"Perigee and Theology"

"And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and

signs in the earth beneath;

blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:"

"Astronomers are saying that this Super Moon will be even more super than usual.

On Saturday at 8:34 p.m. our time, the moon reaches full moon status - when the earth, moon and sun are all in alignment. One minute later, at 8:35 p.m., “perigee” will occur."*

distance is 238,855 according to NASA. That’s 17,053 miles closer than usual.   This all

translates to a moon that will appear 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than other full moons this year, according to NASA. An astronomer  interviewed by National Geographic

says 16 percent bigger."*

In Latin, "Perigee" means "violating moon restraining order."  The Almighty and Holy God of the universe will violate all kinds of orders in the last days.  Huh?  "The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord." (Acts 2:20)  "Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders," Jesus told him, "you will never believe." (John 4:48)   What?  "Are you saying that unless we see wonders in heaven, we will not believe?" you ask.  I'm not saying it, the Word of God is saying it; the Lord Jesus Christ is saying it, and by the way, it's absolutely true! Hezekiah got his miracle when he asked for a sign that he would, indeed, live.  Hezekiah was sick unto death and the Prophet Isaiah told him to prepare for death.  But, Hezekiah wept bitterly and the Lord heard his cries and granted him fifteen more years of life, along with Hezekiah's requested  "sign" to prove it.  "Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down." (Isaiah 38:8) 

Perigee Moon

Oh, people of the world, we're dealing with The Creator of the universe here.  His question to Job and to us is: "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the world?"  God can and does do anything and everything; NASA answers to Him.  Ask Joshua  ...

"On the day the LORD gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the

LORD in the presence of Israel: "O sun, stand still over Gibeon, O moon,

over the Valley of Aijalon.   So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the

nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun

stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day."

(Joshua 10:12-13)

The Book of Revelation is full of signs and wonders, vials, sickles and plagues cast to earth from the hands of Angels.  We serve a mighty GOD, indeed!  If He so desired, He could cause the entire world to bow the knees, with one blink of His eye  ...  and, since we've mentioned it: "For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God." (Romans 14:11)  A "Perigee" moon, clouds in horse shapes, waters turning to blood, the glow of angels' wings in the midst of the car wreck, sundials turning back, sun standing still  ...  The Holy One of Israel is a mighty GOD!

Moon Perigee

O, LORD, we bow before Your Holy name; we stand in awe at Your wonders, signs, and glories; You are omnipotent and we lift You up in worship and praise.  Your power and wisdom exceed the minds of pundits; Your majesty is beyond our imagination and ponders; Your brilliant magnificence shines as a halo over the surface of earth; You are Great and Greatly to be praised;  You are the King of Kings, the LORD of Lords, the Alpha and the Omega, The I AM; You are Jesus Christ our LORD, and our soon coming King!

 

They are One and the same; they are at the whims of The Creator's mind; they are the prerogative of The Ruler's mood; they are ordained in the portals of an omniscient throne; they are the notions of a lover, a Savior, a Redeemer, a Lamb, and a Lion: they are "Perigee and Theology."
