:25)
It makes sense to head toward the light, because our ultimate goal is the New Jerusalem where there is no night! How wonderful! No misery there; no tears there; no heartache there; no fear there; no evil there; no pain there ... no darkness there ...
Lord Jesus, help us to be a bright and shining example of Your love, peace, Joy, strength, and kindness. Let the world be a better place because when we arrive, the darkness leaves. Let our hands be Your hands, our feet Your feet, our souls Your soul. Help us to bring forth what heaven is: "in earth as it is in heaven." Let our labors fill the world with Truth, and anoint us as ministers of Your Word to be the answer to the world ... The "Light In The Night."
