"SOUL SAVVY"

"For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; to those who are without the law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without the law; to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak,  I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.  Now this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker of it with you."  (I Corinthians 9:19-23)  The key to winning the world is for all of us to become "Soul Savvy!"

"We who are strong ought to bear the failings

of the weak and not to please ourselves."

(Romans 15:1)

Paul was blinded before He saw Jesus, and then when He "saw" Jesus, he was a pillar of strength to everyone he came in contact with and to us today, who read his writings.  We are all blind "before" Jesus!  We all were born in sin and shapen in iniquity.  Paul was not saying that he became a drunk to save the drunk, or that he became a drug addict to save the drug addict, or that we should act one way with these people and another way with those people.  Letusreason.org explains it this way, "Paul simply meant that he would use their own beliefs and ways to show them the truth.  So to a religious Jew, he would use the law to speak to them; to a Gentile, he would use his conscience and culture."    

Soul winning is an "Art;" it is the process of walking in another's shoes; we forget our own interests to partake of another's interest  ...  without "Sin."  The Apostle Paul never compromised his morals or beliefs to win others, but for the sake of the gospel, he forgot himself for the cause of Jesus Christ our Lord.  It's all about indistinguishing ourselves to distinguish another  ...

How do we become "Soul Savvy," and how do we unlock the doors of the nations of the world?  Ten out of ten times, it requires being filled with the Spirit of the ONE who is the Ultimate "Soul lover;" He is Jesus Christ.  When we repent of our sins; we are baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and we receive His Spirit and speak in tongues, we become like Him and the closer we get to Him, the more the world becomes our vision; all nations, kindreds and tongues become our focus, prayers, and goals.  It is difficult to be in love with Jesus Christ and not love His world!

That we might by all means save some ...

Pastor Kenneth Phillips says something extraordinary; "It's the same all over the world, a smile, a drop of blood, and a teardrop."  When we realize this and the depth of that statement really gets hold of us, "we will absolutely win some!"  Everybody in every nation, every culture, every far off land, "hurts" at some time or another, and for most nations right now, even our own, tears are falling, blood is being shed  ...  but most of all, we all need a "smile."  The Lord Jesus Christ IS the smile; He IS the rainbow after the storm; He IS the whisper of sweet peace; He IS the Joy that comes in the morning  ...  He IS!  

You're beautiful!

There's another thing that is the same all over the world  ...  the worship of Jesus Christ!  It may be in a different language, a different dance of Joy, a different style of dress, but the love of God manifested through the Holy Ghost is the same!  The Spirit of Christ produces the same facial glow, the same power in His Spirit, the same miracles, signs and wonders, the same Joy unspeakable and full of Glory, the same shout of praise, the same Hallelujah and Alleluia, the same brush of Angels' wings, the same salvation message  ...  One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism  ... One Lord and Savior of us all, Jesus Christ our Lord!

Whether you are in Latvia, Bangledesh, Ghana, Australia, India, an island in the middle of the Sea, the USA, or Timbuktu  ...  we're coming, World!  The Spirit of the Lord is coming!  We are all more alike than we think; we all know what it means to have "no more tears" in heaven.  We're learning World, we're growing, and we will win some, many many "somes," as we become more and more Soul Savvy.  We pray for you, lay our hands on the maps of "Your" world, and you know, you must know, that our tears are just like yours!

"Amore Costose"

Could we die for the cause of Christ?  Could we be crucified upside down, be boiled in oil, have our heads severed from our bodies?  The Christian Martyrs did.  What makes a missionary travel to a foreign country, live in squalor at times, risk his life among vicious tribes in some places, give up his freedom, expose himself to disease, and coexist with a people he does not know?  Why would one lay hands on the map of the world and weep for people he will never see, or groan over a globe of scattered nations amidst sprawling oceans, or fly the lonely skies to land in a country and hold a stranger in his arms as if he's known them forever.  It's called "evangelism," the reason our Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died  ... It's "Costly Love," or in the beautiful Italian language: "Amore Costose." 

"And he said  unto them, Go ye into all

the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

(Mark 16:15)

Brazil, Italy, Africa, and every Nation, kindred and tongue are on the itinerary for PromiseLand Church, and they should be for every Christian alive.  All of us may not be able to go there physically, but we go there on our knees, in our groans, in the realms of the Spirit, in our dreams, in our depth of intercessory calling, through the portals of God's eternal vision  ...  we GO, and we love, and we win, and we serve, and we fulfill, and we pour out, and we practice Amore Costose  ...  for Jesus Christ our Lord.

The Apostle Peter denied the Lord, but he made up for it by being crucified upside down, the manner of his death at his own request, because he said he was not worthy to be crucified in the same way as his Lord.  All of the Apostles gave their all and died martyred deaths for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  They paved our way with a trail of blood, just as did our Lord Jesus Christ.    

There is a real heaven and hell; there will be a day of reckoning; there will be a Rapture of the Church; a terrible tribulation period IS going to occur; Jesus Christ is coming again; and every soul on earth must deal with these issues  ...  now or later  ... every knee will bow, every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!  (Romans 14:11)  The whole world is shaking and trembling, groaning and straining, questioning and quaking, looking and reaching, for what  ... for whom  ... it is time, destiny, and prophecy joining hands as One  ...  and preparing for the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, three manifestations of THE ONE to come, the Almighty God, the Lord Jesus Christ!

"But you will receive power when the Holy

Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses

in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and

to the ends of the earth."

(Acts 1:8)

What makes one genuinely love a total stranger?  What causes one to want to tell the world about Jesus Christ?  Why does a foreign country tug at one's thoughts and wake him in the wee hours of the morning to pray for its people?  The Holy Ghost, the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ!  It is hard, if not almost impossible to truly love the world, without the Spirit of Christ.  When we receive His Spirit and speak in a language we never learned, we are suddenly and beautifully transformed into the image of Love and we have no more an understanding of hate and fear; we become willing to give all for the One who lives within us.  We identify with the Apostles and we have the full meaning of "Costly Love." 

World, we're coming!  Love is not Love unless we give it away!  We're coming Italy, and we'll spend it lavishly on you.  The Lord Jesus Christ paid the cost in full for You:  "Amore Costose!"

Call To Me!

Call To Me!

So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions' den.  The king said to Daniel, "May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!"  The question to this world of total unrest, tumult, war, and rumors of wars, is:  Who's gonna' rescue you?  Who are You serving?  Like the song says, "... it may be the devil, or it may be the Lord; but ya' gotta' serve somebody."  Is that "somebody" a Savior or a killer?  You say, "Nobody serves a killer!"  I beg to differ  ...  Dictators are killing their own people right now in many riotous and rebelling countries  ...  And, the devil, himself, has a mission to kill, steal and destroy.  So, is the one you're serving a Savior or a killer?  Will he shut the lion's mouths for you; will he rescue you, or destroy you?  Is he waiting anxiously for you to reach out to him with "Call To Me?"

And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will

deliver you, and you will honor me."

(Psalm 50:15)

When the bombs start to fall and the ground begins to rumble, who are you going to call?  I don't know about you, but I'm calling on the One who has saved me, delivered me, stood up for me, rescued me, comforted me, preserved me, healed me, filled me, washed me, covered me, and who is coming back for me!  His name is the Lord Jesus Christ, the Great I AM, the King of Kings, the Alpha and Omega  ... He's not a wanna' be, could be or should be  ... He's MY God and He IS!

"Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on him

while he is near."

(Isaiah 55:6)

We can almost hear the pounding hooves of the four horses of the apocalypse in the Book of Revelation.  If we feel close to that event, how close are we to the Rapture of the Church, which takes place in Revelation 4:1 (see I Corinthians 15:52 and I Thessalonians 4:16-17)   The kingdom of God is rising before our eyes.  The groans of a shaking, rocking and reeling, unsteady earth are echoing through the clouds of warring angels forming lines to intervene   ... for the saved, the redeemed, the Bride of Jesus Christ!   

"Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his

thoughts.  Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on

him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon."

(Isaiah 55:7)

"Pardon" means to exempt the guilty party from punishment.  This is the essence of the Lord Jesus Christ!  He shed His own blood to pardon you and me.  No sin is beyond His forgiveness, except blasphemy against the Holy Ghost.  He died to set you and me free.  "How can I know I can be forgiven and that I can live a better life?" you ask.  When you are baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, your sins are forgiven and washed away.  Then, you will receive the power of the Holy Ghost, which is the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ living inside you.  When you are filled with the Holy Ghost and speak with tongues as the Spirit gives you the utterance, (Acts 2:38) you have power to stand in the throes of anything that might come against you.  When trouble, temptation, or evil knocks, send Jesus Christ to answer the door!  

 

"Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens 

and the earth by your great power and outstretched 

arm.  Nothing is too hard for you."

(Jeremiah 32:17)

Don't ya' love it?  Lord Jesus, "Nothing is too hard for you."  It is so wonderful to know that you are resting in the arms of Jesus through every trial, every heartache, every disaster, every fear, every threat, and every catastrophe  ...  that is, if you are?  Jesus cannot calm your seas, if He is not on your boat!  Who are you serving?  

If the Lord God of Israel can protect Daniel in a den of lions; if He can calm the raging seas by a spoken Word; if He can multiply a handful of loaves and fishes to feed thousands; if He can preserve three men in a fiery furnace to come out alive; if He can open the gates of prisons through dispatched angels and set men free  ... He can shut up the feral terrifying sounds that seek to destroy us! 

We're living in a lions' den!  There's snarling and growling around us, over us, and under us.  Everything in the world, whether it's the receiving of salvation or needing safety, the utter preponderance of protection or mighty power, being covered in the blood or with angels' wings, going under the rivers in His name or rivers flowing out in His name, dancing in His Spirit or dancing in demon blood, rebuking the forces of evil or invoking the powers of heaven, shouting Holy Hallelujah's Anyhow or singing I don't believe You brought me this far to leave me, shutting earthly lions' mouths or heeding the mouth of the Lion of Judah  ... it all has roots going back to "Before Abraham was, I AM"  ... Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, created all there is, and He can subdue, rebuke, and "save" all there is!  He is just waiting to hear: "Call To Me!"

"Bridge To Everywhere"

"Bridge To Everywhere"

 "Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God

and there is no other." (Isaiah 45:22)  God's love reaches from North to South, East to West, and embraces the globe.  It is His desire for His Word, His blood, and His Name to fill the earth!  He is building a "Bridge To Everywhere!"    

      "I will say to the North, Give up; and to

the South, Keep not back: bring my sons from far,

and my daughters from the ends of the earth."

(Isaiah 43:6)

A bridge is a link connecting one place to another, and one very important and interesting definition of "link" is: "a burning torch!"  The light of God Almighty and the Holy Ghost and fire will bridge the gap from Nation to Nation, people to people, culture to culture, until the "world" is a revival hub for the appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ!  The Lord God Almighty is a Master of construction and His engineering degree is from Wisdom University, Creation College of dynamics, a school of Higher Learning for the "Gifted" intelligentsia, the PHD who created PHD's, and His NASA experience says it's possible to build a "Bridge To Everywhere!"

"The Lord will lay bare his holy arm

in the sight of all the nations, and all

the ends of the earth will see the

salvation of our God."

(Isaiah 52:10)

The Lord Jesus Christ, Creator of the world, knows how to gather His world in His arms.  There is no one who will fight for you like the Lord of the universe.  There is a song that says, "Your arms are too short to box with God," and it's true!  There's only ONE who knows the art of War and it's God Almighty.  But, He came to love you, not to destroy you.  He is not willing that any should be lost or perish.  However, when you belong to Him, when you are baptized in His name and filled with His Spirit, He will fight for you, protect you, sustain you, comfort you, hold you, carry you, and He will subdue your enemies.  The strategic plan of drawing your soul to the One who loves you more than life itself rests in the burning torch lighting the way across that long bridge that has no end  ... the bridge of eternal love  ... it walks on water, spans the continents, traverses the jungles, climbs over walls, knows all languages, and this bridge has no end  ...

"Surely you will summon nations you know

not, and nations that do not know you will

hasten to you, because of the Lord your God,

the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed

you with splendor."

(Isaiah 55:5)

The bridge I'm talkin' about looks like a "cross."  The Lord Jesus Christ died on a cross, rose the third day and sent back His Spirit to you and me as a "bridge" to go into all the world as His witnesses to proclaim His Word.  The Holy Ghost is the "bridge" of splendor, the power for purpose, the strength for the struggle, to entreat the entourage of earth to worship the Bridge Builder and sit at His feet for all eternity. 

"Nations will come to your light,

and kings to the brightness of your dawn."

(Isaiah 60:3)

Darkness doesn't have a chance in the midst of blinding, glorious, spectacular, stupendous Light!  The world maybe doesn't know it, but they are looking for "light."  They have an insatiable desire for "light."  How do we know this?  It's like a plant bursting through the concrete just to get to the light!  They're fighting to see; they're striving to know and understand; the longings of the souls are screaming through the darkness in search of light.  At evening time, there shall be light! (Zechariah 14:7)  The "bridge" is lengthening, stretching, reaching, expanding  ...  it's going everywhere!  The light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is brightening the world!

The Gospel shall be preached in all the world for a witness  ...  it is a plan for eternity, a rescue for the world, love's arms enfolding the globe  ...  it's a "Bridge To Everywhere!"

"Pounding Hooves"

"Pounding Hooves"

"And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow..."  "And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth..."  "And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand..."  "And I looked, and behold a pale horse, and his name that sat on him was death..."  (Reveleation 6:2-8)  The four horses of the Apocalypse: conquest, war, famine, and death.  These are the judgments which will come upon the earth after the Rapture of the Church, but we are already seeing the "preparation" and preliminaries of these soon coming judgments.  We feel the earth shaking and trembling, and we hear the thundering sound of the "Pounding Hooves!"

"..and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder..."

"Thunder" can be a rumble in the heavens, a voice in a shout, or the sound of pounding hooves!  The bottom line is, "Are we listening?"  There are signs all around us that the Bible is true, and that the earth is preparing  ...  There is an uneasiness among all Nations, a "thundering whisper" from the heavens, "I'm coming soon!"  An urgency awakens the sleepers to pray more than ever before; a wind of prophecy is blowing through disastrous calamities in one word calls, "Hurry!"  Even those who are not so-called "religious" sense something is up.  And, they're right!  Everything is "Up!"  Jesus Christ is "UP;" Look "UP" children!  The prophetic culmination of all things is approaching.  And, the pounding of hooves is growing louder and louder!

"Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast,

call a solemn assembly."

(Joel 2:15)



The "shofar" in the Bible was considered to be the trumpet of God.  The Hebrew word "shofar" has a meaning of: "a sense of incising, cutting, or burning into," and comes from the root word meaning "beauty."  The shofar prepares the soul and spirit, and its sound to the Hebrews was more than a horn blast; it was symbolic of power.  The words of the prophets were compared to the sound of the shofar; "Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head."  (Ezekiel 33:4)  The trumpet is sounding; the Prophet in the pulpit is preaching the alarm; the very earth is groaning a blast of warning; the Lord is coming, and we must be ready!

When we hear the "pulpit thunder," there's only one thing we must do!  Pray: Lord, Jesus, please forgive me of my sins; I humble myself before you, and I come to you as my Savior.  Please fill me with Your Spirit, and I will speak in another language I have never learned as Your Spirit enters my body.  I will be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of my sins, and I will be a witness for You all of my days.  Lead me in the path of righteousness and teach me Your Word.  I turn away from all evil and I follow You forever.  Amen.  (If you prayed this prayer with me, please don't hesitate to contact promiselandchurch.net; you will be the recipient of our love and prayers 24 hours a day.  God Bless You!)

The trumpet or shofar and the pounding hooves are both sounds pronouncing the coming of something so monumental; one is the sound of judgment, and the other is the sound to heed the Prophet of God!  The Bible prophesies, and we are fast approaching, the most profound trumpet sound of all  ... the Rapture of the Church! (I Thessalonians 4:16-17) and it's the sound of THE glorious escape!  

The "Sound of the Trumpet" or "Pounding Hooves"  ...  in this world of choice; which do you choose?

"Field Hands"

"Field Hands"

The very heart of Jesus Christ our Lord: "Then saith he unto his disciples, the harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few."  (Matthew 9:37)  It's harvest time!  "...I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields!  They are ripe for the harvest."  (John 4:35)  God is looking for some people to bring in His harvest; He's looking in every Nation, kindred and tongue, to find people who will join in unity and work in the fields.  He just needs some "Field Hands!"

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the

proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

(Galatians 6:9)

Lots of things happen if we don't give up!  It's the panting, sweaty, thirsty, steady runner who wins the race.  We're in the race of our lives now; it seems the economy gets worse every day; even the early morning temperature is hot, no rain; at least that's how it is in Texas; the prices of everything are rising; the disasters are increasing; our stresses are intensifying; why in the world is all of this happening?  It's Harvest time! 

Harvest time is when the crops are ripe and ready.  The souls of men "are" ripe and ready, because they're seeing that this old world is not a guarantee.  Rivers flood; hurricanes happen; neighborhoods burn; tornados come; jobs are lost; and it's all because we live in a fallen world.  The only thing we can count on is the ONE who saves our souls and is coming back to take us out of this earthly destruction.  The Joy of living is in the knowledge of knowing the Lord Jesus Christ lives within us.  He makes life joyful, peaceful, and exciting, no matter what we have to face!  You say, "What?  Life is exciting in the middle of all of this chaos and turmoil?"  Oh, Yes! The Lord Jesus Christ makes everything beautiful in its time!

The Harvest!



How do we know it's harvest time?  Everybody is looking for peace, joy, love, kindness, happiness, and hope!  The people of planet earth will only find the totality of those things in the Lord Jesus Christ.  So, they're reaching, searching, seeking, and frantically looking for answers, help, and guidance.  This is where the Lord says, "Go forth, Zion, and gather in the sheaves; bring my children home; gather my little lambs, and lay them at My feet."  It's Harvest time! 

                                    

"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted, and 

saves those who are crushed in spirit."

(Psalm 34:18)

 Maybe you're reading this and your spirit is crushed; your heart has a gash as big as the Grand Canyon, and you don't know where to turn or what to do.  The Lord Jesus is close to you right now; He wants to hold you, comfort you, and give you peace.  Peace is being able to sleep at night, without tears splashing in loud thumps upon your pillow.  Peace is knowing you can make it, and that no matter "what else" happens, you have an assurance that Almighty God is with you and taking care of you.  He has many resources; He owns the cattle on a thousand hills!

The world is hungry, thirsty, tired and they have no answers.  That's how we know it's Harvest time.  The Lord Jesus Christ is the answer; He will carry us through the storms, and He gives us an abundance of strength to face tomorrow.  He IS Peace personified, Joy unspeakable, Power positively, Kindness in keeping, Love longlasting, Mercy moreover, and He IS LORD forevermore!

We are engaged in the most honorable profession of all  ...  we are the Lord's "Field Hands!"

"Elemental Glory"

"Elemental Glory!"

Wind, Fire, Water, Earth: The Four elements of nature.  It just so happens that these four originate from Almighty God. And, He's about to prove it in a big way!  The power of the universe exists in Joel 2:28, Acts 2:38, and the Book of Revelation.  Actually, the whole Bible is the semblance of "Elemental Glory!" 

"...they were baptized in the name

of the Lord Jesus."

(Acts 19:5)

"And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one." (I John 5:8)  "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved..." (Mark 16:16)   Water!  A key "element" of salvation is to be baptized in the wonderful name of the Lord Jesus Christ!  Our sins are washed away when we go under the waters in His name, and we come up a new creation!

"And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a

rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where

they were sitting.  And there appeared unto them cloven

tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.  And

they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to

speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."

(Acts 2:2-4)

Wind and Fire!  Elements of Glory!  The Lord God, Jesus Christ, doesn't do anything nonchalantly.  Everything produced, created, manifested, illuminated, and revealed by the God of creation is always done in an ethereal fashion!  Why?  Because He IS God!  The Day of Pentecost was resplendent with wind and fire.  We are in the days of wind and fire now, the "Epic Harvest" (stated by Pastor Kenneth Phillips) is consuming the globe, from Nation to Nation, as the Lord pours out His Spirit upon "all" flesh. 

"And one cried unto another, and said,

Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts:

the whole earth is full of his glory."

(Isaiah 6:3)

 The earth!  The final element of the four.  The earth is composed of "dust," and God formed man of the dust of the earth.  It is God's desire that everything should be "in earth as it is in heaven," or for this writing,  in "man" as it is in heaven.  How is it in heaven?  There is no sickness, no disease, no evil, no hatred, no war, no hurricanes, tornados, floods or fires, no heartache  ...  no tears.  Herein, is the bottom line:  The Lord God of creation wants men, women and children all over the world to be repentant, baptized in His name and filled with His Spirit  ... earth, water, wind and fire  ...  "Elemental Glory!"
