"Arriving!"

 

"But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in 

the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on 

their right hand, and on their left."

(Exodus 14:29)

The children of Israel, at the mighty anointed and miraculous hand of God and Moses, arrived on dry ground, safe from the pursuing Egyptians  ...  Now what?  Their prayers to be delivered have finally been answered; they have waited and longed for this day, now what?  It doesn't change; people from all generations pray prayers for many years sometimes, until they are finally fulfilled, finally answered, finally manifested  ...  then what?  You say, "What are you talking about; it's wonderful; the prayers are answered."  Why does God do miracles?  Why does God answer prayers?  Why does God show forth His hand in ways of escape? It's to show God's people in all ages that they can trust Him; they can depend on their God to see them through; they can know that God is real and He delivers.  When can we know this? We know it upon "Arriving!"

"He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters

 on foot-- come, let us rejoice in him."

(Psalm 66:6)

There is a day of Arrival! Matthew Henry's commentary says it so beautifully, "What cannot he do who did this? What will not he do for those that fear and love him, who did this for these murmuring, unbelieving Israelites?"  Does Almighty God care about our problems, our trials, and troubles?  Yes.  Does He want to answer our prayers? Yes.  Why does He make us wait, sometimes for years, before He answers?  We have learned over the years that there are three answers to prayer  ... Yes, No, and Wait.  All of our prayers fall into one of those categories.  Why the "wait?"  It's a "process;" sometimes it's to show forth His Glory; sometimes "we" are not ready for the answer; sometimes "we" must be enlarged to receive the answer; sometimes the answer depends upon other answers; sometimes fulfillment of His Word comes first; sometimes He is answering, but "we" have not ARRIVED yet.  Huh?  All of these things are called growth, destiny, vision, prophecy, illumination, and faith.  You say, "I don't understand."  None of us do  ...  He IS God, and He does not think like we think; that's why we are admonished with those powerful words, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 2:5)

"By day the LORD went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to 

guide  them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give

 them light, so that they could travel by day or night."

(Exodus 13:21)

It's about being led by the Spirit of God.  The Israelites were led by a cloud by day and a fire by night, so "we" are led by the Spirit of Almighty God.  If we have not the Spirit, we are none of His. "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."  (Romans 8:9)  The Israelites were led by the Spirit of God every step of the way in their 40 year long journey through the desert to the promised land.  We are led today by the Spirit of Jesus Christ "in us."  We must be filled with His Spirit (Acts 2, 8, 10, and 19); we must be baptized in His name, (Acts 2 and Acts 19), and we will "Arrive" at our answers, through His Word, His Spirit, His Prophets, and His Preachers.

"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, 

that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the

 world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but 

ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you."

(John 14:16-17)

We get answers through the Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ living in us.  We are guided into all truth by the Spirit of the Lord.  Something always must be sent up before anything can come down.  It's called Prayer; we all do it; even non-believers call out for help when they get into a disastrous situation.  Our every day existence here in earth is all about "Arriving."  What?  It means "to come to a certain point."  We're all going somewhere; we all will "arrive" in an eternal Heaven or an eternal Hell.  We begin by arriving at birth; we arrive in all the stages of growth to adulthood; we arrive at success; we arrive at a crossroad of salvation, because we were all born in sin and shapen in iniquity  ...  we will arrive at the feet of Jesus Christ  ...  Every knee shall bow, every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord  ...  We are always "Arriving," at intersections of decision and choice, at finales of tests and trials as we carry our crosses, at roads of good and evil, at answers from the hand of a Holy God.

"The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that

 come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot

 understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit."

(I Corinthians 2:14)

We must all "arrive" at Truth some time in our lives; we must arrive at salvation, Grace, forgiveness, humility, repentance, and all happens at the foot of the cross of Jesus Christ.  He died to set all of mankind free, all nations, kindred and tongues.  What is life really all about?  It's about giving our lives back to the One who created them  ...  It's about "Arriving!"

"Walk The Walk!"

And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; 

your faith has made you well.” 
(Mark 10:52)

It's called Faith, when we soar as Eagles into the wild unknown

and we move in the auspices of the God groan. He wants a people who believe out of bounds and fly with courage into the heavenly visions, like a silent drone.  After all, He lives inside us, our God who knows no boundaries; He expects us to move in His power and might.  We're His hands and His feet, doing His will by His anointing and  His Spirit, driven by His impetus and His Light.

Ah, it's ethereal to climb to the apex and dwell among the clouds, 

 high above the snake line, up where noise is quelled

Glory lingers there, when Angels change shifts and the brightness

 of God is released; and the universe is veiled

It takes determination and a strong Warrior mentality to fly while others are grounded, but the altitudes are beckoning.  Someone has to yield to the winds, the call, and the whispers of Almighty God, who wants a Moses-like reckoning.  Who will meet Him in the high places and plead for the souls, between God's face and His fury to behold.  Oh, it's the one who isn't afraid of heights, but rises to the bidding, and bows to be exalted, by the Holy hand untold.

It's a waltz amid the storm clouds, and a whirl with lightnings and

 thunder, as the flight reaches the One with power

He welcomes His "dust," who dared to leave earth behind, for a

 saunter in the heavens in this darkened hour

The faint of heart can't do it; for it's a lonely climb above ozone to destinies of wonder, out of knowledge and mind.  Only the rabid hungry will forge the great unknown, to find the  dream's Creator, and sit down with Him to dine.  The one who sits at His feet, and talks with Him in the moonlight, knows of that place, past the planets and stars.  It's the Holy ground above the second heaven, where the Angels fight the devils, and win our prayer wars.

So, fly, you venturing warrior, with your cape of protection from

 Your God, who woos you to let your faith go

He's the Lord of your journey, riding a white horse, clothed in red,

 and in His hand are Glory, an arrow and a bow

He says, "Come up hither," and His breath pulls you to His side in

a whoosh of ethereal splendor, too mighty to explain

You're propelled like the speed of Light through the sound barrier, with only silence, and distant Angelic refrains 

  

And the Angels sing their chorus of a song you've never heard;

it's reserved for those with a faith and a talk

They are those who say goodbye to earth's gravity, who defy the

rules of mortal earthiness, and who "Walk The Walk!"

"Riddles That Kill"

"Now see to it that you drink no wine or other

fermented drink and that you do not eat anything

unclean.  You will become pregnant and have a son

whose head is never to be touched by a razor because 

the boy is to be a Nazarite, dedicated to God from the

womb.  He will take the lead in delivering Israel from

the hands of the Philistines."

(Judges 13:4-5)

"Samson loved another Philistine woman called Delilah." 

...The rulers of the Philistines went to her and said,

“See if you can lure him into showing you the secret

of his great strength and how we can overpower him

 so we may tie him up and subdue him. Each one of us

will give you eleven hundred shekels of silver.”

(Judges 16:5-6)

Samson and Delilah

The mighty Samson was to be a Nazarite from birth, according to the angel who instructed Manoah's wife about her pregnancy.  A razor was never to touch a hair of his head and therein was the secret of his strength.  He was to deliver Israel from the Philistines.  But, Delilah, Samson's love, was paid off by the Philistines to lure Samson into revealing this "secret."  Samson was "anointed" with the Nazarite vow, and he was to be holy, never to touch strong drink, and he was to let the locks of his hair grow, never to be cut.  Samson "played with" his anointing; he recited mysterious words over and over to this woman whom he thought loved him; they were "Riddles That Kill."

So Delilah said to Samson, “Tell me the secret of your great strength and how

you can be tied up and subdued.”   Samson answered her, “If anyone ties me

with seven fresh bowstrings that have not been dried, I’ll become as

 weak as any other man.”

(Judges 16:6-7)

Each time, Delilah told the Philistines the riddle and they came in armed and ready to take him down, but each time she said, "the Philistines are upon you," Samson rose up in his strength against them.  It had become a game!  Finally, she got to him, and his gaming of riddles became a killer, a killer of this holy thing within him, his anointing  ...

Then she said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when you won’t confide

in me?  This is the third time you have made a fool of me and haven’t told me

the secret of your great strength."  With such nagging, she prodded him day after

day until he was sick to death of it.  So he told her everything.  "No razor has

ever been used on my head," he said, "because I have been a Nazarite dedicated to

God from my mother's womb.  If my head were shaved, my strength would leave 

me, and I would become as weak as any other man."

(Judges 16:15-17)

 "After putting him to sleep on her lap, she called for

someone to shave off the seven braids of his hair, and so began

to subdue him.  And his strength left him."

(Judges 16:19)

Samson's unwise game was over; his amusing toying with the anointing of God had come back to toy with "him" in a big way.  The Philistines seized him, gouged out his eyes, binded him with bronze shackles, and set him to grinding grain in the prison.  But, the hair on his head began to grow.

                           

Whatever you do, Philistines, don't let Samson's hair grow back!  But, they didn't have the wisdom to stop it.  That's the way it is with coming back to God; repentance brings His presence.  It happened that the Rulers of the Philistines assembled to have a great celebration and sacrifice to their god, Dagon, because they believed their god had delivered the great Samson into their hands, and they shouted to have Samson brought out from the prison to entertain them.  Samson told the servant to put him where he could feel the two pillars in his hands.

 'Now the temple was crowded with men and women; all the rulers of the Philistines

were there, and on the roof were about three thousand men and women

watching Samson perform. Then Samson prayed to the Lord, “Sovereign Lord,

remember me.  Please, God, strengthen me just once more, and let me with one blow

get revenge on the Philistines for my two eyes.”  Then Samson reached toward

the two central  pillars on which the temple stood. Bracing himself against them,

his right hand on the one and his left hand on the other, Samson said, “Let me

die with the Philistines!” Then he pushed with all his might, and down came the temple on

the rulers and all the people in it. Thus he killed many more when he

died than while he lived.' 

(Judges 16:27-30)

The tragedy of this story is what happens when we don't take seriously the anointing and power of God.  We've seen the downfall of those who are called and chosen, but they have let the lusts of the flesh come in to reside with the anointing.  It never works; one of them has to go, so the anointing takes a back seat.  It doesn't leave completely, because the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.  (Romans 11:29)  This means God does not take it back, when He gives us a gift or a calling.  In Samson's case, the prerequisite to his strength was his nazarite obedience to the vow of never cutting his hair; his hair was cut, so his strength was dormant until his hair grew back.  So it is with us; our obedience to God's Word and His commandments brings strength and blessings; the blessings and strength cease when sin arrives.  We've heard the story of a preacher sitting drunk in a bar, but getting a powerful sermon.  The gift is still there; the anointing lays dormant within his drunken spirit, until he repents.  

Here is understanding and wisdom:  This is why people call Christians hypocrites when they see us fall, yet we still profess to believe and still have the gifts.  It's called "human."  I do not condone sin; however, anyone living in earth can be tempted, and yes, we must resist temptation and be all that God has called us to be.  However, this is for YOU out there who have made mistakes, and you think you could never preach again, never sing again, never let the Gifts of God, lying dormant in you, operate again.  

In other words, repent, get up, dust yourself off, and begin again.  True and sincere repentance will restore you; it may take time, and perhaps it could even require relocation, but know this; You are still getting sermons, songs, or whatever gifts you have, in your spirit and in your dreams because God does not repent of the gifts He has given You.  You are still precious in His sight; you can still be used; you have a purpose to fulfill in this life; God is not through with You! 

Put behind you the past, the sin, the brokenness, the feelings of being unloved by God, the burned and marred reputation, the "Riddles That Kill," or the games that toy with His anointing, and rise up to break the forces of evil that tried to destroy You!  Joy Comes In the Morning!
