"The Kiss"

But Jesus said to him, "Judas, are you betraying the
Son of Man with a kiss?"
(Luke 22:48)

Judas and Peter

Is Easter the right time to talk about Judas' kiss of betrayal?  Because of his betraying ghastly deed; we shouldn't even mention him, should we?  Does Jesus miss Judas?  The answer to all three questions is a resounding, and blood covered, YES!  Easter is the perfect time to talk about "The Kiss."

Jesus and His disciples

Jesus had twelve disciples, but one was like a devil.  Judas sold out the Lord Jesus Christ for 30 pieces of silver, and told the soldiers they would know whom to arrest, because he would "kiss" Him.  But, did Judas repent for what he did, because later he tried to give the priests their money back.  The Greek explains the meaning of the words in this betrayal:

"There are two Greek words which are translated "repented," the one properly
so translated, metanoeo, which means literally "to know after" and which therefore
means a change of mind or purpose; and the other, metamellomai, which is
used here and which means literally "to care after," indicates a sorrow for the past.
The first should be translated "repent;" the second, "regret."
(Bible Study Tools.com)

We see that Judas "regretted" what he did, but was not repentant for what he did  ...  big difference.  Trench draws the distinction thus: "He who has changed his mind about the past is in the way to change everything; he who has an after care may have little or nothing more than a selfish dread of the consequences of what he has done."

Having obtained the condemnation from Pilate,
Jesus was charged

Judas, finding that the priests would not accept the returned money, he threw the silver to the ground and went out and hung himself.  He sold his soul, he sold out the only Man who could save his soul, and where evil is concerned, it's always the soul that loses.

Judas hung himself

Imagine what this must have done to the heart of the One who came to die for the world, who came to shed His blood for all men, who came to give the world a hope and a future, who loved His creation unto death  ...  I believe Jesus Christ was saddened over Judas, just as He is saddened over lucifer, satan.  Jesus Christ has no revenge for those who hurt Him; He loves deeply, and is still sad today that people don't love Him, that people still betray Him with their actions and indifference, that people turn their backs on Him and curse Him  ...  He loves even those who hate Him.

Evil

It's not too late for those in the grips of evil, for those who have succombed to the wiles of satanic fury.  Come unto Jesus Christ, while there is still time.  Give Him your heart; call out to Him for mercy; repent with sorrowful sincere honesty and humility; ask Him to fill you with His Spirit and you will speak with tongues as His Spirit gives you the utterance; then, be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins.  It's Easter; it's Resurrection time  ...  Let the Lord Jesus Christ lift you to newness of life; let Him wash you with His blood shed for you; let Him give you peace like a river, and Joy unspeakable and full of glory.  Let Him  ... Let Him  ...

Did Judas enter the mind of Jesus Christ when He was hanging on the cross?  He took the sins of the whole world and redeemed them with His death, His blood and the stripes upon His back, but it was too late for Judas  ...  It's not too late for you and me  ... The Holy Lord Jesus Christ arose the third day!  He is alive and well, and it doesn't matter what you've done; He loves YOU utterly and He will receive You unto Himself; He will forgive You, care for You, carry You through the storms of life, wipe away Your tears, and hold You in His arms.

Jesus Christ Lives!

The Lord Jesus Christ always remembers "The Kiss."

"The Posture of Force"

"And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and
thou shalt be a father of many nations."
(Genesis 17:3-4)

Angels visit Abraham

Biblical Abraham was no stranger to the holy posture of the face to the ground.  "Force" means 'physical power or strength possessed by a living being.'  It's the posture to be assumed with any encounter before the Almighty God.  He IS, after all, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, and the Holy One of Israel; we give Him the honor due His name.  It is a place of obeisance, a place of humility, and a place of surrender, just as kneeling and bowing, as well, are welcomed by our Lord.  Creation was formed of the "dust" of the ground, the origin of all humanity, so for mortals, it is the lowest, but the highest place of strength; it is beautiful; "The Posture of Force."

Four and twenty Elders in heaven

It is also a posture of the mind.  Humility is gone when one voices that he, himself, is humble.  Huh?  We are never stronger, never higher, never as powerful, never as close to God, than when we are bowed low.  This posture must exist in the mind, heart, soul, spirit and body of the "dust" toward its Creator.  Abraham, and many of the mighty men and women of the Bible had this "force" in the very depths of their character.  They knelt, bowed, fell, and prostrated themselves before the One in whom dwells all power and glory and honor, the Lord and King of all, our omnipotent Creator, Jesus Christ.

I bowed on my knees and cried "Holy"

We must assume the posture of "force."  What?  Two definitions of the word 'force' are "strength" and "intensity."  It is an intense position alright; it exudes powerful worship and adoration, elimination of self, and renders the human as given over to the higher power, the precious and omnipotent ONE Lord, the Lord Jesus Christ.  You say, "Well, I've just never been one to do that."  You will!  Huh?  Every knee Shall bow; every tongue will confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord.  We will do it now, or we will do it later, but we will ALL do it!  Don't get your bloomers in an uproar  ...  it's a wonderful thing to feel the posture of "letting go," relinquishing control, becoming pliable, surrendering the will, realizing we don't know everything, becoming as a little child, and turning it over to our "Father."  It's a very "freeing" thing to let the Creator of the universe carry our load, and lift it from our shoulders; try it!

"Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the
radiance around him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory
of the LORD. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking."
(Ezekiel 1:28)

It's not so hard to fall on our faces when we are awed with a vision like the one given to Ezekiel, but worship is either within our being or it is not.  It is either the force of our souls or it is not.  We were all created to worship Him, the Lord Jesus Christ, but He gave us free will to do so, or not to do so.  The God of the universe could blink an eye and every human in earth would fall to his/her knees, but He wants our love willingly; He wants it from a sincere heart, from a posture that desires to give Him praise, from "dust" that realizes it is dust  ...

It is the position most powerful in all the world, the highest,
yet the lowest in stance; it is "The Posture of Force."

"Like A Song"

"Once in every life someone comes along and you came to us,
it was almost like a song..."
(Pastor Kenneth Phillips)

It was like an Awakening of the soul and spirit, when at first we
felt Your touch of love, so utterly sublime
"How can my heart flutter with such joy, and my spirit feel so free
in glory and beauty?" we wondered at the time
Oh, it was the One who held us as dust, and formed us by His love,
who caressed us with His Holy hands
He's the Creator of the universe, who loves what He made; He
watches o'er the earth, His own created lands
It's no wonder when a soul looks in His eyes, with love returned in
worship, that His Spirit floods our beings
And, it's more than prickling chill bumps, tinglings, the rampage of
mortal emotions, and run amok feelings
No, it is power unspeakable and full of glory, the explosion of
heaven, from portals beyond our knowing
Ah, it's like rain, snow, fragrant breezes, winds of fire, the scent
of roses and a niagra of love, unleashed and flowing
"Take me, I'm Yours," is our fervent cry, from lips touched by
heaven's flames, and hearts instantly remade
The lover of our souls has invaded us with ecstasy, and now we've
been made clean; we're righteously arrayed
No love can compare to our Savior's relentless mercy, love and
grace; we are humbled to our trembling knees
And, as we bow, we're mounting up like eagles, soaring in His
embrace, flying above snake lines, to lofty aeries
No human can describe the splendor of the Holy Ghost and fire,
that erupts like a volcano, in glorious joy
The strings of our hearts sing in tongues, as we're carried away in
the arms of love; it's a heavenly awing ploy
We experience a "Maranatha" before its time, as our Redeemer
takes up residence, in His home of reformed dust
And, we get a foretaste of paradise in an earthly moment, a dance
rises in the freedom, of the once sinful and unjust
Oh, there's nothing like it; it's a lilt of the soul, diving to depths
and climbing to heights, in one swoop of delight
And the light floods our bodies in a miraculous consumption, of
the dregs from hopelessness, and darkness of night
We fly like we have wings, released to explore the flames of the
Holy Ghost, in a triumph of seeking wonder
"Who wouldn't want more?" we ask, when we consider the power
that roared through our souls, like shaking thunder
So, the chords of singing fill the stillness in the air, when at last we
settle into our abode, above earth's woes and cares
We have become new and shining from His light and love; it's
apparent to all who know us, from their oft stares
It was "the experience;" from Acts 2 and 38, that joined us to
Jesus, and cleared us from all our sins and wrongs
Ah, it is beautiful, it's like awesome mystery, unfolded in a rush of
glory, the Word from above, in us; it's "Like A Song."

"All Things New!"

"And he that sat upon the throne said,
Behold, I make all things new.
And he said unto me, Write: for these
words are true and faithful."
(Revelation 21:5)

The cracked, dry ground of our sometimes weary dry desert existence, feels a new rain and flow coming.  It's the Holy Word of the Lord erupting with glory, power, and wonder from the eternal depths of dawning. Spring forth, now, O ye hidden rivers in the wilderness, pour out from your dimensional portals of wisdom. For it's been way too dry for too long; the powdery dust yearns for the secret mystery, of the watery prism.

Come, Lord Jesus, we pray, in Your majestic wonder, and show
us Your Glory, in all its holy illumination
It is Your expertise and forte to expound the universe, with an
exhibition of mighty splendorous elaboration

The lonely desert-like sands of our hungering souls, seek the footprint of The Creator, The Holy pundit.  Let Your Holy Ghost rivers, O Lord, overflow us, until we're filled, glowing, powerful, and "Son" lit. It's the last days, the end of time, the season and bloom for Your Bride, Your Church, to rise and soar.  We ask that You make our way on a brand new road, with new wisdom and understanding, and a new door.

We have sojourned and learned the treasures of the barren
parched lonely land, and we're ready now
Spring up, O well, pour upon us, and saturate our spirits,
with the satisfying waters of Isaiah's vow

You'll make a way for us, in the wilderness, dear Lord, and
the rivers will flow in the desert, too
Because we're readying our hearts and souls for the kingdom,
and You're making "All Things New!"

"Make No Tarrying"

Psalm 40

"I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto
me, and heard my cry.  He brought me up also out of
an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon
a rock, [and] established my goings.  And he hath put
a new song in my mouth, [even] praise unto our God:
many shall see [it], and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
Blessed [is] that man that maketh the LORD his trust,
and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
Many, O LORD my God, [are] thy wonderful works [which]
thou hast done, and thy thoughts [which are] to us-ward:
they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: [if] I
would declare and speak [of them], they are more than
can be numbered.  Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire;
mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering
hast thou not required.  Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume
of the book [it is] written of me, I delight to do thy will,
O my God: yea, thy law [is] within my heart.  I have
preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo,
I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.
I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have
declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation:  I have not
concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the
great congregation. Withhold not thou thy tender
mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness
and thy truth continually preserve me.  For innumerable
evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken
hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are
more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart
faileth me.  Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD,
make haste to help me. Let them be ashamed and confounded
together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven
backward and put to shame that wish me evil.  Let them be
desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me,
Aha, aha.  Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad
in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The
LORD be magnified.  But I [am] poor and needy; [yet] the
Lord thinketh upon me: thou [art] my help and my
deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God."
