"Come Home!"

"I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned
against heaven and against you.  I am no longer worthy to be called your son;
make me like one of your hired servants.’  So he got up and went to his father.
“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled
with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and
kissed him.  “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven
and against you.  I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’   “But the
father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him.
Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.  Bring the fattened calf
and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate.  For this son of mine was
dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found."
(Luke 15:18-24)

The son has returned, bowing in obeisance and surrender, to the
Father he feared would turn him away
But the Father rejoiced, called for the fatted calf, the ring, a
robe, and sandals on his feet to array
o it is with the Creator toward His own beloved creation; if you
go astray, He longs for you with open arms
And all the while you wandered, He covered you with His love,
and tried to keep you from all harm
A Father like no other is the Lord in whom you serve; His tears
drip upon your brow, when the world replaces Him
Oh, my child, He cries, "Don't you know, without me, You will
fall to hurt when you follow your sinful whims?"
You are ever on His mind; He bought you with His blood, and
your name is in the scars of His palms
He tries to woo you with His whispers, His love songs, and your
remembrance of His Word in psalms
He beckons you with every mention of His presence by those
around you, nudging you by His Spirit
You must listen and be drawn to His love; stop running, and
ignore the growls causing you to fear it
Jesus Christ will never give up on those He's called His own; He
will fight for you fiercely to the end
For He leaves the ninety and nine to go after the lost sheep; He
wants you in His arms when it's time to ascend
You know, He follows you into the bars and evil places, hoping
to catch your eye, and cause you to look up
He guards you and hovers over you, like a mother watching over
her roving, careless, unknowing pup
You will be forgiven and welcomed with love and joy, if only you
will turn around, and go back toward the light
It's the place of peace and safety, abiding in your Savior, and
holding Him tight with all your might
The times are winding down, and the minutes are ticking away,
renew His Spirit within you, and be free
For the night is coming when deception will be rampant, and it
will be too dark for the rebellious to see
Do you smell the feast now roasting?  It's for you, you know, as
you turn back to Jesus, never more to roam
His eyes are upon you, the robe is in His hand; He has sandals
for your tired, weary feet  ...  please "Come Home!"

"The Scarlet Cord"

"And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land,
and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the
land faint because of you.  For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water
of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto
the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og,
whom ye utterly destroyed.  And as soon as we had heard these things, our
hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because
of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in  heaven above, and in earth beneath."
(Joshua 2:9-11)

"Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread
in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy
father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household, home
unto thee.     .....   And she said, According unto your words, so be it.  And she
sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the scarlet  line in the window."
(Joshua 2:18, 21)

What a story!  Joshua sent out two men to secretly spy out the land of Jericho, and they came to the house of Rahab, who was known as a harlot.  The King of Jericho heard that Rahab was hiding the two spies and he sent word to her to send out the men that she was hiding in her house. She had taken the men to the roof and hid them in stalks of flax, and she made a deal with the two spies that they would spare her and her family from death, because she had shown them kindness and hid them from the King.  They agreed and that night she let them down through the window on the wall, with a scarlet cord, and she told the men to hide in the mountains three days from their pursuers.  The men told her to hang the scarlet cord from her window and all that remained in her house, when they passed through, would be spared.  And, so it was.  Beautiful, isn't it?  It reminds me of the "scarlet blood" shed for you and me to "spare" us from the fires of Hell.  Jesus Christ died on a cross, shed His scarlet blood to redeem us, and when we accept Him as our Savior, are filled with His Spirit, and baptized in His name, He sees His blood "covering" us and spares us!

It's like when the children of Israel were told to place blood on the doorposts of their homes, so the death angel would "pass over them."  The blood of Jesus Christ covers us, protects us, saves us, and His blood is applied to our hearts when we repent of our sins, and give our lives to Him.  "Not my will, but thine be done, O Lord."  We go under the waters of baptism in His name, and we come up new creatures, forgiven, washed by His blood, innocent, and clean.  Oh, it's so wonderful!  It matters not what religion you are, what country you're in, what you've been taught  ...  if you feel a tugging at your soul while you're reading this, and you want peace, you want the guilt, shame and heaviness of sin to be taken away, you want to be free  ...  Call to Jesus Christ; He hears and He will forgive you!  And, He will never leave you, nor forsake you!  You say, "I wasn't raised to believe this; I don't know what my family would think."  This is not encouraging you to go against your family.  Know this, we all will stand before God, Jesus Christ our Lord, alone, not with our families, not with anyone, but alone.  We must work out our own soul's salvation with fear and trembling.  (Philippians 2:12)

      .
Life or death rested on Rahab's scarlet cord placed in the window, and life or death rests upon our being covered in the scarlet blood of Jesus Christ   ...   or not.  When we belong to Jesus Christ, we will "live" eternally.  He said that He goes to prepare a place for us that where He is, we may be also   ....  Heaven, eternal joy and peace!  There are no tears over there, no pain over there, no heartache over there, no disease over there, no divorce over there, no abuse over there, no WAR over there  ...  Oh, dear friend, it's our choice.  God is a gentleman; He will not invade our will; we must come to Him ourselves  ...  He's waiting with open arms of LOVE  ...

The scarlet cord of Rahab and the scarlet blood of Jesus Christ  ...  LIFE for those who obey.  Rahab had to obey the spies and hang out that scarlet cord to LIVE; we have to obey the Holy Bible and commands of Jesus Christ, be covered in His blood of forgiveness and redemption to LIVE.  It's all about life and death, Love and fear, war and peace, Joy and despair, Heaven and Hell  ...  To be "alive" in Jesus Christ is to really LIVE!  He carries us through the storms, whispers our names in the moonlight, overflows us with His Spirit, sends His angels to guard and watch over us, holds us when we're scared, and He's coming back for us when it's done!  When what's done?  When the last soul is covered with His blood, when the final count ticks down  ...  it may be in Russia, Germany, China, the Islands of the Sea, America, or some remote jungle where few ever visit  ...  The door will be shut, and the Rapture of the Church will occur  ...  then will come The Tribulation period, when the earth is judged for its Sin  ...

That scarlet color will appear again!  It's a victorious color, a powerful color, a redeeming color, a saving color, especially when the ONE who wears it is Lord of Lords and King of Kings!

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and
he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True,
and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.  His eyes
were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many
crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew,
but he himself.  And he was clothed with a vesture
dipped in blood; and his name is called The Word of God.

"The Burn!"

"The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar;
it shall never go out."
(Leviticus 6:13)

Worship, Worship, Worship the Lord, all ye servants of
the King, for He rules and reigns
For Jesus Christ is the God of all; His Spirit is a consuming
fire over the universal domains

His name is a Flame burning around the globe, but it starts
as a fire shut up in the bones
It's the prayers of the saints from depths untold, uttered in
fiery tongues and spiritual groans

The fire of God's Word, His power and His Spirit, are the
movement in earth's endtime and season
Burning out evil with the fire on the altar that repels the
devil, his imps and the heathen

None can escape the fire of almighty God; He's strength and
power to the ever fervent saint
And His blood brings forgiveness of sins, to the sorrowful
and repentant, without constraint

Let the flames of the gospel burn through the coldness of a
world lost in sin and lust
That's why Jesus came, to redeem a world of perishing,
and make pure the unjust

O, Elijah, you called down fire from the heavens, and the
Lord God answered with flames
Leaving Baal and the false prophets cowering in ashes,
and their beliefs in shame

We will keep the altars glowing with flames climbing to
Your throne, O Lord, until You return
Our fiery worship ascends to Your nostrils, as an incense
of fragrant offerings, known as "The Burn!"

"Moments!"

"For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout
the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf
of them whose heart is perfect toward him..."
(2 Chronicles 16:9)

They come and they go, and when they're gone  ... they're gone! What?  Special, God ordained, heaven tuned, anointed and holy, spine-tingling, mind boggling, awe inspiring, silence filled, still magnificent MOMENTS!  They're like intersections of destiny that you remember for a lifetime. They're those times when God has found it!  Found what?  That one with the "perfect heart;" that one who will obey no matter what, that one who, like Abraham, will climb the mountain and hold a knife over his only son  ...  because God told him to.  But, the "ram in the thicket" changes the whole thing; the angel grabbing his knife-clad hand at the right time suddenly stops time, and it becomes a MOMENT!  We know the story; it was a test, and Abraham passed  ...  God wanted to know if Abraham would obey Him in all things, even to the death of his own son  ... while Abraham lifted the knife to plunge it into his own son's heart, God had a ram coming up the other side of the mountain; God had an angel ready to grab his arm; God had an "escape" and when Abraham passed the test, his son was spared.  Ah, a MOMENT!

The list is long; David, Daniel, Esther, Moses, Ruth, Elisha, and Paul to name a few, who showed us the "route" to the perfect heart.  God still searches to and fro today  ...  for that One  ... that human being who will give all and allow God to stop time and show mortals what it's all about   ...  in a Moment!  It's not easy to be one who arrives at the Moment; it takes one who will climb the mountain, dwell in the desert, abide by the brook, wait in the quiver, sit in Job's ashes, rot in Joseph's prison, sustain Paul's beatings, or raise Abraham's knife.  This "God thing" is not for amateurs; God Almighty is real, and Yes, He loves us; Yes He will move heaven and earth for us when we surrender to Him  ...  but, we must be prepared to "become!"  Become what?  Like Him  ... We've got it on our currency, on our most important of documents, but is it in our "perfect hearts?"   ...  In God We Trust  ...

Moments are like fleeting angels; they move with the wisps of the breath of God, and we must "be there" at the right time and the right place to catch them.  How do we do that?  It takes a heart after God  ...  a "perfect heart" after God.  That word 'perfect' means "complete or whole."  When our hearts belong to Jesus Christ our Lord, He makes them whole, and then it's up to us to make them "Holy" His!  The times when we're pondering what to do and how to do it, we never know but that help is hovering over us to confirm the MOMENT and give us the answer.  We must always be aware of the MOMENT.  The blessing could be hanging right over our heads.

"Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered
and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account."
(Hebrews 4:13)

He sees all; He knows all; and He's searching to and fro  ... Will He find one today?  All it takes is a "perfect heart," one that follows God wherever He may go, one that says, "I Will," to His "Will you?"  It's one that forsakes the worldliness for Godliness, one that knows life belongs to the Creator and He can do with it what He pleases.  Ah, it's not an easy road, but it's a MOMENTOUS road!  Today could be YOUR day for one of those times when ethereal moves in to turn your "every day" into one of those miraculous times of ecstasy  ...  one of those "MOMENTS."
