"And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar
Augustus,
that all the world should be taxed. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out
of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea,
unto the city of David, which is called
Bethlehem; (because he was of the house
and lineage of David:) To be taxed
with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they
were there, the days were accomplished that she
should be delivered. And she
brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes,
and laid
him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn."
(Luke 2:1-7)
A young virgin girl was visited by the Holy Ghost; it was a
miraculous conception to bring forth the Savior
But, to be taxed, Joseph and Mary had to travel 80 miles by
donkey and about to deliver, not a good behavior
Prophecy and providence perform their due, ever in the face of
impossibilities, without a second thought
God's plans are brought forth with precision and perfect timing;
they are performed without a glitch, as they ought
And there was "no room in the Inn" for the Savior of the world; He
planned it that way, for a humble beginning
He must be born and placed in a manger, so as to have a favorable
understanding, with all those He was defending
For later He would eat with publicans and sinners, wash men's
feet, and die on a cross between two thieves
That no one could ever say they could not relate to Him, when He
asked that He be received, and believed
He IS God in creation, Son in redemption and Holy Ghost in
regeneration, and owns cattle on a thousand hills
But, He lowered Himself and abased Himself for the sins of the
world, and to conquer creation's wills
He paid with His blood, His shredded flesh, and His death upon
the cross, but rose and now lives, for all to behold
He came in humility, rose in victory, reigns in perpetuity, but the
end of the story is yet to unfold, and be told
He said He will come again and receive us unto Himself that
where He is, we may be also, a miraculous outcome
Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life; He's the redeemer of
all mankind, and we are the freed and ransomed
It all began with one humble pair, Mary and Joseph, the chosen
above all, to produce the Messiah, our Lord
They made that long trip; 80 miles in that day was a hardship,
especially with the God of the universe aboard
But, they had a promise, having been visited by angels, so they
rode and walked to the holy manger, with confidence
They realized they were both called and assigned to the holiest of
orders; they were chosen as "A Pair of Providence."
