"He Came, To Go, To Come"
"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his name JESUS, for he shall save his people from their sins."
(Matthew 1:21)
Mankind could not continue sacrificing bullocks, turtle doves, and lambs; the blood sacrifices of the old Testament only covered the sins for a time, but when Jesus Christ came; it was to "remove" the sins of the world forever. The blood shed by Jesus Christ our Lord was the ultimate sacrifice ... He was the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world ... That's why The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us; that's why the Lord Jesus Christ was born of a Virgin and thrust Himself from heaven's Glory into earth's cruelty; that's why we're in the middle of the Plan and it is yet to be complete from beginning to end: The full circle of God: "He Came, To Go, To Come."
He Came
The Lord Jesus Christ grew to about the age of 30 and began His ministry: preaching, teaching, healing all manner of diseases and sicknesses, casting out devils, raising the dead, opening blind eyes and deaf ears, doing miracles, and preparing for why He came ...
To Go
The purpose for His coming was to go: "While they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said; Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." (Acts 1:9-11)
"It Is Finished" were the Lord's last words on the cross, and then followed His death, burial and resurrection ... What He came to do was finished, so He left ... But, He said He would send the comforter, the Holy Ghost, and He commanded them to go to Jerusalem and "wait" for the promise of the coming Spirit. "But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me, both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the utter most part of the earth." (Acts 1:8)
The Rapture of the Church
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive
and remain shall be caught up together with them in the
clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be
with the Lord."
(I thessalonians 4:16-17)
We're working on the completion of the circle: I Timothy 3:16 says, "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into Glory." The next and soon-coming event is the Rapture of the Church, which is "not" the second coming of Jesus Christ, because He does not come all the way to earth; He will "catch away" His bride, the Church, in the air. The second coming will occur when He comes "to earth" riding on a white horse, with the Saints riding on white horses following, and He sets His feet upon the Mount of Olives ...
The circle is complete ... Jesus Christ ... "He Came. To Go, To Come."
