We nestle in Your longing arms, Oh Lord, as summer's warmth enfolds us in evening's wavy shadows. The chirping of the birds, the blooming of the trees, and the purple and orange of painted, summer, canvas skies lets us know we are in a new season. Each new season beckons us to Your feet, wakes us in the night silence, and tells us we are one season closer to seeing You face to face! We humble ourselves in the sultry nights of arid slumber, as we seek Your peace in the beauty of Your comforting, soothing Spirit. Suddenly, the summer's not so hot; a cool breeze of Glory transposes the sere, still night into wafts of angelic feathery brushes on our waiting, eager and dewy cheeks. Your presence enters the room like tantalizing aromas of full bloom roses swaying in the wispy winds. You're the Lily of the Valley and the Lover of our souls; You're the twinkling of the night stars in life's dreary lonesome places; You're the lifter of our drooping heads in the mourning echoes of habitual life; You Are, Oh Lord, the waterfalls of Joy pouring from infinite heavens; You are the ecstasy of our existence; You Are! And, here we are, Lord Jesus, in the lazy, hazy days of summer. We are the children of Almighty God, whose minds are in perfect peace, and stayed on You!
