"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and
his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the
Mighty God, the everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace."
(Isaiah 9:6)
Who rules the world? Who governs the universe? Who sets up and tears down? Who reigns in the politics of men? Who has dominion in His hands?
Who knew a baby could do all that? Who, in the history of the world, knew that "hope" would rise from a manger? Who could have ever imagined that from the stable to the cross, from the cross to the tomb, from the tomb to the clouds, would emanate the Savior of the world? Some knew; Prophets of old knew as they were moved on by the Holy Ghost; Simeon and Anna knew, and now we know ...
He owns the cattle on a thousand hills, He's the keeper of "The Mint;" and He's the banker who gives without a loan. He dispatches angels, calms fearful hearts, heals diseases and cancers, whispers peace, and He's full of surprises for those who love Him; He IS the Holy One of Israel, the God of creation, the Mighty God and soon coming King, the Lord Jesus Christ!
He rescues and saves, delivers and redeems, provides and blesses, He IS! He comes with healing in His wings for the ready and the willing; He will calm your seas, dispel your fears, and fill you with joy. He IS the reason for the season, the rainbow of hope and assurance, the basket of provision, the light in the night, the joy in the midst of trouble, the peace that passes all understanding, and the reason for living, He IS.
We're in the season of angels, and the time
of Your miraculous birth
We take the time to kneel and offer our praise
with humility and mirth
You're the Savior of the world, for a hurting
and dying humanity
So, trembling we come, ridding ourselves of
sin and personal vanity
Hear our cries, Dear Lord, and forgive our
earthly sinful frailties
Cleanse our hearts and rid our spirits of
unworthy hindering maladies
We celebrate Your birth with triumphant
dance and a worshipful feast
To our Lord Jesus Christ, our soon coming
king, The Prince of Peace.
For the politics of men and the negligence of the world You died for, Lord, we apologize. Have mercy on us once again, grant us one more revival, one more outpouring, one more great Awakening, one more holy angelic visitation, one more "birth of Spirit" for Glory's sake, we pray. We sense the urgency, the ticking of the clock, and the warming up strains of a distant trumpet. Ready us for Your coming, grant us Your grace, and strengthen Your army. We line up with You, armored and holy in Your sight. Maranatha, Lord Jesus.
We are alert and awake, working and winning, serving and surrendering, waiting for our "Prince of Peace."
