"Pickin' Up The Pieces"

 

"Thus saith the LORD; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth

of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear..."

(Amos 3:12)

"For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept;

line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there

a little: For with stammering lips and another tongue

will he speak to this people."

(Isaiah 28:10-11)

Amos, the Prophet, spoke to the rescue of a remnant, pieces left

from a devouring lion, yet they had ears to hear

Like being ripped by a beast, is your life broken in pieces,

 consumed with fears and tears?

The Shepherd comes to pick you up, dust you off, and line upon

line, the Spirit of God will restore

It's the Name of Jesus, the Blood of Jesus, and the Word of

Jesus, that you should seek to explore

To be set free, and to be made whole, are promises made by God;

His lines and precepts are written in His blood

It was all for you, a monument of His grace, to mend all the

broken pieces, and form a new blooming bud

Dry your tears and weep no more, for the cross paid the price;

 the Lord Jesus was torn for your brokenness

 His joy and love replace your sorrow, pain and heartache,

erasing your sad sense of hopelessness

Broken pieces are not a problem for the ever-reaching Shepherd;

His arms are strong and always underneath

His lines and precepts made a holy provision for the grafted in,

 an eternal legacy and inheritance to bequeath

You are no more forgotten and thrown away; You're the Glory

of a Holy God, restored and displayed

A vessel of honor you have become, before a watching world,

and guardian Angels, of whom you're arrayed

You're free now, a newly formed creation, the shredded pieces

now made whole by Your Holy Creator

He's Jesus Christ, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, your

Savior, Redeemer, and your remaker 

Heaven, now, is your destination; the Lord Jesus Christ closed

 the gap, and His blood filled the breaches

Repentance, baptism in Jesus' name, and infilling of His Spirit,

are the Joy of "Pickin' Up the Pieces."
