"FOUR FLAMES"

"After he drove the man out, he placed on the east

side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life."

(Genesis 3:24)

 

Adam and Eve cast out of The Garden of Eden

"Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers

a flaming fire:"

(Psalm 104:4)

When Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden, an angel was placed with a flaming sword, and one scripture translation says, "casting flames in every direction," North, South, East and West, to guard the way to the tree of life and keep the sinning couple, "creation," from returning to the Garden; they were banned by "Four Flames."

The number "4" represents creation and Angels; according to one commentary, Angels have the nature of, and are symbolic of, wind, lightning, storm, and tempest.  Wind speaks of their force and power; lightning speaks of the "flash," or their speed and agility; storm speaks of their diversity of manifestation; and tempest speaks of their ability in strength. 

Cherubim always have to do with creation and there are always four.

Gifts of the Holy Ghost

 Lands, Tongues, Families, Nations

The trials of suffering are covered by the flame:

                                                   Troubled, but not distressed                                                     

Perplexed, but not in despair

Persecuted, but not forsaken

 Cast down, but not destroyed 

"The prophecy of Zechariah which has special reference to the earth: In chapter 4

 we have the four chariots with horses of four colors, signifying the spirits of

 the heavens acting for God in the midst of the four Gentile powers."

The angel told Zechariah that the four chariots and their horses represented the four spirits or winds of heaven as the same word is translated both as spirit and wind.

"And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits [Winds] of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth."

( Zech. 6:4-5)

Flame the NAME of Jesus Christ

O, Church, and generation who will see the coming of the Lord:  we must go forth as "flames" into every Land, Family, Tongue and Nation to "flame" the Name of Jesus Christ.  What are the four flames which must go forth into the North, South. East and West?

The Blood of Jesus Christ

How must we go?  We go hand in hand with the Angels:

Like the Wind: Force and Power in the Holy Ghost

Like Lightning: A "flash," with speed for time is short

Like a Storm: With diversity of Gifts of the Spirit

Like a Tempest: With Strength and ability in the Word

All four corners of the earth: North, South, East and West will feel the flames and the feathers, the angels and the ministering saints, as we go forth to reap, and gather in the sheaves.  It is a mandate of direction, and it is a replica and the completion of the circle  ...  The means used to ban man from the Garden of  Eden are being used to bring him back to the Garden   ...  "Four Flames."

"The Man in the Middle"

THE MAN in the  MIDDLE

Jesus Christ: He was God; He was flesh; and He was the

Holy One, crucified for all mankind

He was nailed to a splintered cross between two thieves; one

saw the light, and He was no more blind

The road to the cross was paved with His passion to make

all men holy, and revere the sacred temple

But, Jesus was met with opposition; it was a battle for their

souls, an endeavor not so simple

His prayers preceded His mission, a plan that would

rip His flesh, and spill His precious blood

For He came to die; this sinless God would bear the

world's sins; and His tears fell like a flood

He was beaten and torn; He bled to complete the

sacrifice, and to redeem all people

It was the crucifixion to be finished for His lost

creation; and there will be no sequel

Willingly He gave His all for the dust He formed into

life, and had gone so far astray

Sin took its toll, and now, it was the final solution, so with

His body and His blood He paid

When death came and He said, "It is Finished;" He was

laid in a borrowed tomb, for a full three days

But, as He said, the morning came; His garment was folded,

and behold, the stone was rolled away

The tomb was empty; Jesus Christ was risen, and it was

the dawning of power and glory

Our Savior is ALIVE; and today we worship Him in honor,

and proclaim this is more than a story

The Lord Jesus Christ conquered death, Hell, and the

grave, a fete not at all little

But, what do we expect from Almighty God, Jesus Christ,

our Lord, "The Man in the Middle."

"The Lamb"

"The Lamb"

"And they overcame him (satan) by the blood of the Lamb,

and by the word of their testimony; and they

loved not their lives unto the death."

(Revelation 12:11)

The Lord Jesus Christ, the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Holy One of Israel, the Great omnipotent "I AM," the One Holy God eternal  ...  "The Lamb."

It was the plan that started at Passover way back when the children of Israel needed freedom from bondage, deliverance from Egyptian rule, and they needed to worship their God.  Enter: The Passover lamb, a spotless lamb to be slain and its blood applied to the left, to the right, and above the doorposts  ...  the sign of the cross  ...  to keep the death angel from all Israelites, when he was sent out to kill the firstborn of all living, but when the angel saw the blood, he passed over  ...  and the Israelites were spared. 

It was the type, shadow and script of "The Lamb" that rode into town on a borrowed colt, and one week later was nailed to a cross and died  ...  The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world  ... 

It's all about the The Lamb and it's all about the Blood.  Without the shedding of blood, there can be no forgiveness of sin. "And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness."  (Hebrews 9:22)  The blood of the slain lamb protected and delivered the Israelites for one night, but the Blood of the slain Lamb of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, protects and delivers ALL mankind forever!  Thank You, Lord Jesus!

Why did He do it?  Why did Jesus Christ willingly give His beaten flesh, His sinless blood, and His life on the cross?  The old testament's killing of animals and the blood on the altar only covered the people's sins for a time, and every time they sinned they had to bring an animal, a turtle dove, a bullock to be sacrificed to cover their sins once again.  When the Lord Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, died on the cross and shed His blood; it was for the sins of the whole world for all of eternity. 

"For the life of the flesh is in the blood:
and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls:
for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul."

(Leviticus 17:11)

The Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ, made the atonement, with His shed blood, once and for all  ...  "It Is Finished."  But, He didn't just die; He conquered death, Hell, and the grave; He rose again; He IS ALIVE!  

Jesus Christ, the risen LORD!

That's why we worship Him; that's why we lift Him up; that's why we kneel at His feet; that's why we shout praises to His name; that's why we dance before Him; that's why  ...  that's why!

The triumphant end is yet to come!  The Lord Jesus Christ will catch away His Bride in the air before that great and terrible tribulation period, when the earth will be judged.  Then, The Lamb will return, as a Lion of the tribe of Judah, riding on a white horse, with His saints following.

The Lord Jesus Christ IS God in the flesh, Savior of the world, our soon coming King, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, and He IS "The Lamb."

"PASSOVER"

"PASSOVER"

 "Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month

 they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a

 lamb for an house:  And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his

neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man

according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.  Your lamb shall be without

 blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:  

And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly

of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening."  

"And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper

 door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.  And they shall eat the flesh in that

night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. 

 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs,

and with the purtenance thereof.  And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the

morning; and that which  remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.  

And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your

staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord’s passover."  

For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn

in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will

execute judgment: I am the Lord.  And the blood shall be to you for a token upon

the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the

 plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt."

(Exodus 12:3-13)

Death Angel

On the night before the Israelites were to leave Egypt, they were instructed to kill a spotless lamb and it was to be eaten in the manner directed; they were to apply the blood of the lamb to the doorposts of their houses to mark them as distinguishable from the Egyptian homes, so that the Death angel would "pass over" them and the Israelites would be spared.  Thus, the name "Passover" is an ordinance to be kept every year by the Jews in remembrance of Israel's preservation and deliverance out of Egypt, and it is a profound type of Christ.

Jesus Christ

The Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior and our Redeemer, is known as the "lamb slain from the foundation of the world."  Jesus Christ is our passover.  Matthew Henry's comparison of the spotless passover lamb and the Lord Jesus Christ is excellent:

"It was to be without blemish; the Lord Jesus was a Lamb without spot: the judge

who condemned Christ declared him innocent. It was to be set apart four days before,

denoting the marking out of the Lord Jesus to be a Saviour, both in the purpose and in the

 promise. It was to be slain, and roasted with fire, denoting the painful sufferings of the

Lord Jesus, even unto death, the death of the cross. The wrath of God is as fire, and Christ

was made a curse for us. Not a bone of it must be broken, which was fulfilled in Christ,

 John 19:33, denoting the unbroken strength of the Lord Jesus.  The sprinkling of the blood

 was typical. The blood of the lamb must be sprinkled, denoting the applying of the

merits of Christ's death to our souls; we must receive the atonement, Romans 5:11.

Faith is the bunch of hyssop, by which we apply the promises, and the benefits of

the blood of Christ laid up in them, to ourselves. It was to be sprinkled on the

door-posts, denoting the open profession we are to make of faith in Christ.  It was

not to be sprinkled upon the threshold; which cautions us to take heed of trampling

 under foot the blood of the covenant. It is precious blood, and must be precious

to us. The blood, thus sprinkled, was a means of preserving the Israelites from the

destroying angel, who had nothing to do where the blood was.  The blood of Christ

is the believer's protection from the wrath of God, the curse of the law, and

the damnation of hell, Romans 8:1."

The Lord Jesus Christ's death

The old testament of the Holy Bible was, and ever remains to be, prophecies fulfilled in the new testament, types and shadows of things to come, and the God of the universe does nothing without reason, without purpose, without significance.  The Lord Jesus Christ is our Passover lamb; His blood was shed for us so that the torment of death, Hell and the grave would pass over us  ...  we now have a promise of life everlasting, sins forgiven, newness of life, infilling of His Spirit, baptism in His name  ... all to secure our deliverance and preservation in our heavenly home to come.

That night, when the firstborn of the Egyptians were destroyed, the Israelites were commanded to stay indoors until they were called to march out of Egypt.  They must stay protected by the blood.  So it is for the Christian believer; if we expect to be safe from evil, we must stay under the blood of Jesus Christ.  It is by the Blood of Jesus, the Name of Jesus, and the Word of Jesus that we are protected, delivered, saved, reborn, washed, cleansed, healed, filled, and made holy unto Him who sits upon the circle of the earth.  Thank You, Lord Jesus!

The Lord Jesus Christ

When the Israelites left Egypt, many Egyptians went with them; they had seen the miracles of God to His people; they observed the holiness of a people toward their God; they became believers of the One true God.  So it is today; in every Nation of the world, people are seeing the miracles of the Lord Jesus Christ, and they believe!  No other has the power to forgive sins; no other has the ability to draw all men unto Him; no other died, shed His blood, and rose again for the souls of every man, woman, and child on planet earth  ...  no other  ...  only The Lord Jesus Christ.

It's still observed today by Jews everywhere; and Christians observe it as we worship our Lamb, who is the lion of Judah, the bright and morning star, the Alpha and Omega, the Holy One of Israel, the Lily of the Valley, the soon coming King, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, the Creator, God in the flesh, the One responsible for the Eternal pardon of our sins, our Lamb of "PASSOVER"

"Who Is Jesus Christ?"

"Who Is Jesus Christ?"

"And without controversy great is the mystery

of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in

the world, received up into glory."

(I Timothy 3:16)

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,

 (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,)

full of grace and truth."

(John 1:14)

"Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see;

for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have."

(Luke 24:39)

It is the question among many religions today; some believe He was a great teacher, a Prophet, but many in the world do not believe He is GOD.  So, the question remains: "Who Is Jesus Christ?"

This brings us to the next question: Who is the Father?  Many believe there are three "persons" in heaven sitting upon the throne of God, namely, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.  Let's look at this closely:

"Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us."

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast

 thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father;

and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?"

(John 14:8-9)

We learned from the scriptures above that a Spirit hath not flesh and bones; a Spirit could not come and die for us on the cross; it is, and remains for many, indeed, a mystery  ...  "GOD was manifest in the flesh  ... justified in the Spirit  ...  seen of angels  ...  preached to the Gentiles  ...  received up into glory  ...  Who did those things?  The Lord Jesus Christ; He was Father in Creation  - the eternal all-knowing Spirit; He was Son in redemption  - He was born of a virgin, grew up, died on the cross, and rose again the third day, and He's ALIVE forevermore; and He was Holy Ghost in regeneration. 

"What does 'regeneration' mean?" you ask.  It means "Christ making all things new;" when He rose from the dead, He said I will not leave you comfortless; I will send back my Spirit.  What is a "ghost?"  It is a 'spirit' of a departed one - a ghost does not have a body, and is not a 'person.'  The "Father" is a Spirit and does not have flesh and bones:  There is only ONE person, only one 'body' of the three titles, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and that is the person: The Lord Jesus Christ.  "And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne." (Rev. 4:1-6)  John, in the Book of Revelation in his vision, saw "one" sitting on the throne; that's because we can't see a 'spirit;' Father is a Spirit and Holy Ghost is a Spirit, but the Lord Jesus Christ is both body and Spirit!

A Spirit, the eternal Father, could not die for mankind; He had to make Himself a body, and He did; the Word was with God; the Word was God; the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, Jesus Christ our Lord.  The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are viable, but they are three manifestations of ONE person.  

"If Jesus Christ is God; then, why is He called a Son?" you ask.  He is called a Son, because He was born of a woman.  It's interesting, though, that Jesus never called Mary "mother;" He called her "woman."  Why?  Because He was also "her" Savior.

It is phenomenal, is it not?  The plan of the eternal Spirit, Father of the world, to make Himself a body, be born of a virgin, die on the cross, rise again, and He will come again to set His feet upon the Mount of Olives and rule and reign forever and ever!  Hallelujah!

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you

in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye

shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

(Acts 2:38)

Why did Peter say to be baptized "in the name of Jesus Christ," when Matthew 28:19 said to baptize "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost?"  Did the Apostles get it wrong, or did they understand that they were not to just quote it, but "to do it," meaning they understood that the NAME of the Father is Jesus Christ; the NAME of the Son is Jesus Christ; the NAME of the Holy Ghost is Jesus Christ  ...  so they "obeyed" the command.  "Does this really matter?" you ask.  Do you sign your checks "daughter, or mother, or sister?"  No, you sign with your name; Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are titles: the NAME is Jesus Christ. 

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is

 profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for

instruction in righteousness:"

"Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about

thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:"

(Proverbs 3:3)

"But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel

unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed."

(Galatians 1:8)

Is doctrine important?  Is truth important?  Does it matter if we get it right?  Yes! Yes! YES!  The Bible says that in the last days people will not believe the truth and they will be damned.  "That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."  (2 Thessalonians 2:12)  Who was he talking about when he said "though we or an angel from heaven?"  It was Peter and Paul; they were taught at different times in different places and, yet, when they came together and compared doctrine, it was exactly the same.  There is only ONE gospel, only ONE God, only ONE Savior of the world, only ONE who will Rapture His Church, only ONE who will be coming back   ...  The Lord Jesus Christ! 

 



Only the NAME of Jesus Christ has all power to wash away sins; only the NAME of Jesus Christ has the power to cast out demons; only the NAME of Jesus Christ can heal our diseases, calm our seas, speak peace to our weary souls, deliver us from evil, fill us with all power and wonder, create in us a new heart, and raise us to newness of life in HIM.
