"And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as "a bride adorned for her husband." (Revelation 21:2) The Apostle John was boiled in oil, "condemned for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ," and banished to the Isle of Patmos where he saw the vision of the holy city.
Commentary states that when John was plunged into the boiling pot of oil, he suffered nothing from it, and the entire Colosseum audience was converted to Christianity after witnessing this undeniable miracle. The Roman Emperor could do nothing but get rid of John, so he sent him 90 miles out into the Aegean Sea to the Isle called Patmos. It was there that John said, "I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day," and it was there that he wrote the powerful Book of Revelation. We must always look up, because the answers, visions, Glory, power, mystery, splendor, Wonder, and majesty are over our heads ... "Everything Comes Down!"
temple of my God. Never again will he leave it.
I will write on him the name of my God and the
name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem,
which is coming down out of heaven from my God;
and I will also write on him my new name."
(Revelation 3:12)
If you want to be sad, pick another day! Today is the day of salvation, and it "comes down" from above. You wouldn't wait; you wouldn't waste another minute crying in your alcoholic drink or your tenth beer if you knew what could "come down" upon you and give you joy, peace, health, strength, love ... and it's "unspeakable and full of Glory!" It's the Holy Ghost and fire! Will it remove all your troubles, make everything perfect, give you all the money you want, repair your marriage, heal your body, calm your fears, and bring back to life your dead dreams? With God, all things are possible! If the Apostle John could be boiled in oil and survive, Almighty God, Jesus Christ our Lord, can do absolutely anything! Can I promise you these things? I can promise you that from the moment you give your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, you repent of your sins, you are baptized in His name, and you are filled with His Spirit and speak with tongues as His Spirit enters your body, you will NEVER be the same! His blessings "come down" from above ... and "no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly before Him." (Psalm 84:11)
And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is
thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take
the free gift of the water of life."
(Revelation 22:17)
The water of life comes down from above, the new Jerusalem comes down from above, the Spirit of God comes down from above, blessings and honor come down from above ... Rain and Reign come down from above, and the King of Kings and Lord of Lords is coming down from above! Stop looking down; the good things, the miraculous power, the glorious splendor, the beautiful tapestries of newness, all come down from the Holy One of Israel ... and He is calling Your name!
The evil empires of this world will fall; the tormenting dictators will fail; the treasures of this world will be thrown in the streets; everything that exalts itself above God will be brought to naught; the sun will be turned to darkness; and the waters will be turned to blood; the devil's domain is the second heaven and his torment comes down to earth; time and destiny meet and descend into prophecy ... everything comes down ... good comes down by the hand of God and evil is thrown down by the hand of God. The question is: Whom do you serve, and what do you want to come down for you? "Coming down" is a positive or a negative, depending upon whom you serve ...
It's a law of Almighty God and a "circle" of authority ... the origin of ecstasy flows from above; the destiny of evil is trodden under foot; the circumference of life cascades from the throne room and returns when beckoned ... evil is rebuked and cast down; Spirit is exhaled and inhaled; it's a paradox of setting up and tearing down; it is good and evil coming down in a reckoning of the soul ... Jesus Christ our Lord has a date with "dust;" He created the concept: Everything Comes Down!
